While working to repair the car in May of 2018, my mechanic found that it had been in a serious front end collision and put back together in a very haphazard way. Poor welds, wires spliced in ways that left the airbag system at risk, etc. The repairs were very obvious to any mechanic doing a routine inspection, so Superior definitely knew the true condition and history of the car. The structural repairs were also disclosed to them at the auction at which they acquired it. Do not buy from this dealer. Unless you want to get burned for $14k like I did... More

Deceptive and fraudulent We bought a used car on April 4 2107 from Superior. At that time, we were sold an extended warranty with the promise of receiving a second car key wi We bought a used car on April 4 2107 from Superior. At that time, we were sold an extended warranty with the promise of receiving a second car key within 4 days and the ability to cancel the warranty if unsatisfied by Nevin, the Finance Manger. On April 6th I called and asked for a copy of the warranty service agreement to be sent via email. I was promised a “16 page pdf” that never arrived. Superior told us our key would be at our local dealership on April 10th. It wasn’t. Superior told us the key was being sent via FedEx (literally, “it’s in the mail”) on April 18th. It wasn’t. I sent a certified letter of cancellation for the warranty on April 19th . It was rejected. I contacted and received guidance from NY State Senator Jeff Klein’s office (he is the leading NY legislator on deceptive used car practices) and I emailed cancellation requests on April 20th and copied the Senator’s legislative aide. I was told I was “ineligible” for cancellation via email by Superior on the 21st, which is contrary to NY State Insurance Law Sections 7901-7909. I had to directly contact the warranty company, GWC Corporation who confirmed that I was eligible to cancel and received a full refund. GWC Corporation has provided me written confirmation that the policy has been voided. The lender in this transaction, New England Federal Credit Union, has put me in touch with their dealership association partner CarGroove, who contacted the dealer requesting full refund on my behalf. The dealer, knowing and acknowledging that the warranty contract is void to Cargroove, still refuses unqualified refund. Formal complaints citing deceptive business practices have been submitted to the NY State’s Attorney General and Nassau County Division of Consumer Fraud. More
