Sales manager insults long-time customer I've been a happy VW owner with the Sarasota dealership for five years. I got all the recommended maintenance done when it was due. Between my husband I've been a happy VW owner with the Sarasota dealership for five years. I got all the recommended maintenance done when it was due. Between my husband and me, we have owned five VW models over the years. With the recent buyback activity needed because of diesel issues, my husband and I took two test drives on different models because we wanted to stay with VW. Unfortunately, the model I hoped to buy wouldn't be ready with all the bells and whistles I wanted for another year. Therefore, I bought a different brand, but still hoped to be a VW owner again sometime. The buyback date was one day after my insurance would run out on the car, so I called ahead and asked the recommended person at Sunset VW if I could leave the car there ahead of the buyback date. He checked with someone and said yes, and gave me three names of people I could connect with when I brought the car in. One of those people did welcome me and showed me where to park the car. I asked if I should leave a key with them in the meantime. He asked Sales Manager Charles Kennedy while I waited in the doorway. Mr. Kennedy asked me if I was buying a VW, and I explained briefly that I couldn't this round, and he immediately growled that I couldn't leave my car there: “We’re not a storage facility.” He turned back to his computer, his face contorted into a cruel scowl. He didn’t care that I’d been a good customer. He didn’t care that I’d gotten prior permission or that two of his colleagues had already been accommodating given a bad situation (with the diesel buyback issues). Whatever motivated Mr. Kennedy to behave as he did isn’t my problem. It’s time for him to retire. More

Living in Tampa, we contacted (via the internet) seven VW dealerships in Florida and then very quickly narrowed the list to 3. The other dealerships were too aggressive and were more interested in selling a car on their lot than what we were looking for. Your dealership’s internet sales specialist, Samantha Hardy was very pleasant and professional. She was more interested in what we were looking for than trying to sell us a car. When I explained that we were looking for a new VW Beetle for our daughter, she got back to us with a strong offer and encouraged us to take the drive to Sarasota. The next day we were contacted by Marcus Kohout your sales and leasing specialist. Marcus was pleasant and professional as well and answered questions that I had concerning financing the possibility of a trade in. Because of Samantha and Marcus’ professionalism and there interest in providing us with the car we wanted, we decided to drive to Sarasota. One of the best decisions we’ve made. Marcus had everything ready for us and made the whole process a pleasant experience. Since we were trading in my daughter’s first car “Riley” (2008 VW Beetle), she was quite emotional. As we were waiting to meet with your business manager, April Faulk (another wonderful employee of yours), Marcus was amazing how he talked with our daughter and comforted her. He helped her to make the transition from her beloved first car to her new car. A day later Marcus sent me a text to let our daughter know that Riley was getting a lot of attention and spent the day in the auto spa. My daughter was very happy to hear this which helped her turn the page to a new chapter with her new car.
