What began with Bill Suntrup opening the first dealership in the 1960s has blossomed into a multi-generational, family-run automotive empire. Just a decade after Bill launched his first dealership, his brother Don joined him, and together, they laid the foundation for what would become the Suntrup Automotive Group.

Bill's sons, Chris and Tom, are partners in Suntrup West County Volvo, with Tom also serving as President and CEO of Suntrup Ford Kirkwood, Suntrup Buick GMC in St. Peters, and Suntrup Ford Westport.
On the other side of the family tree, Don’s children, Butch and Craig, are proud partners in Suntrup Nissan/Volkswagen, Suntrup Kia South, Suntrup Hyundai in South County, and BMW of West St. Louis. As Craig Suntrup reflects, "We all started early in the business, around age 12, doing the grunt work—washing cars, cleaning parts, and painting walls."

I had an excellent experience with Collin and BJ at Suntrup Kia South. The entire shopping process was relaxed. The Suntrup team was very respectful when we needed to leave to test drive other cars and eat dinner; it was an easy decision to return later to seal the deal on our son's replacement vehicle. My salesman Kris (Krispy) Portnoy was amazing, very professional, answered all our questions, very polite and most of all wasn’t pushy. We test drove cars on Saturday I explained we wanted to think about it and on Monday morning let him know I wanted the car. Went in that evening and everything was ready to go. Definitely want to give a shout out to Gina Guiffrida who handled the paperwork she was fun and very professional too. I wasn’t sure what I was looking for when I first stopped by. Sam was patient and not pushy with me. He was honest when he didn’t know something but always attempted to find the answer. BJ in finance was also amazing. He got me a great deal with a warranty. Above and beyond service from both and a great experience, despite a 2 hour wait in finance. Looking forward to servicing my vehicle here and will definitely consider making purchases here in the future. More
