Buying a car from Carbone Subaru was the worst mistake I have ever made. When I purchased the car 2 weeks ago I ended up staying at the dealer for about 8 hours because the car that I wanted was not inspected. It wasn't until after I had signed the papers for the car that they advised me the car was finishing up its inspection, and in addition they told me that the trunk would not open and would need to be fixed. That was 12/31/20. The car was just taken to get fixed today, but only because I went into the dealership to see why I was not called to get the car fixed. And worst of all, when I tried to explain that I would expect a car that cost $16,000 to have a working trunk, the guy who sold me the car, Zack, mentions how he spends much more money than that on cars, as if that was even the point. This place is filled with disrespectful employees who don't care about customer service, including the sales manager Fred Diamond, who was less than helpful getting everything resolved. I am glad that I will never have to go to Carbone Subaru again and will tell everyone I can to avoid them at all costs. More
Are you serious ?!!! How do you buy a 43k car two months into it and it has huge electrical problems and you are paying for extended warranty which says it covers electrical issues and they tell you they into it and it has huge electrical problems and you are paying for extended warranty which says it covers electrical issues and they tell you they don’t wanna pay for any of the repairs that the warranty covered everything “ accept “ the issue that it is having ? They are out of their minds and the customer service hung up on me when I was talking to them ! This car was not gone through properly before they put it on their website for sale .. I feel that’s unacceptable More
I recently (Sept. of 2020) purchased a 2020 Outback XT and the process was efficient, reasonable and the salesman Zach, was very helpful/professional. The time spent to complete the paperwork was very min and the process was efficient, reasonable and the salesman Zach, was very helpful/professional. The time spent to complete the paperwork was very minimal and as close to “hassle-free” as it gets in my experience. More
So, here’s an interesting story for those of you who are bored and like to read. 6 months ago I purchased a used truck from Carbone Subaru of Troy. Less than 48 hours of owning my truck it developed a noise in the rear axle. I promptly returned the vehicle to the dealer for repair. Weeks go by as I’m being told “due to the virus we are short staffed so things are taking longer than expected” Understanding the gravity of Covid I patiently wait, weeks turn to months and zero communication from Carbone Subaru of Troy. I made continuous attempts to get updates. I tried numerous phone calls and an endless stream of emails with minimal result. 3 months later and at my wits end I became increasing less tolerant of the run around. I was finally contacted by the used car manager. I was given a laundry list of lame excuses as to why it has taken over 3 months. I come to learn they simply forgot, forgot? Seriously? They forgot ? Seems more like ignored . ya can’t make this stuff up. With the manager now involved, I’m promised fast results, not surprised, I had to wait another 2 weeks. I finally get my truck back nearly 4 months later. With the promise this will never happen again. 3 months pass and my truck throws a “check engine” light. I hook up my code reader and get 3 codes which I jot down. I contact the manager (on his personal cell number) as I was unable to reach their self proclaimed “award winning service” department. I finally get an appointment and make arrangements to drop my truck off, with the promise of a better experience. Boy oh boy was I wrong! Nearly a week later and several phone calls they still dint return my calls. Once again I reach out to the general manager. I am immediately contacted by a service manager who informs me the truck is now not throwing the codes and there is nothing they can do dispite the fact I had given them the codes. He stated they had driven the truck and no light came on. Fed up with the xxxxxxxx I tell him I’m coming for my truck. To my surprise when I pull into the lot there is my truck sitting exactly where I left it exactly how I parked it (purposely diagonal in the spot) They never test drove or even looked at it. I was furious! I walked in demanded my keys and drove off. In less than a half mile the light popped on! They never even bothered. Moral to the story, don’t ever go to Carbone Subaru of Troy unless you wish to be carBONED by a dealership that cares more for the bottom line than their customers. UPDATE: weeks later there has been ZERO attempts to fix this The lack of action says it all More
My experience leads me to believe I was a victim of a bait and switch. I was told they had the exact interior and exterior of the make and model I was looking for, made an appointment for the next aftern bait and switch. I was told they had the exact interior and exterior of the make and model I was looking for, made an appointment for the next afternoon, received a call around noon asking me to confirm my appointment, got there at 2:30 and was first told they couldn’t find it in inventory and was then told it was sold. They of course offered me one in another color, which struck me as the plan all along. I also heard another customer told that the car they had come to see had been sold. I had driven almost two hours to get there. I wouldn’t do business with these guys unless you had it all nailed down and documented before you showed up. Even then there’s not much you can do if they don’t keep up their end of the deal, so I suggest you look elsewhere. More

Eventually I am told I will need to speak to the sales manager, Fred Diamond, but he is on the phone. So all I can hear is this Fred guy yelling into his phone about how he hates New York State, hates Hillary Clinton, and hates Democrats. So I am thinking to myself, well I am a Democrat, so I guess you hate me too and don't want my business. I just walked out. F these people, I will never again do business with any Carbone auto dealer. More

BUYER BEWARE . This dealership lacks Honesty and Integrity and is not interested in a long term customer relationship. Do NOT purchase an extended warranty policy . This dealership lacks Honesty and Integrity and is not interested in a long term customer relationship. Do NOT purchase an extended warranty policy from MARK PAONE, Business Manager at Carbone Subaru of Troy. He lied and misrepresented the policy coverage in order to make a sale. After speaking with GWC Warranty Corporation, I learned that NONE of the promised coverage was part of the plan he sold me. I canceled the policy the next day and over 1 month later, I am STILL waiting for the refund check of $2,338 that was promised last month, despite that GWC Warranty Corporation has confirmed processing the refund check back to the Carbone Dealership last month. Despite many phone calls, voicemails and emails, I have received no response back from Mark Paone. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP. More
