My wife was enroute to Daytona Beach on 5/19/09, when she experienced car trouble while passing through Albany, Ga.She called me and I got on the internet and found Fordtown of Albany.I was very concerned ab experienced car trouble while passing through Albany, Ga.She called me and I got on the internet and found Fordtown of Albany.I was very concerned about her traveling alone anyway, now we have car trouble to add to the worry!! My wife called me back a short time later and could not say enough about how good she was being treated and how nice the facility was.The service advisor was Mr. Robert Oates, after the repairs were completed he gave my wife his cell number and told her to call if she had any trouble. The next day she received a follow up call from Mr. Oates checking on her and the car.I just want to say THANKS to Fordtown of Albany for the excellent service and courtesy my wife received, we have all been in similar predicaments and Fordtown put my mind at ease. I have purchased 6 vehicles in the past 7 years and this is by far the worst dealership I have EVER dealt with. The salesperson i had was rude and tried to sell me a car I didn't even like... when the one i is by far the worst dealership I have EVER dealt with. The salesperson i had was rude and tried to sell me a car I didn't even like... when the one i wanted was sitting right next to it. She wouldn't tell me how much the car was, although they have a code on every car on the lot. It's written on the front windshield. (If it says 1005559, take the first number and the last number and that's how much they are asking..$19,000) But she couldn't tell me that. We went inside to "ask her sales manager" and he said 21,995. They said they couldn't come down any off that, yet their website clearly stated it was $18,995, then had an option to "click here" for our internet discount, like that wasn't even their lowest price. I understand you have to do a little negotiating when buying a car. But she then said, "Well, that's only if you buy it from one of our internet salespersons." And I asked her if I should stop dealing with her and buy it off the internet becuase that sounds like a much better deal! I drove the car home that night so I took it back the next day. They still wouldn't come down off the price. She called to do a follow up the following day and was extremely rude with me on the phone. One of the internet salespeople called and talked me into coming back another day(b/c I submitted a request online as well). Still wouldn't come down. After walking out of the dealership for the 3rd time, the finance manager stopped me and asked what the problem was... he had seen me up their for 3 different days, new i like the car and wanted to know what the deal was. He pulled me in his office and got my payments right where I wanted them. Why was it so hard for the salesperson to do that??? I never saw the original salesperson after that first day. She did call me the day I was to go to Albany (Yes, I was driving from out of town each time I visited Ford Town) and sign the papers... in a very inconciderate tone, she asked if I was going to come today or just whenever I please. The papers had actually been signed earlier that day, but she had nothing to do with the sale, so she didn't even know. She was far from my salesperon... The said part is, they still gave my commission to that horrible salesperson who was rude, had a bad attitude, and if it had been left up to her, they would still have that car on their lot! She should be flipping burgers somewhere, NOT working in sales. Later that day I got there to pick up the car, which they said would be cleaned, filled up & ready for me. I got there, they didn't know where the keys are... didn't even know where the car was... had no gas in it (so they went and put 5 gallons, which is all they are "allowed" to do on used cars), the sticker was still on the window which left a really nasty sticky film on it I had to scrub off myself, and it was almost out of oil. Come on, has anyone ever purchased a nice car and it hasn't even been serviced or washed? It sat on their lot for over a day from the time the papers were signed til I went to pick it up. They had plenty of time to do it... just didn't, it's not in their policy. i met one person on staff their that was friendly and actually was pushing to sell cars... too bad he doesn't work in sales or they might have a better image! All things considered... I would NEVER buy from this dealership again!!! -5 *'s Customer Serice Rating = Ford Town of Albany I must say, if you are looking for a Ford, Lincoln or Murcury (or a used car)- go to Griffin Ford in Tifton. They have the nicest, friendliest staff that actually appreciates your business and will try their best to get you your best deal- in the car YOU want! I have purchased 3 from them... and they have just been exceptional and outstanding! More
ON 4-21-2007 WE PURCHASED A 2204 FORD EXPEDITION FROM FORD TOWN OF ALBANY. WE PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT ASK TO PAY CASH SO THAT IT WOULD NOT BE INCLUDED IN OUR CAR PAYMENT. I NEVER DID RECEI FORD TOWN OF ALBANY. WE PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT ASK TO PAY CASH SO THAT IT WOULD NOT BE INCLUDED IN OUR CAR PAYMENT. I NEVER DID RECEIVE MY PAPER WORK FOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH I CALLED AND INQUIRED ABOUT IT AND ALSO ON ONE OF MY TRIPS FOR REPAIR SERVICE SPOKE WITH MS. BRUCE AS SHE IS THE ONES THAT HANDLES THE WARRANTIES I AM ASSUMING... WHO KNOWS WITH FORD TOWN. SHE INFORMED ME ALL I NEEDED TO DO WAS KEEP THE PIECE OF PAPER WHERE I HAD BOUGHT IT AND WHEN I CAME IN FOR SERVICE THEY COULD PULL IT UP. THAT IS FINE EXCEPT WHAT IF I CHOSE NOT TO USE THEM, SHE LET ME KNOW THEY DONT SEND OUT THE PAPER WORK. I CAME HOME AND CALLED THE COMPANY THAT WE HAD BOUGHT THE CONTRACT FROM AND LET THEM KNOW I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY PAPERWORK. THEY DID SEND ME SOME AND ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO I RECEIVED IT, DIDNT LOOK AT IT JUST PUT IT IN MY GLOVE COMPARTMENT FOR WHEN I NEEDED IT. WELL LOW AND BEHOLD ITS A USED CAR AND I NEEDED SOMETHING FIXED, HARD TO BELIEVE IT WHEN I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR NOW A LITTLE OVER A MONTH. NEEDLESS TO SAY I TOOK THE CAR TO THE FORD PLACE HERE IN SYLVESTER AND HE BROUGHT IT TO MY ATTENTION THAT WE HAD A 200 DOLLAR DEDUCTIBLE FOR EACH TIME WE USED THIS.. TO MY AMAZEMENT I WAS FURIOUS BECAUSE NO ONE TOLD ME ANYTHING ABOUT A 200 DOLLAR DEDUCTIBLE... NOT ONE THING. SO I IMMEDIATELY STEP OUTSIDE OF THE FORD PLACE AND CALLED FORD TOWN (FROM MY CELL PHONE SO I HAVE RECORD OF IT)AFTER A LONG RUN AROUND THEY FINALLY GOT ME TO THE YOUNG INDIVIDUAL WHO SOLD ME THE POLICY OPIE IS WHAT THEY CALLED HIM, BETTER THAT WHAT WAS GOING THROUGH MY MIND. HE SAID THERE DEDUCTIBLES WERE 100 AND 200, WELL HELLO WHAT IDOT WOULD CHOOSE 200 OVER 100, WE WERE NEVER GIVEN THIS OPTION BECAUSE IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN AN OPTION I WOULD NOT EVEN HAVE PURCHASED THE WARRANTY. IN MY OPINION IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN WORTH THAT..SO TODAY MY HUSBAND WENT UP THE FORD PLACE AND THEY BROUGHT OUT THE PAPER WORK AND SHOWED HIM WHERE HE SIGNED IT, BUT xxxx SO MUCH PAPER WORK IS THROWN AT YOU AND YOU SIGN, THE EXTENDED WARRANTY PERSON NEVER FULLY EXPLAINED ALL OF THIS TO US. I PAID 1469 DOLLARS CASH FOR THIS POLICY SO THAT IT WOULD NOT BE IN ON OUR CAR, SO THEY ADDED IT IN ON OUR CAR AND PUT THAT WE PUT A DOWN PAYMENT SO NOW WE CANT GET OUR MONEY BACK THEY ARE SENDING IT TO OUR FINANCE COMPANY TO PUT TOWARD OUR CAR.. YOU ASK ME WHY AM I ANGRY.. THIS IS MY MONEY THEY ADDED IT IN SO THAT THEY COULD COLLECT TAX ON IT AND FLAT RIPPED US OFF. YOU MAY ASK WHAT I WANT.. I WANT MY MONEY BACK, RIGHT IS RIGHT AND WRONG IS WRONG, THE GUY THAT SOLD US THE POLICY SHOULD HAVE TO REWORK THE AGREEMENT AND GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK. EVERY INDIVIDUAL I COME IN CONTACT WILL KNOW WHAT CROOKS THE FORD TOWN OF ALBANY IS AND IF MR BOB BEARD, GEORGE HARRIS MANAGERS DONT STAND UP AND DO THE RIGHT THING I WILL TRY MY BEST TO WARN CONSUMERS ABOUT THERE WRONG DOING AND CROOKEDNESS. I WAS WARNED ABOUT FORD TOWN AND AGAINST MY BETTER JUDGMENT BOUGHT THE CAR CONSUMERS SHOULD BE WARNED ABOUT THIS. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM OR RECOMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE FROM FLORIDA TO GEORGIA AND PLACES IN BETWEEN I WILL SPREAD THE WORD. More
My reason for giving this dealership this rating was due to their poor workmanship on my 2004 Ford F350 truck. After my truck broke down in Albany, I had my truck towed to this dealership. Once my vehicl to their poor workmanship on my 2004 Ford F350 truck. After my truck broke down in Albany, I had my truck towed to this dealership. Once my vehicle was repaired, I drove about 1 mile and smoke began to come from my truck. Immediately I returned to the dealership, and they discovered that the tech. didn't put coolant in the truck. After leaving the dealership a 2nd time, thick white smoke rushed out from underneath my truck's hood. I returned immediately to the dealership and I had to leave my truck there again. Two days later, I called and spoke to George Harries, and he stated that coolant was coming from the exhaust pipe and an engine head had been blown. The repairing of my truck could take more than 2 weeks due to the engine head has to be sent to another shop for repair according to Mr. Harris. This has been the worst car repair experience I've experienced in my life time! More
