I have nothing but great things to say about Tameron Honda and our Salesman Eddie McClain. Eddie and the entire staff made the process of buying both a new care and a used car extremely easy. Eddie w Honda and our Salesman Eddie McClain. Eddie and the entire staff made the process of buying both a new care and a used car extremely easy. Eddie was absolutely a true professional. His experience is second to none. He not only understood all of the features of the new car we bought, he was very well versed in how his cars features compared to some other cars we were looking at. Eddie was a pleasure to deal with throughout the entire process. He made it easy to make our decision and we are very happy with the decision we made. Eddie sets the standard as far as I am concerned for car salesmen. Others should follow his lead and learn from the best on what customer service is all about. We appreciate everything he did for us and how he actually made buying a new car easy. Way to go Eddie...thanks! More

Waited 30 minutes to pick up my grandmothers van. The name was misspelled in the computer. Her last name is Wright. Service department entered it into the system as Right. Cashier could not find the tick name was misspelled in the computer. Her last name is Wright. Service department entered it into the system as Right. Cashier could not find the ticket, also there is no parking for customers, and no signs showing customers where the service department is located. Overall I will never step foot in this dealership again. Probably the worst experience I have ever had with a dealership. Cashiers are idiots and the managers do not care. More

Short Version: I bought the same car on the same day Short Version: I bought the same car on the same day from Serra Honda for $1,400 less than Tameron Honda's lowest negotiated price. Long Vers Short Version: I bought the same car on the same day from Serra Honda for $1,400 less than Tameron Honda's lowest negotiated price. Long Version: I visited Tameron Honda, Hoover, AL, with the hopes of purchasing a 2013 Accord Coupe EX-L with navigation. One of their newer associates, Katherine (didn't catch her last name), immediately walked outside and offered her assistance. One of the things you will notice right away about Tameron is that their inventory is in a constant state of chaos. There is no organization, meaning the cars are spread out over several lots and models are not grouped together. This means that if you are looking for a specific vehicle, be prepared to spend your day with the salesperson as they hunt it down, because your salesperson doesn't know where the cars are located. After that, even if they don't have the vehicle you are SPECIFICALLY looking for, they will try to sell you the lower end model (EX in this case) that is lacking most of the options you want in your car. They'll do this even after you tell them over and over and over that you aren't interested in anything less than a specific trim level. My sales associate, Katherine, was new to the location and couldn't answer very basic questions about the functions of the vehicle (what certain buttons did, available color combos, mpg, etc.). I gave her a pass because she was new and very friendly and I have no doubt that one day soon she'll know everything she needs to know. When you get to the point of the process that involves negotiating, be aware that your salesperson will talk to a different person every time he/she goes back to see the manager. The operation appears to be very unorganized. The manager that came out and talked to me, Shon Casey, was pushy, rude, and dismissed me within one minute by getting up and walking away. He was upset that I didn't want to sign an agreement to purchase a vehicle BEFORE we negotiated a price. Why would I do that? Anyways, he got up and left with an attitude about one minute after he sat down. He didn't thank me for my time, shake my hand, look me in the eye, etc. so I apologized to Katherine and went to leave Tameron. AFTER, and ONLY after, I asked for his business card, he chased me out into the parking lot and started offering apologies. We spent another 10 minutes talking, and I spent most of the time explaining to him that there is probably a problem with their process if someone who walks in willing to pay cash for a vehicle can't get anyone to tell them the actual price of the car without signing documents and having to deal with random managers on the other side of the negotiations. After all of that, he gave me their lowest price for a 2013 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L w/ navigation, which was $31,300. I drove straight to Serra Honda, which is about 15 minutes away, and an hour later I was driving home in a 2013 Accord Coupe EX-L w/ navigation for.... $29,900. More
11/24/12 - I want to give an update on my dealings with Tameron. I was contacted by Mr. Rob Gallik, Director of Sales, this past week. He made me aware of a situation that kept him from receiving my emai Tameron. I was contacted by Mr. Rob Gallik, Director of Sales, this past week. He made me aware of a situation that kept him from receiving my emails several weeks back and apologized that it took him so long to become aware of my issues. He has restored my faith in Tameron as being a reputable dealer in Birmingham. He made no excuses and took charge of my problems and said he would take care of any issues that were missed at inspection. It did take several weeks for me to find resolution but the bottom line is that Tameron did the right thing which speaks well for this dealership that has been selling and servicing cars and trucks in the Hoover, AL area for many years. I would like to give a special thanks to Heather Lumley and Rob Gallik for their help! I do recommend Tameron Honda for your vehicle needs. ****************************************** I purchased a used truck from Tameron Used Car division back in July of 2012. At the time of purchase, I felt good about the buy because of the price of the truck and due to the fact I was told by the sales representative and manager that the truck had undergone a thorough inspection. Tameron did give me the opportunity to purchase a warranty but I declined. 3 months and 3200 miles later, I took my Toyota truck to Hoover Toyota for its first oil change expecting everything to go routine. I was shocked when the representative told me the truck needed $3500 worth of work - tires dry rotted, truck out of alignment, battery dead, water pump leaking, rack and pinion steering leaking and the tail shaft seal has fluids pouring out of it(their description). To top all of this off, I replaced the battery and discovered the clamp on the negative lead post had been rigged to stay on by the previous owner. The bolt in the lead post clamp is broken off in the clamp. I emailed Mr. Gallik, Director over new and used car sales, about these issue twice and never received a response. I realized buying a used car without a warranty is a gamble; however, when I buy a vehicle from a dealer such as Tameron and they tell me the vehicle has had a full inspection and is in good shape, I take them at their word. I also realize the water pump leaking very well may have occurred after I bought the truck but the dry rotted tires, dead battery, broken battery cable, out of alignment, and the leaking rack and pinion steering(evidence of long-term leakage based on old and new stains) should have been found and corrected at inspection. Even if Tameron refuses to help with the problems, they should have the courtesy to return my emails. I have bought two vehicles from them, but I will not use them again. To summarize my last few weeks dealing with Tameron: After several emails, I finally received a phone call from Tameron after they saw my post on DealerRater.com. This response came from Heather Lumley who has been the one person from Tameron who has been prompt with all her responses and very kind. I was told by Heather that Eric Musso, Used Car Manager would be calling me. He did leave me a message and asked me to call him for we could meet. I returned his call twice and never heard back from him. Being frustrated, Heather had Barry Butts, Director of Public Relations, call me. It took him several days and another call from me before he finally reached out to me. He and I discussed all of my issues plus he had a detailed email outlining these problems. He agreed the dry rotted tires were a safety concerned and that the battery lead post should have been discovered at inspection. He asked me if the lead post cap had a cover on it - which it did not. As for the rest of the problems, he did not say much other than buying a used vehicle always has the risk of things going wrong. He did say that Tameron does make sure all their used vehicle are inspected and safe for the road. I did ask that Tameron replace the tires and battery lead post at no charge but his best offer was for me to bring the truck in and he would offer me a discounted price on all the work including the tires. The most frustrating point of all of this is the tires and battery lead post. Tameron can definitely argue the other problems are just the risk of buying a used truck but to not be responsible for the truck leaving their lot with dry rotted tires is no excuse. Mr. Butts' excuse for the tires was that the Tameron staff are not tire experts! I did email him to say it is ironic that the tire problem was discovered at an oil change by Hoover Toyota on a routine inspection they perform on all vehicles. I guess this makes Hoover Toyota tire experts! To be fair, I had the tires inspected by Estes tires. They stated the tires were in real danger of blowing out a highway speeds. Deep cracks in the sidewalls and between the treads. So my final recommendation, do not buy a used car from Tameron! I have bought two used cars from Hoover Toyota(one with 32,000 miles an one with 125000 miles) and never had any major problems. Go to Hoover Toyota for your car needs! I hope this helps. More
