I came across Steve White Chrysler, Dodge Jeep in Hickory through an internet search (initially) for a used vehicle. I contacted them regarding a used Monte Carlo. Between my phone contact with them and the trip from Statesville to Newton to take a look at the vehicle, it was sold via the internet (a testament to how well they move their inventory). Mr Lowman apologized for the problem and indicated that he tried to contact me when he realized the problem, but was unable to reach me (as I had only given him my home phone). Since I was there, we took a look around the lot to see if there was anything else in their inventory at that time of interest to me. He located a PT Cruiser in my price range (admittedly a vehicle I had not looked at, and slightly above my price range) and I took it for a test drive. Absolutely fell in love with the car! We looked at some options, but as I did not have access to the funds for my down payment for a few days, I could not make an offer or attempt to hold the vehicle and it was sold to another buyer before I could do anything (another testament to how good their business sense and ability to turn over inventory is). Several months passed, and when I had the opportunity to look at another used PT Cruiser, I knew not to delay. I gave them as much information as I could to hold the vehicle and begin the processing of paperwork until I could get there to see the actual vehicle (I had already seen multiple photos of the vehicle online). After getting the finance department involved processing the paperwork and beginning the credit check, the finance manager indicated to Mr Lowman that because of the PT Cruiser being a used vehicle, and the differences between financing on used versus new vehicles, etc. He suggested the possibility of a new vehicle for me that would meet the same monthly payment I needed for the vehicle, and also provide me with additional warranty for the vehicle. Mr Lowman contacted me to see if that would be of interest. When I indicated I would be interested in a new vehicle if I could stay in the same payment range, he provided me with a suggested vehicle to look at. After viewing the vehicle (which met all of my needs and then some), it was quite obvious to me that Mr Lowman had listened carefully to everything I said I was looking for in another vehicle and had managed to get me all that and more for a VERY good price with excellent financing. I am ecstatic about my new Dodge Caliber and would, have and will recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle (new or used). More
i bought a new 2011 Jeep Wrangler using the eBay e-price. There were no hidden fees, no haggling, and i got more than I expected for my trade. Horrible experience. They listed the car I bought as meticulously maintained and completely up to date on service. During my first oil change, the mechanic - another Jeep dealership - told me the differ meticulously maintained and completely up to date on service. During my first oil change, the mechanic - another Jeep dealership - told me the differential fluid needed changing and I informed them it should be fine for at least 12k more miles. Jeep recommends 17k between fluid changes so it 'should have already been changed twice' by now. The car had 42K when I bought it and had never had the fluid changed! I called Chris at Steve White and he 'informed' me that was just recommended and not completely necessary... what? In my mind 'meticulously maintained and up to date on service' means serviced according to Jeeps recommendations. This is not the case with Steve White motors. He eventually agreed to pay for the service at great reluctance. I had to take my car back to have service done and sent him the bill. I get a note back from some person named 'Bush' saying they will only cover part of the service as this is a maintenance issue... what? These guys are full of crap and unless you want to waste so much time and energy to get them to follow through on anything they tell you I cannot recommend them - in fact I say stay clear. Get it in writing or they will not follow through. Once they have your money you are done. Don't waste your time or money. Horrible experience and they have wasted so much of my time having to call them over and over again. Other miscues in my dealings with them: 1. my 30 day plate expired and I had to call them no less than 6 times to get my license plate. waste of time! 2. they lost the electronic transfer information so they could get paid! talk about idiots! I worked with Bush over the phone Easter weekend and he did whatever he had to do including settling on a very fair trade in on my car based on pictures, mileage, and carfax so I could drive up Monday and did whatever he had to do including settling on a very fair trade in on my car based on pictures, mileage, and carfax so I could drive up Monday and take care of the deal. He simply presented an out the door price with no surprises upon closing. Prior to meeting Dion, I had visited 3 dealers and was turned off with the required process of meeting a sales person, then meeting a deal guy to had to meet with a decision maker to close the deal. Steve White and Dion led me through a simple process to purchase a vehicle that came with integrity and respect. A great model for all dealers to emulate! We had been looking for Jeep for 3 mos. The ebay inventory for this dealer is diverse and agressively prices. I found the best price for this Wrangler after looking from Florida to Maryland. I traveled 80 miles to look at a used truck. After test driving and inspecting the vehicle I wanted to purchase it. When my vehicle apprasial came back thousands less than trade in value, Mr.Dutton said it driving and inspecting the vehicle I wanted to purchase it. When my vehicle apprasial came back thousands less than trade in value, Mr.Dutton said it was because they were asking wholesale for their truck, so he could allow me anymore and to have a nice day! After checking the trade value for the truck I wanted purchase, it turns out that their asking just what the trade in value is. So my request and his demand was an apple for apple comparison. Where he got his wholesale price for my trade I have no idea! Dean was a great salesman, but Mr.Dutton was rude and used very poor customer relations. More
