Started looking to trade DOWN with my Infinti FX50 to save some money on maintenance and gas, but also to raise some cash...not a typical dealership transaction, I'll admit. I knew exactly what I wanted (2012 RAV4), how much it cost, and how I wanted it equipped, and I had a pretty good idea based on my extensive car buying experience (over 40 purchases in the last 35 years) and research what my trade was worth. So, I began contacting Denver metro area dealership "internet sales departments" to see if anyone was interested. Got responses from 4 of the largest local dealers and began the back and forth. While I initially thought I would do the deal with the closest and largest dealer (GO), I ended up driving all the way across town, again, and boy am I glad I did! Will Douglas treated me with honesty and respect, and NO B.S.! I really don't know why I wasted my time with the other dealers, because the last 2 times I bought from Stevinson (a Lexus and a Porsche), I had a similarly painless experience! Besides being a very pleasant and business-like transaction, I saved a few thousand over the mega dealer's "best end of the month deal" to boot! Its not fun to buy cars anymore. You know how much is wasted on union pay. I know what goes on in that world and next you pay for the high overhead of fancy dealers.
