He was fast and effective and communicated through email the whole time with me. I didn't have to wait very long at all for my new car. From my initial meeting with Jeff, to dealing with Blake, to signing papers with Cheryl. I never once felt like I was being pushed into making a decision. My leasing consultant Blake took the time to go other the car with me in great detail, and told me if I had any questions at all after leaving to not hesitate to call. I walked in thinking I would be having a higher car payment than I currently had, and come to find out with all of the great incentives they were able to get me into a fancier, more sporty car with lower payments. I have told so many people about what excellent service I received. I feel like great service is hard to come by these days, but not at Suburban Hyundai of Troy!! Thanks again for making my experience a good one! :) More
David Arndt, Used Car Sales Manager is unprofessional (Troy) 6/30/15 -- I drove across town with my title, keys and registration with every intention to purchase an advertised vehicle last night driving across t 6/30/15 -- I drove across town with my title, keys and registration with every intention to purchase an advertised vehicle last night driving across town to visit a salesman named Shira Colish, the Suburban Collection's Client Care Manager who was extremely motivated to sell a Hyundai Tucson which had been on the lot for more than 45 days. When I called to make an appointment to come out, she said to come out NOW, it's the end of the month and we'll be very motivated to sell this Tucson with everything I wanted on the car with a better price. I arrive and ask for Shira and they look at me like I'm in the wrong place.... two salespeople look at each other... "Shira, we have no salesperson named Shira." One of the guys said I'll help you..... and I felt like these guys were stealing a sale... I felt very uncomfortable. One of the guys, Steve Elich, a salesman said... oh, she's in phone sales, I'll work with you. I felt very uncomfortable.... like this guy was stealing her sale. Steve turned out to be a was a descent guy, fair salesperson but after waiting awhile, we drove the 2014 certified, pre-owned Tucson I called about (which came from Minnesota). Comfortable ride but the hood was starting to rust and the driver side window had a crack right in front of my face.... which was spreading by the moment. I brought it up to Steve and he said he'll take it up with their curmudgeon of a used car salesperson, David Arndt, who obviously does not know how to treat people fairly. We found out that very quickly. Mr. Arndt greeted us with an attitude from the start as we began working out a deal. Some people are just negative, don't know why he was treating us like this... the first thing he said was the car in $19.5... the price it's marked and its not going any lower. I said there is no wiggle room.... he said absolutely now, what do I want to pay because he's rather take it to auction where he can make more than selling it to me. Why was he so mean.... was he personally dealing with tough times and let's it out on others. Personally, my wife died three months ago at the age of 50 and my 24-year-old daughter has been diagnosed with epilepsy and continues to have seizures... she can't even drive a car at this point. ... but somehow we all find ways to move on and treat people as they would want to be treated..... I frankly don't know why Mr. Arndt is so mean. I found it disturbing then we were coming in from outside, Mr. Arndt swung the door open and instead of holding it open for my friend Karen, let the door hit her.... Hardly a gentleman and poor manners for a man who wanted to sell us a car. Our salesperson saw that and even gave us a look like he was sorry, I know Steve was embarrassed. It's interesting, after visiting other Troy Motor Mall dealerships.... we mentioned him to other Troy Motor Mall salespeople and two others also know him and said he has a reputation, "old school business with new school idea". It is just hard to believe in this competitive business of selling cars, how you can treat, actually mistreat people in this day and age. I believe Mr. Arndt may want to find another line of work or retire as another salesperson told us. The certified, pre-owned 2014 Hyundai Tuscson we almost bought from him had been on the lot for over two months was looking less and less desirable with the window crack and his bad attitude. While he wasn't happy about replacing it, he finally agreed but was obviously taking the money out in my trade-in as he told me that he was giving me more for my car than it was truly worth. Meanwhile, I had been given the value from three other dealerships that evening including an Autotrader confirmed price (with my exact VIN number) for more money.... but Mr. Arndt said he was doing me a favor my giving a price lower for my car and replacing the cracked window. I asked him how he can sell a certified, pre-owned car with a dangerous glass whole spreading. He said it didn't have to be replaced but he'll do it anyway if it would make me happy. If I would have seen another vehicle at Glassman Hyundai last night, I would have bought it. Their staff and used car manager treated us like family.... the experience was like night and day. Karen actually just bought another car there a week ago..... they just didn't have another certified Tucson or Sante Fe that filled my needs.... but they were still accomodating. I am so disappointed with Suburban Hyundai and David Arndt's way of doing business. Other than the computer-generated message I received last night, I do hope I receive a call from one of Suburban's owners: Dear Customer: Thank you for your recent visit to Suburban Hyundai and the opportunity to earn your business. Sincerely, Dave Arndt Pre-Owned Sales Manager Suburban Hyundai Today, after leaving a message on the Suburban Automotive site, I was very clear about my awful experience.... Adamm Davis, the import sales manager wanted to hear my whole story and asked if he could have someone call me today to make things right. I reluctantly said yes, He had another salesman, Oleg Kovtan call me and had to work up a deal he said..... hours go by and he ends up calling me back with the exact same price and exact trade-in for my car as that loser gave me last night.... what a waste of my time AGAIN!!!! I told both of these guys how disappointed I was..... they both promised to back the deal more fair but didn't offer me one single dollar more. I told Adamm Davis that not only would I not want to buy this car "which was already filled with bad karma" but I would NEVER step foot in Suburban Hyundai.... Adamm felt bad but not bad enough to fix this bad deal. Stay far away from this dealership because you want to be treated right..... want a Hyundai..... go to Glassman Hyundai in Southfield. He really made me feel comfortable and was extremely knowledgeable in the vehicles I was interested in and tailored a line of vehicles to our needs and budget on the spot. Manager also very approachable and down to earth personality , explained and communicated well about the vehicle.
