M Deceptive business practices/ strategies. We bought a used 2021 Honda Pilot from Tampa Honda at 11000 N Florida Ave. The agent was Mike Pelletier. Mike was very gentle and friendly when I talked to him, and he was also the Best Agent of the Year, with a certificate on the wall. As we became confident with him, I told him I needed this car for carpooling for my son for two years so I was looking for a vehicle with safety features. I have little knowledge about the car, so trust him that he will help us. While doing a test drive, Mike told me that this car's engine runs like butter, it's mostly highway-driven, and it will be great for a few more years. You might not need any major maintenance in the next two years. Considering we are with a great agent and buying something from a Honda dealership, we should be safe. While the deal was finalized and I saw the paper as sold as is, I did have some concerns. Then I asked Mike that we are taking a risk if something significant goes wrong immediately after I brought it what our option? Can you offer at least one week's warranty on major components? He said you are buying a Honda, and that's less likely to occur. If that happens, we are human beings and will work with you. Now I got the car drive home and it was in my garage for the next couple of days as weekend. I drove a few miles on Monday, and the engine light on the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree with an emission system problem. I went back to the dealer, and they told me it's your responsibility to pay for the diagnostic and repair costs. I met with Mike's agent, who sold us the car) and reminded him about his promise, and his behavior was rude. He told me once you are out of our dealership, it's my responsibility, and it's your vehicle. Now, I can't do anything about that. They ran a diagnostic test, telling me they didn't find any trouble in the engine. I might forget to switch up the engine while putting in the gas or overfilling the tank. Their service manager told me that we are doing you a favor. We will not charge the diagnostic fee. We just reset the computer and don't want you to spend any money on a vehicle you got from our dealer a few days back. I drove back home happily, thinking that the matter was resolved. After driving around 200 miles again, the same problem appeared (an emission system problem), so I immediately made an appointment and went back to the dealership. Now, they rerun the diagnostic test. They find multiple problems with the car and ask me to pay around 3k to start with, and then we will go on from there to figure out if there are any other problems. Now they convince me to pay around $700 to get rid of the Engine light due to a vent valve after they fix it with in 50 miles of driving the problem reappear. We called them and their response was the part is warranted but the emission problem we have to reevaluate and put all the fees from diagnostic to -----on you.. I complained to American Honda it was nothing but a joke the response from them that Rule #1 Tampa Honda is an independently operation dealer and we have no jurisdiction but we will talk to them on your behalf and let you know their response. Guess what was their response after opening a case and a week of enquiry is Rule #1 My Assumptions: 1. If the emission system problem appears twice with me, each time after about 100-200 miles of driving, they knew the problem and sold it to me after resetting it. 2. How come an engine running like butter goes so bad within 300 miles of driving that it produces a rattling sound and needs multiple repairs, including a timing belt? 3. I felt the engine sound a bit different during test driving and asked Mike about it. He said it's a typical sound; I never drive a complete SUV, and a layman on a car totally believes it. 4. If they run a diagnostic test on the car before offering a trade-in value to the customer and one more t More
Work sales experience ever. Came in with a preapproval for another car, was told in the morning it was available, upon arrival sales admitted they didn't check to see if it had Came in with a preapproval for another car, was told in the morning it was available, upon arrival sales admitted they didn't check to see if it had been sold, only if it was there. In the end I did buy a 2023 Pilot Trailsport that later I discovered was overpriced (my fault). It was billed as a CPO, but there is a cup holder with a bunch of goo, some king of support bar holders in the back that are loose and no screws, missing engine cover, no manual or anything else. You receive no copies of anything you sign, you have to wait for it to come in the mail. Ryan was the sales person. Worst buying experience ever. Definitely do not recommend this dealership. More

Maybe I shoul Had to go to dealer 3 times to finally resolve the problem. Sal Albaxxxxi, was an excellent person and solve my problem rather quickly. Maybe I should mention the problem, they never send the pay off to the credit union that finance my old car. So that means I’m getting a lot of extra charges that they don’t want to pay. More

Ryan was so helpful with the car buying process. Granted, I had sticker shock when walking in, but he worked with me to try and get something that I was comfortable with. Gary was superb in finance. I had a scheduled appointment and they still made me wait over 2 hrs for an oil change, tire rotation and replace windshield wiper refills. Found my car in the lot, having nothing done at 1.5 hrs. They also over 2 hrs for an oil change, tire rotation and replace windshield wiper refills. Found my car in the lot, having nothing done at 1.5 hrs. They also broke my windshield while attempting to replace the wiper refills, and didn't tell me. Called corporate and nothing. UPDATE: They had an Operations Director call me and promise to come see my windshield damage. Guess who no-showed!?! When I called and left a message for the Operations Director to see when he was coming, I was called by another loser nobody from Tampa Honda to tell me they won't taking any responsibility for my damage. Confirmed Tampa Honda is full of liars and crooks. They will damage your property and take NO responsibility!!! More
*** Edit I'm changing from 1 star to 3 stars and leaving my original review intact below. The manager Dan reached out and we were able to come to an agreement on our original issue. I still don't underst my original review intact below. The manager Dan reached out and we were able to come to an agreement on our original issue. I still don't understand why the staff had to be rude and not empathetic to our situation. It's sad that the manager had to get involved to rectify our situation. I'm glad we came to an agreement. I hope they train their staff to treat everyone equally. Whether it's a sale, service, or follow up. All customers need to be treated equally. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original Review Poor customer service. Mike is rude over the phone. He won't listen and talks over you. Mike needs a lesson in customer service. This dealership takes advantage of customers. Go to Brandon Honda. They have better customer service. More
Got a quote via email, it was the lowest so I drove to Tampa Honda from Pasco. Once there, they would not honor the quote, or even have a discussion about meeting somewhere in the middle. Tori, salesper Tampa Honda from Pasco. Once there, they would not honor the quote, or even have a discussion about meeting somewhere in the middle. Tori, salesperson, said if we wanted to go back to Pasco (Wesley Chapel Honda) and buy from them, go ahead. That's just what we did. Tori was argumentative and ill-informed, driving to Tampa Honda was a waste of time. Go to Wesley Chapel Honda, they are a professional operation unlike Tampa. More
