It had a couple cosmetic problems that were corrected shortly thereafter. The 10-speed transmission was shifting hard and there was a loud clunking sound from the driveshaft, however, which caused me to take it back to the dealership for diagnostic. I hadn't caught it during the test drive because it was my first time driving an F-150 and it's hard to catch things after only a short test drive. After owning it for less than a month, I took it back to the dealership on 7/15 where it spent 2.5 weeks in the shop, and they replaced the valve body in the transmission. The day I picked it up from the shop, one of the louver handles for the AC vents popped off. I drove it for 2 more weeks and the transmission was still shifting badly, and the clunk from the driveshaft was even worse (also lost another louver handle in that time). I scheduled to take it back to the shop on 8/26, because that was the day I was told a loaner would be ready for me. We drove about 100 miles out of town the weekend right before that, and the morning I was to take it to the shop I noticed it had leaked several ounces of transmission fluid on the driveway. As I should have expected, there was no loaner available for me. As of the writing of this review on 9/5, there *still* is no loaner available for me, and the transmission tech hasn't even looked at truck. Of the 79 days I've owned the vehicle (and been making payments on it), it has spent 20% of that time in the shop. Since the transmission tech won't be able to look at the truck until next week, it will likely be several more weeks before I get it back. The best I can hope for is a whole new transmission, but that probably won't happen and would likely take over a month anyway. From what I can gather with my interactions so far, I'll have to ID the source of the clunk and fix it myself. The Service Team is doing what they can with the resources available to them and the policies put in place for them by the dealership - in other words, if you buy a vehicle here hope and pray that you don't have problems with it. For what it's worth, my salesman was really helpful and responsive until after I bought the truck, and then he immediately moved to Hudson Nissan which owns Summerville Ford. I've sent an email to the Sales Manager who approved the deal, asking her how I should proceed, but of course didn't get a response. I forwarded that email to the GM 2 days ago, and also haven't gotten a response. I thought "maybe I should reach out to Hudson since that's the parent company", but get a load of this: https://summervillenissan.com/sales-team John Smith and Jane Smith. EmailAddress@Email.com. It would be kind of funny, but the whole situation has made me lose my sense of humor. I genuinely feel I have no recourse, but since leaving a bad review seems to be the only way to get a response from someone other than my Service Advisor (who is just doing her job), that's what I'm doing. Absolutely terrible service department. Took my car in for a recall repair--a door latch and a brake pedal bumper. I called for an appointment in July. I was told the "recall team" would Took my car in for a recall repair--a door latch and a brake pedal bumper. I called for an appointment in July. I was told the "recall team" wouldn't be in until Sept. 16. I made an appointment for 8am. Dropped the car off the evening of Sept. 15, so it would be there first thing in the morning. As of 7pm on 9/19, my car still has not been serviced. How long does it take to replace a door latch and brake pedal bumper? No explanation from the dealer. SI was told there was a specific "recall team" that wouldn't be available until Sept. 15 when I made the appointment, so staffing issues does not suffice as a legitimate excuse. Why did I even bother to make an appointment over a month in advance? This is entirely unacceptable. This is the second time I have tried to act responsibly on a recall notice, and this same dealer couldn't do fulfill the request over a period of several days. If there is a corporate Ford complaint center online, I will be visiting it next. The fact that there is no explanation from them makes the situation even worse. Go anywhere else! More
Frowny Face. Summerview Ford had a price of $22,999 posted on their website. Made an appointment to drive over two hours to view and purchase the car. The de Summerview Ford had a price of $22,999 posted on their website. Made an appointment to drive over two hours to view and purchase the car. The dealership showed a price over three thousand higher than the price on the website. When told that was not the advertised price dealership showed the website having the car for $23,999; the dealership changed the website to reflect a price that was $1,000 higher than the advertised price. Mentioned that thought price was $22,999 and not $23,999, would not admit to changing the price. The website shows $500 off of any car. Dealership would not honor the $500 coupon and said it's too difficult and not for every car. On the website at the dealership the website reflected "click here to get five hundred off" on the same page as the actual car and directly below the price. Asked something to the effect of why that is there with that vehicle on website if does not apply to that vehicle. Dealership would not honor the $500 advertisement on their website. Dealership changed price on website when closing the deal and said we should have called. The salesman said would ask $23,000 out the door price. After being high balled close to $25,000 and $24,000 and pressured to sign for wayy more than comfortable with and not listening to words being used person claiming to be manager gave a number in the $24 thousands and then would not honor the previously given lower price during the negations. Dealership representative agent presented as the manager took us to a room where the vehicle was shown on a screen with some numbers and tried to show that they were selling the vehicle at a loss. Representative was very rude and calling us 'losers' and saying and showing they do not give fair deals to big time losers. Dealership said they take instant cash offers. Instant cash offer for that vehicle is $14,000 and fair retail in in outstanding condition is around $19,000 according to book value. We would have paid $23,000. More
We explained right away exactly what we wanted to test drive (2021 Ford Escape Hybrid) and what other brands we were considering (Hyundai, Honda, Toyota) and wanting to test drive. We were very firm that drive (2021 Ford Escape Hybrid) and what other brands we were considering (Hyundai, Honda, Toyota) and wanting to test drive. We were very firm that we would not make a decision until we had test driven all those brands. Right up front, he insisted that they would not sell us a car without adding all of the dealer "extras" (basically overcharging for items we did not want), including dark window tinting ($399) that is not even legal in many states outside of SC. This dealership also added a "market adjustment" of $2,995 over the MSRP plus add-ons...which he said all the dealerships are adding because of the business suffering from the COVID economic downturn. The salesperson was very good and friendly up to the point where we insisted that we were not buying the car we had test driven that day regardless of the "deal". Then he became decidedly unfriendly and acted like we were wasting his time. We found out very quickly from calling around that while some dealerships are trying to get people to pay above MSRP, with "market adjustments", not all dealerships do this and we found several within driving distance that were not charging these fees. Glad we walked away from this dealership because in the end, we got a better car at a lower price. Out of the 6 or 7 different dealerships we visited before buying our car, this was the worst experience of them all. More
If I could give zero stars I would. Please shop around before making a vehicle purchase here. Bought a brand new Ford F-150 and a used 2017 Mazda the same day. The transmission completely went out on the before making a vehicle purchase here. Bought a brand new Ford F-150 and a used 2017 Mazda the same day. The transmission completely went out on the Mazda a few days after buying it. I have not had the car less than a month and it’s been in the shop half the time. I have tried to contact the manager Tony Rodriguez numerous times to talk about the sale and he is never in the office or returns calls. No one else in the dealer is willing to help. I wanted to trade the car in for a new Bronco ( Elvis knew that’s what we originally wanted, and there where none in stock at the time. Told us buy the Mazda and when the Bronco comes in he would buy the Mazda and get me in the Bronco) well when they did receive the Bronco a week later when we got the financials for it they said the Mazda trade in would be $5,000 less. So now we are in the hole $5,000 dollars on a car that is broken and we have had less than two weeks. Our understanding for buying the Mazda that day was that they where taking a huge loss on it selling it to us for the price they did. I know we should have done more research but at this point we had been there all day and we where buying the two cars so we where tired and hungry and ready to go. Sadly we trusted them because we had purchased two cars from them in the past so we trusted they where being honest. There is more to this but it’s to many details to get into. Since we got no where trying to make something right with the Mazda we figured we will just get a down payment and trade for the Bronco and take the loss. Learned a lesson and move on. We go back in there this week to look at the Bronco and get financials for it with the trade and down payment and we see the Broncos have a an added sf market adjustment charge of 2,995.00. This time we take our time to question them about this charge and we are told that all Ford dealers are adding this because of market demand. I figure I do some calling around and shopping and come to find out they are the only Ford dealer in the area adding this charge to the Broncos and new cars. Other dealers are just charging the msrp of the new vehicles. I go back to them and question them about that charge now that I know this info. I say since I made a very bad deal before and I’m negative will this added charge make me be negative in the future once more Broncos are available? I am told no because all dealers are adding that charge!!!! Lies!!! That is straight out lying to consumers. If I would not have shopped around and called they would have gotten me in the hole even further the whole time acting like they wanted to help me make a great deal. When I brought it to their attention that I had gone to other dealers their attitude changed to very rude and unhelpful. All of a sudden the main manager will be gone and they do not know when he will return and no one will help. It’s disappointing because like I said we have used this dealer in the past and always had a great experience but something has changed. They lie to make the sell and then they don’t want to help. My Mazda is still at stokes Mazda waiting on a transmission and I’m in the hole about $5,000. I am going to a different Ford dealer and purchasing a different vehicle and just taking my loss. I will file a formal complaint with Ford and state consumer protection agency. I will also contact a lawyer because there was some numbers presented to us the day of purchase that I am not sure where they where obtain because the price of the vehicle was different on reports I paid to get. Just be cautious when purchasing a new or used vehicle here do some dd and shop around. If the manager or someone would have returned a call to just talk about the experience and tried to do something to make us happy this review would not have been written but it’s been a lot of lying the whole time from everyone there and no one willing to help. They said they where trying to help and make us happy but they where lying even more to get us in an even bigger negative equity. More

Five associates would not even acknowledge me when I walked in. Had to stand there and practically had to force a response from someone. Just moved here from Ga. and been dealing with Ford for twenty years. No more, will take my business elsewhere. Stay away. More
