"Treated Like a Female Customer Versus A Customer" My overall rating for Webster Groves Subaru is at 80 percent. While I bought what I'm assuming to be a quality used Subaru from them (time will tell w My overall rating for Webster Groves Subaru is at 80 percent. While I bought what I'm assuming to be a quality used Subaru from them (time will tell with that), I felt that the dealer (Jim Carpenter), "handled me" as a female customer versus as just a customer. This impression came through in subtle and not-so-subtle ways. While I'm the first to admit that we did talk about my emotional attachment to my trade-in vehicle that I'd owned for 15 years; one conversation differs from his bringing up the subject several times. Interestingly, Jim knew that I was a combat veteran and retired military officer, but that didn't seem to matter. Hopefully I'm the only female customer who's dealt with this, but I doubt it--usually it's a repetitive pattern. I'd be willing to buy from Jim again in a few years if he loses his outdated approach and attitude--other than this issue, he did a good job. More

Mixed feelings I bought a car from this dealer then a few months later got hit and car was totaled. Went back to this dealer and bought another one. A couple weeks l I bought a car from this dealer then a few months later got hit and car was totaled. Went back to this dealer and bought another one. A couple weeks later I got a message from a woman in the office saying they had made a mistake with the insurance numbers and I owed $700 more. Then Don from finance called and left a message either the same day or the next saying I needed to pay them immediately. That the numbers were off and I needed to take care of it. That was one of the strangest messages I’ve ever received (and I might have even saved it-it was so odd the way he was talking to me-a customer). Ok, but wait, what? How about the word sorry? That was never used. They messed up and wanted me to drive 50min that day(!!) to fix it. Could I mail it? No! I think after talking and arguing for 10 min-(with him threatening that they would come take my car away) - and me saying there was no way I had time to make an unplanned trip from IL to MO that week, he finally accepted my offer to mail it in. It left me uncomfortable ever buying a car from this dealer again. The 2 diff salesmen I had were fine - I’m not much of a haggler so the sales were fast/same day. Just wanted to let others know of my experience fwiw. More

The sales person was very helpful going over all the electronics and paired both my cell phone and my wifes. We were introduced to both the parts manager and the service manager for future service needs. I have no complaints. More
