Poor Customer Service all around We have a 2008 Nissan Altima with 89,000 miles that we bought used 6 months ago. Driving back to school we found out it has CVT Transmission problems. We have a 2008 Nissan Altima with 89,000 miles that we bought used 6 months ago. Driving back to school we found out it has CVT Transmission problems. We dropped it off at this dealer. Nissan of State College wanted to charge us $4000 for a new transmission. We found out by searching online Nissan extended the warantee to 10 years or 120k miles, whichever comes first for 2007 through 2013’s. This dealer never told us this, they told us our car was a few weeks out of warantee. When I brought this to their attention they said to try calling their corporate office. It took us over a week to hear back from their corporate rep. Nissan customer service or this dealer would not give us a break on the repair, not even a small discount. Their repair price was higher than all others around. When my daughter went to pick up the car so we could take it to another repair shop they tried to charge her for diagnostics. The diagnostic report was a joke, all it showed was what I had asked them to check. Bottom line, if you own a car with a cvt transmission sell it before the warantee runs out, and stay away from Nissans. I am a business owner and have never written a negative review. I would like to send out a warning to other Nissan owners to watch out for this and hopefully in the future this dealer and others will help with theses faulty transmissions. They should have been recalled. More

I'm from another country and because of this I didn't have a cosigner or credit history when I decided to buy a car. After looking on several places for car options, always I was denied. My hope to buy a car with the time started to be as something far; one day one friend told me I will ask to a friend of mine who works at Nissan and for me was like: ok, another shoot and this one will be the last. I told my friend, this is the car I'm looking for, I told her this is my budget, and every time I'm denied because my credit history and because I don't want to use a cosigner. She told me: you will be impressed in a week. In a week a bought the car, Tom IS AMAZING!!! He call me and we talked over the phone (BTW my English is pretty bad), before Tom always I felt like I was on a CIA job interview, 300 hundried questions to tell me NO!!!! And I never felt like a customer, I felt like a product. I have been longer in a line for food that the time I spent with Tom, he had everything ready for me, he was direct to the point with the numbers, and he helped me out because of my English with all the process over the phone with the car insurance company. He treated me like a person, I felt special that day. I counted the time: 45 minutes and I was driving my car!!!! Three days after I bought the car I noticed the car was without floor mats, I was so happy that I never noticed this, I texted him and I got brand news mats for the car. And him always followed-up with me for all the necesaries process after someone buy a car. Beside all this, check for all the offers that you have after you buy a car, I think is amazing the service en General. More

Upon entering the dealership I was greeted by a woman sitting at her desk who informed me that the saleswoman I was supposed to be meeting was unavailable. The woman offered to assist me from there out. Before she even asked what vehicle I was there to drive she started to ask me about financing - she did not ask me what my budget was or ideal payment. I told her that I have financing already taken care of; she asked me who through and what the rate was so I told her and she started to tell me that they also work with that lender and could do something similar if not a lower rate. I told her I wasn't ready to buy just yet, that I wanted to drive the vehicle. She asked which car I was to drive and I told her then she asked me for my driver's license - standard - and then she asked me for my insurance and registration. I asked her if she needed that for a test drive and she said no, but she would get my paperwork started. I told her I was not interested in that yet, that I just wanted to drive the car. When she left to go get the car and drive it to the front a man, who did not introduce himself, pointed to my SUV and asked if that's what I would be trading in and asked to take my key so he could appraise it. I declined at that point. Finally, we went for a test drive; the woman came with me, but gave me no insight as to where to drive the vehicle - fortunately, I know the area well and decided on a route with plenty of turns and hills to determine how the car would handle. As we were driving, she offered very little information on the car. When I would ask she would say "I'm not sure" or "I'll have to check when we get back." When we did get back to the dealership I explained to her that I preferred this make/model over the Honda I drove a week earlier, but I still wanted to weigh my options and take some more time to decided. I looked over the vehicle and thanked her for letting me drive it. She said it was a good car and that the color, red, would look nice with my hair color. We went inside for a couple more minutes and I explained to her that I will be ready to buy in the next month after my upcoming bonus check to aid with a down payment. She started to say she could try to hold the car, but wasn't sure if they would approve that - which I said was fine because I wasn't there to buy THAT car, I just wanted to compare it to the car I had driven a week before. She then told me to also consider options from Nissan (which I understand that it is a Nissan dealership), but then should me a model that was well above my price range, which she would have known if she had asked me what my budget was. Coming from a sales position myself I was not impressed with their service. I felt bombarded by each person I dealt with and looking around it didn't appear that many of the other employees cared to even be there. It did not feel like a very customer-centric environment. I did not feel like my needs/wants were of any concern to them. I understand it is a business and they are there to sell cars, but I did not feel comfortable discussing very much with the sales representative nor did I feel that they had earned the right to advance in their questioning especially in regards to financing. When the time comes next month that I am ready to purchase a vehicle I will not be going back to this dealership. More
So helpful! While he wasn't in sales anymore, he directed us to another salesperson, Deb Miller! She immediately told us she had a car available, a 2003 Nissan Altima in great shape and with a surprisingly low amount of miles! She was extremely kind and helpful during the process, even with my 18 month old son exploring the lobby (all of the employees were patient and helpful with him!) and hitting a few bumps along the way. This was my first car and I'm very grateful to Nissan of Stage College for helping us! More

We came in looking for Gary Torretti, who we had delt with in the past. We were very pleased with him before and knew we would get the same great level of service. Although he was no longer on the sales floor, he directed us to another sales rep. Within 5 minutes, Debbie Miller found us a car. She was very professional and patient with us through the entire process. While we were doing the final paperwork, we had my 18 month old grandson with us and everyone was very helpful and patient. The entire sales floor were very accommodating. We are very pleased with the deal we received and the shape the car was in. The detailers did an awesome job cleaning the car, making it look almost new. If and when we look for a new car, we will definitely come back here. Thank you so much, we appreciated everyone. More

First of all it took them a week to diagnose my transmission after I made it very clear of what was going on with my car. After they finally told me that I needed a new transmission (which I already knew) I then asked Casey the cashier if she could have the service department look at my passenger side door because it would not open from the outside. I explained to her that even when I would have a passenger ride with me I would have to roll my window down to have the passenger reach in and open the door using the indoor handle. She apologized and said she'd have them check it out. I then get the call three days later that I can come pick up my car but that my door would cost an additional $500.00+ to fix it. I stated I'll look around and get back to them. When I went in to pick my car up today I got half way home and realized there was tape on my window. Like alot of it. There wasn't tape on it before and I found this strange so I pulled over and tried to roll my window down to take the tape off of it. Well my window wouldnt go down.... At this point I was like what the heck and called the garage back. Casey, the women that I thought was helpful at first instantly turned into a snobby, immature, and very unprofessional person and laughed in my face. She said " if you would have read the quote and the paperwork then you would have seen that we quoted you for the window too. When our guy checked your door he said the window was broken too." Well that is a pile of crap. I can't even begin to explain how I feel right now. I am an honest person. I wouldn't have made up a ficticious story from the beginning about how I have to let people into my car if this was the case. On top of that, if this was an issue to start with I would have already had tape on my window to hold the window up from constantly sliding down. I mean that is how they handled the problem after they broke it so I guess that is the only temporary fix. I'm sure after sooner or later of driving it broken I would have noticed that, but you know it wasn't broke originally so I had no reason to have the problem resolved. After being talked down to and called a liar from Casey the casheir I then spoke to some women who said she was the service department manager that had 80's hair and high wasted blue jeans.... not that it matters what she looked like I just found it odd that she was dressed so inappropriately for claiming to be a "manager." Anyways, she didn't care what I had to say she said "well its my technicians word against yours, we aren't planning on going any further with this you need to leave." I am furious at this point. I just had my trasmission replaced there. That isn't cheap. You have got to be kidding me? I demanded to talk to the technician who looked at my door. He lied right to my face about it and clamed it had to have been broken before it was looked at. Obviously after being treated like complete dirt after just spending over 4,000 dollars there I would NEVER in a million years recommend this place to anyone for anything and you can bet your bottem dollar that I will be calling the better buisness burrow and my attorney and making sure that they take care of this issue.
