Worst Dealership Ever! Tamiami Hyundai is by far the WORST dealership I have ever dealt with. I own a 2013 Sonata Hybrid that I bought new in the Spring of 2014. It currently has 32,800 miles and has been the biggest headache I have ever dealt with. I took my car to Tamiami Hyundai for a routine oil change. I made an appointment, showed up on time, and even planned for it to take longer than it should. I waited for one and a half hours only for the serviceman to come out and try to upsell me on filters, maintenance kits, and other packages. When I declined, I asked how much longer the car would be and the gentleman said they had to put it back together. After another 15 minutes, I asked again for an update. I was told they were bringing it around. After another 5 minutes, I asked where they were "bringing it around" from as I needed to get to work and this was making me late. Eventually, a few minutes later, my car appeared. After that, I had a recall that needed to be completed. I scheduled an appointment and stated I needed a loaner car since I could not be late to work again. When I arrived, on time, I was walked to Hertz on site where I waited over 15 minutes for a person to appear to assist with a vehicle. This again made me late to work when I allotted ample time. Most recently, it was time again for a routine oil change. I scheduled an appointment and said I had some difficulty with the high beams flickering and my automatic window not operating fully. They added there was another recall on the vehicle. Due to all of this work, I requested a loaner vehicle since I could not sit at the dealership all day fixing manufacturer defaults. They said they do not offer loaners but I could take their complimentary shuttle, which only operates during regular business hours when I would be working, or pay for a rental car. I eventually spoke to a manager, John Atashian, who agreed to the loaner vehicle. When I dropped off the vehicle, I went over all the same questions and was again told they do not loan out vehicles. I explained the situation and the gentleman went to inspect my car. When he returned he said they would have provided a loaner anyway since it's a hybrid. It would have been nice if he had gotten all of the information so I would not have to argue in that case. I later received a call saying the high beams required a part they had to order. To my dismay, this would mean I would have to return yet again and most likely have to argue all of the same points just for Hyundai to correct a MANUFACTURER DEFAULT. Also, please note my car was never in any accidents to cause any damage of any kind. When I called to make the follow up appointment for the high beams I was told the shuttle operated until 6pm daily and I could then take that instead of a loaner car. All I cared about was getting to and from work in a timely fashion. When I appeared at the dealer, I asked if I could arrange for the shuttle pick up as I would need it at 5:45pm when I got off work. He said I could schedule it when they called to tell me my car was finished. When I entered the shuttle, knowing the driver would most likely be the same all day, I asked him if I could schedule a pick up at 5:45pm. He said he could not since the shuttle finished at 5pm. I told him we would need to turn around as I would be stranded if we continued. When I got back to Tamiami Hyundai, I explained that I was quite angry since I arranged this in advance and was now going to be late to work, for the third time due to this dealership. The gentleman was nonchalant and clearly wasn't bothered by the fact that I was given misinformation by representatives of their company. He spoke to his manager to inquire if a loaner car could be taken care of and returned without saying anything to me. After a minute, I asked if I should go to Hertz since I was in a huge hurry due to their miscommunication. He replied with an attitude and I walked to Hertz where the woman commented, "you were here the other day weren't you." If the rental car company knows who you are, you know you have a problem. In addition to the recalls I mentioned, there were at least one or two others that I am forgetting. Almost every time I go for any work, it is brought to my attention that there has been a recall Considering I spent over $20,000 to avoid problems that used cars often have, I cannot convey how truly disappointing and aggravating my experiences have been. I will never buy a Hyundai again, at the very least so I never have to deal with Tamiami Hyundai again. I will say, John Atashian has been helpful at times. He did agree to rotate my tires complimentary since I had so much trouble. He also was the gentleman who okayed the loaner cars on various occasions. I also reached out to Tamiami Hyundai's General Manager, Greg Abraham. He offered no compensation and said they will "attempt to get better in many ways." He was very short and showed no genuine care. More

I formed her that I had unlimited Eqqus service and repair coverage. She said not here you don’t. She convinced me by her attitude that I will never buy another Hyundai again. More

I asked what would have happened had they not fixed it. "One wheel would have gone to the right and the other to the left and you would have crashed." The service manager said Tamiami was negligent. I wrote to the CEO of Hyundai and they said they could do nothing because Tamiami is independent. Yesterday we took our Hyundai Accent to the same dealership (dumb on our part) because the hatch would not close. The woman in service said I think it is jammed and asked the manager to try with a screw driver he said no it need to be in the shop and diagnosed at another cost. We left and went to Nelson on Shirley St. He took a screw driver and unjammed it and it is perfect and he wouldn't charge us. I guess we finally learned our lesson STAY AWAY FROM TAMIAMI HYUNDAI. The mechanic spilled coffee in my car...seriously!?!?!? I was in for service on 2/4/17 at 9:30 am for a warranty repair issue. While I was sitting outside in the service drive waiting for my vehicle to be inspected, I saw the mechanic walking to my vehicle with a completely full cup of coffee, no lid, and so full I saw steam coming from it. I saw him get into my vehicle and drive away. I sat waiting only hoping that the coffee was not spilled into my vehicle. After the service was completed I was presented with the paperwork, asked to sign, and I was told my vehicle was waiting. I would like to point out that there was NO mention that a mistake was made, or that coffee was spilled in my car. I went to my car and as soon as I opened the door I could smell the strong odor of coffee and it was completely obvious that it was spilled in my vehicle. The driver’s side seat was wet with coffee, the center console, and the driver’s side door. The fact that I need to write this review is mind blowing! The fact that they let their mechanics into customer's vehicle with ANY beverage is beyond unprofessional! I would NEVER expect that from a dealership! I understand accidents happen, but for a mechanic to spill coffee in my car is something that should NEVER in a million years happen. It is completely 100% unacceptable, and unprofessional! More

Bait and Switch Tactics in their Service Department I had to have my car towed into this place for an overheating issue. I was quoted a price of $430 for repairs, which I authorized, although I thought I had to have my car towed into this place for an overheating issue. I was quoted a price of $430 for repairs, which I authorized, although I thought the quote was excessive given the fact that they were only replacing the upper and lower radiator hose for my vehicle. When I went to pick the vehicle up the following morning, I was charged $570 for the repairs for which I was quoted $430. I was then told the additional amount was for the diagnostic fee, a fee that was not quoted to me the previous day when I asked for the total amount due. Classic bait-and-switch. I would recommend that you take your vehicle anywhere but this place. I certainly will never take my vehicle back to them. More

Service Department is aweful I have been a loyal Hyundai owner for over 20 years. I have had wonderful service at 3 different dealerships. Tamiami Hyundai has sadly made me feel the need to purchase a different brand next time. I have given this service department 4 chances to CARE about servicing my car. Each time I get more and more frustrated with their lack of organization, horrible scheduling and just plain "don't care" attitude. I have always gotten calls after service at every other dealer I have dealt with and could always give 5 stars. Never have gotten a call after being at this dealership. I wonder why? More

They don't care I did not buy my car from this dealership but I did come here for my flat tire that is covered by a protection plan I bout when I bought my Accent. After leaving me in the waiting area for 45 minutes, I found my service advisor to ask if he had found out about my flat tire. He said yes He did find I have a protection plan on my tires, but that he has to call the company to see if a flat is covered. (It's a flat tire...it's a tire protection plan....common sense). But he wasn't on the phone. So he said have a seat he will call. I was sick so I stayed that I was going to leave but gave my phone number for when my tire was finished. As I pulled out of the lot, he was calling. The claims department was closed and they can't fix the tire unless I buy one myself out of pocket. I said I would be right there. When I came back I spoke to the manager and he stated he can't talk to the claimed department until they are open And will not fix the tire unless I paid, "because he needs to get his money." I said that making sure I only get a flat Monday through Friday is crazy. Can't he just put the clam in on monady because I am unable to come in during the week due to my job. He said no and that he wants the payment before the car leaves the lot. I even offered that they make the claim on Monday and I could bring the car back to get fixed the following Saturday, he said that doesn't work that way. Th service manager was no help and very disrespectful. To act as if the money was coming from his own pocket and be so rude was completely out of line. The Hyundai dealership I bought the car from even offered to speak to him about it but he refused. This dealership has the worst customer service and they don't care at all about anything but that bottom line number. If there was an option for negative stars I would pick negative 5 stars. More

(I guess they don't really care about their customers, they will only invade you with calls, when you want to buy a car from them). When I arrived there, the guy that greeted me, rudely told me that the recall is not available yet, since Hyundai does not have a fix for this issue that increases the risk of a crash. When I spoke with the manager, Jim Mutka, he just told me that they were having issues with their online appointment system, and that why I didn't get any notifications. The funny part is that I did received an email remainder about my appointment. He didn't seem to have much remorse for my time wasted.
