Review of experience with Suburban Hyundai of Troy I was very impressed with the salesman, the sales manager and the financial person handling the paperwork. They were all friendly, courteous and profe I was very impressed with the salesman, the sales manager and the financial person handling the paperwork. They were all friendly, courteous and professional. I own a business that stresses customer service and a genuine, caring attitude and the people I dealt with during my leasing performed the way I would want my employees to treat customers and prospects. This is my first "foreign" car in many, many years. I had not considered Hyundai and had never heard of its Genesis brand until the Detroit Auto Show. The young man presenting the vehicle at the show was very professional and knowledgeable about the two vehicles on display and their features. It was his manner and attitude during our conversation after his "public" presentation that created the interest in me to visit Genesis dealerships. The first dealership I visited was a disaster. The salesman, although young, fit the stereotype of the "seedy", used-car hustler. When his sales manager was called over, it wasn't much different. I would not lease a vehicle from that dealership under any circumstances. The comparison with my experience at Suburban Hyundai was startling. What a difference honesty, respect and professionalism make! I've now been driving my G-80 for about two weeks and like the car very much. I'm sure I will miss the seat massage feature that was on my Lincoln MKS when I make long trips and I wish there were USB ports for charging my grandchildren's devices in the back seats, but, all in all, it's an excellent vehicle. More

I was treated very courteously when I left after my test drive to complete my research of other brands; that is not something I can say about many dealerships. I own a home in Oakland, MI but currently serve in the USCG and am legal resident of Alaska. I was told that I was not able to purchase a vehicle (from another dealer) through the special M-pricing for residents of Detroit (last year) and then Michigan (this year) because I do not have a MI license although I met all other requirements of living in Michigan. Ben went out of his way to contact corporate Hyundai and finally the get answer we wanted. Once cleared to purchase, he met with me and my family to select the vehicle we wanted. We love our SantaFe Sport AWD. Thank you Ben and Suburban Hyundai. More

Treated horribly I went in to there with a promotion to test drive a car and receive a gift card. From the moment I walked in the door, I met Jamie Waters and I was tr I went in to there with a promotion to test drive a car and receive a gift card. From the moment I walked in the door, I met Jamie Waters and I was treated with contempt and disdain like I was "just wasting their time." They arbitrarily set hours they redeem the promotion and I was not within those hours. I explained I legitimately was there to try a vehicle, and was told by Jamie that "Tell you what, if you buy a car from me, I'll validate your promotion.". So I guess I wasn't outside their promotion hours after all. After being talked to rudely enough by the Jamie, I asked to speak to the manager, and met Jeff Bushar. I was there with a legitimate curiosity to learn more about Hyundai, and the promotion did it's job getting me to come there, which is the point of it. I thought that speaking to the manager would clear things up from the rude treatment I received from the front, but man I was wrong. I was once again dismissed as an annoyance, and when I explained that I wasn't there to waste anyone's time, I legit wanted to try one of their vehicles, Jeff then gave me a backhanded-apology, saying "He's sorry I was spoken to like that, but they get 100 people in the doors a day wanting the promotion and he gets to set the hours in which it is redeemed, as well as WHO he gets to redeem the promotion with." So you would think Hyundai would be happy to get 100 extra chances a DAY to convert people to their cars, but rather their salespeople would like to treat anyone like dirt and dismiss them without even asking me ANY questions other than "You got a coupon right?" I explained that I thought he'd like to know the treatment his customers are getting from the front desk, and he curtly told me, "Oh I am well aware of what's going on." So he must be perfectly fine with this treatment! I politely tore up my promotion, told him that him and his employees succeeded indeed in changing my mind about Hyundai, and left. Unfortunately, they changed it to never to bother walking in those doors again. I have NEVER left a car dealership feeling the way I did, and will be making sure their corporate office is aware of everything. What a jerk! More
