My mother bought her Hyundai E My parents and I went to the Suntrup Hyundai dealership in St Louis, Missouri, because I needed to purchase a new car. My mother bought her Hyundai Elantra at the same dealership and had a good experience, plus, her car has been running great the whole time she has had owned it. When we came to the dealership, we ended up having the same sales representative, Chip Kearney. Chip was very kind, and respectable. Since I am not very experienced in buying new cars, I depended a lot on my parents wisdom. On numerous occasions, Chip gave me time alone with my parents to talk about things. He worked with us extremely well. We were able to buy my accent the day we came in, which is what i had prayed about and desired to do. I am very happy with my decision to go to this dealership and happy with my purchase. More

I was immediately helped when I arrived by a very friendly salesmen named Tommy Daher. Tommy kept in contact with me letting me know of new vehicles that came in to the dealership that he thought I may like. Every car that Tommy showed me was in great condition and extremely clean. I am very happy with the car that I purchased and with Suntrup Hyundai for being also very helpful and caring for their vehicles and costumers. I would recommend using this this dealership to anyone looking for a new or used car. More
That noise....was definitely not in my head In April 2014 my 2011 Hyndai Elantra with 50,000 miles started making a rattling noise upon starting the car. I brought the car to Suntrup Hyundai an In April 2014 my 2011 Hyndai Elantra with 50,000 miles started making a rattling noise upon starting the car. I brought the car to Suntrup Hyundai and was advised that the problem was a cracked ring and they would have to replace the engine. Thankfully my car was still under warrantly. They gave me a loaner and told me it would take approximately 3 weeks to complete the work because of a nation-wide back order on engines. 3 weeks later I received my car with the new engine and took it home. When I started the car up again the noise was still present. I called Suntrup and they told me to bring it back in. They returned the car to me and confirmed that the noise was still present. However, they told me (and wrote up) that the car and engine were functioning normally and there was nothing wrong with the car. I contacted the dealership the next day and spoke to the service manager, Joe Z. Joe was aware of the situation and the issues with my car and told me he had spoken with the mechanic who looked at my car. Joe told me that this noise was a "normal Hyundai noise" and that it was nothing for me to worry about. I asked him how this could possibly be a "normal noise" especially since I had never heard it during the 3 years I owned the car. Joe told me that it was possible I never noticed it and that I was probably especially sensitive to the car since I just had a new engine put in and "it was probably my subconcious hearing this noise as a larger problem than it was." He continued to tell me that I "should not worry about it because the car was under warrantly." I told him I could not beleive this was normal or that I just had to accept that this was a normal part of my car that would be present from now on. I was also conerned about my safety in the car. He told me that if I really wanted to bring it back in a few weeks "they would put their ear to it again." but that he was confident there was no problem with my car. One week later I took my car to Dean Team in Ballwin. Thank goodness for Craig Wheeler and for finding a reputable service department who skipped the BS and treated me with respect. Craig's mechanics immediately heard the noise and identifed the source - which he showed me with the hood up. Craig's team had to replace the upper part of the engine as well as the timing chain. $1,300.00 worth of work and the complete disappearance of the noise proved that this noise was NOT normal and was NOT in my head. AVOID SUNTRUP HYUNDAI unless you have lots of time to spare, don't mind being treated in a condescending manner, and are not worried about your vehicle being serviced properly. More
