It was excellent to work with Greg and the other parts of the sales team. They were very helpful in finding the specific car I wanted and bringing it to their office in a timely manner. I was a little put of the sales team. They were very helpful in finding the specific car I wanted and bringing it to their office in a timely manner. I was a little put off by the financing process and the service contract sales; I have a relative who is a subaru mechanic who suggested that the car was well built enough to not to purchase the (pricey) extended warranty. However, Carl suggested that "he's got 20 guys out there (service mechanics) who would suggest otherwise" [direct quote]. Basically which is it... is the as car well built and reliable as the sales team told me or is it going to start falling apart after 36,000 miles like finance manager said. I guess we will see but I did not appreciate his tone in this matter. More
I purchased a care at this dealership In May 2012. If I had known about this site before now I would have written a review much sooner. All in all, and good experience became very bad when a lie told to me had known about this site before now I would have written a review much sooner. All in all, and good experience became very bad when a lie told to me by management took me calling Gov. Corbetts office after a recommendation from the States Consumers Protection Agency. I had moved to Pittsburgh at the beginning of May for a new job, and had no plans of moving back to CT. I went care shopping and had no intention of purchasing a car in one day, but when I was at Day, they had a used car that I could pay out of pocket for and it was a very good deal, so I decided to purchase it. I still had a CT drivers license since I had just recently moved. It was the last day of the month and they wanted to sell the car so they could get their numbers for the month. I asked if I was going to have a problem registering the car the following day once I received my PA drivers license. The sales man had to go and ask his manager because he was not sure of the answer. His Manager informed me that It would not be a problem to register the car in PA even if I purchased it under a CT license. Well, needless to say I should have trusted my initial instinct. Once I got my license a week later and attempted to register the car I was not able to. I was told I would need to drive back to CT, get another CT license, register the car there, get the title there, and then come back and do all of that in PA. I did not live in CT any longer, and I was starting my new job and that was not a possibility for me. Not only did the company not try to assist me until I eventually called the Governors office, which I was still surprised that I did, but they lied about the situation on the Better Business Bureau website, where I filed a complaint. The manager indicated I had specifically said I decided to stay in PA once I purchased the car. Not only did I have text messages as proof that was not the case, but I had a signed lease indicating the same. This was my first car buying experience, and while the gentleman who sold me the car was very apologetic, but he did attempt to assist me. The woman at the Governors office told me she could not believe how long it took for a manager to get back to her, and she said she would never recommend this dealership to anyone she knew due to how rude they were over the phone. Eventually I did get my PA title and registration thanks to the Governors office, but the run around, and the fact that the dealerships solution was for me to drive back to CT waste all that money to register the car there, get a title and ID there then turn around and do it all again here, was outrageous to me. The bottom line, this place is probably no worse then the rest, but I think you have to be a pretty heartless person to manipulate and lie to a first time, young buyer to have a better quota on a used, overpriced car to begin with. trust your gut when buying a car! After visiting 2 other subaru dealerships, I had a good feeling when I entered Day Subaru's show room. I got the impression (correctly!) that they wanted to sell me a car. I felt that the negotiations we feeling when I entered Day Subaru's show room. I got the impression (correctly!) that they wanted to sell me a car. I felt that the negotiations were fair and honest -- and in the end, Day Subaru gave me the best offer. Here are my random thoughts about Day Subaru I liked Greg as a salesman --- expecially compared with the other 2 salesmen at the other 2 dealerships. I thought he was personable and sincere. I liked interacting with Kirk as well. I thought he was professional and I felt that I received a good and fair price from him. He agreed to include a few extras that were not in the "Limited" model but that were in the "Touring" model. A few items are not yet in when I came to buy the car and I am confident that they will be in shortly and that I will receive a call to come in to get them. The only reason I went to Day Subaru on Saturday was because on Friday evening, my husband and I were researching Subarus in the Pittsburgh area. I entered my email address and immediately heard from Steve by email. That's why I went out there! Later on Saturday, I received responses from 2 other dealerships but it was too late for them; I had already been to the salesman who sold me my previous Subaru and decided to go to Day because of the quick response I received from Steve by email. I appreciated my orientation to the car by Greg. He took considerable time teaching me how to use the blue tooth phone directory. He was very patient. I liked Carl Petro. He was obviously trying to sell me the extended warranties and other packages, but he did it in a very nice way. When my husband bought a car 4 years ago from another auto maker, I think we were both wanted to reach over and shake the guy --- he went on and on for well over an hour trying to sell us all kinds of warranties and packages. Carl had a nice sense of humor and a nice way about him. It was nice to meet the service department manager for the future. I also think Day Subaru offeres something unique, that other dealerships don't:: specials for ladies on Wednesdays! I liked that! Very clever. I am going to try to schedule my appts. on Wednesdays. All in all, a very pleasant experience. I was pursued doggedly by 2 other salesmen from 2 other Subaru dealerships. For some reason after meeting them, I felt a loyalty to Greg and Kirk and just didn't want to pit these other dealerships against Day in order to whittle down the price for a couple hundred dollars. Khalid was responsive and kept me informed as I anxiously awaited the arrival of a Crosstrek XV (limited). He called to let me know when it came in & put a 'sold' with my name on the car! The day of the sale awaited the arrival of a Crosstrek XV (limited). He called to let me know when it came in & put a 'sold' with my name on the car! The day of the sale Khalid was excited with me, showed me around the dealership so I would be comfortable on future visits for maintenence, and all the paperwork moved smoothly. More
my time at day Subaru was very pleasant thanks to my salesman Josh. He was knowledgeable and took the time to answer all of my questions, no matter how repetitive or silly. The rest of the dealership ex salesman Josh. He was knowledgeable and took the time to answer all of my questions, no matter how repetitive or silly. The rest of the dealership experience was overall pleasant as well but I feel like it was Josh who really took the time to make my purchase easy. More
Wonderful, friendly and helpful staff who ACTUALLY listened to my needs and found me a car that fit into my budget. They seemed genuinely interested in helping me and not just making a sale. I would listened to my needs and found me a car that fit into my budget. They seemed genuinely interested in helping me and not just making a sale. I would recommend this dealership to any of my friends or family and I will spread the good word around Pittsburgh. There is a 99.999% chance that I will be a repeat customer. I look forward to their help in the future if/when anything goes wrong with the car...hopefully not for a while. More
I could not be happier with my entire experience at Day Subaru. Ron, Pete and Carl were absolutely wonderful. And I just want to share one more thing that I thought was a great demonstration of custome Subaru. Ron, Pete and Carl were absolutely wonderful. And I just want to share one more thing that I thought was a great demonstration of customer service and going 'the extra-mile': Pete called me 3 days after I purchased my new car to let me know that I had left some CD's in my traded-in vehicle and that he would hold them for me so I could swing by and pick them up at any time. I truly appreciate that!! I will be sure to give Day Subaru a perfect score on my survey. More
Howard did a great job highlighting all the main features of the Legacy we purchased. We have been considering this car for awhile, but still learned new things about the car. He was consise and very plea of the Legacy we purchased. We have been considering this car for awhile, but still learned new things about the car. He was consise and very pleasant to work with. He introduced us to many other people at the dealership and made us feel very welcomed and appreciated, as did the rest of the staff. Carl did a wonderful and efficient job with all the complicated closing paperwork. He was also very nice to deal with. I communicated with Steve via email before visiting the dealership. His prompt, professional response helped us decide to visit Day. More
I have no problems with this dealership. Staff was friendly and professional, and the facility was very comfortable and neat. The price of the new car I purchased was a good price, but not great. friendly and professional, and the facility was very comfortable and neat.
