Came in for oil change and tire rotation. Not bad, not great. Didn’t top off fluids like they said they would. Can’t be sure if they rotated the tires the way I asked. Average price. I called the Service Department on May 6th to schedule an appointment to have an electrical looked at on our 2011 Ford Explorer. They made an appointment for May 18 at 8AM. A few days before my appointment I received another phone call confirming my appointment and asking if I wanted to speak with a sales rep about trading in the vehicle and getting a new vehicle. The person I spoke to said they would pass along my info to Woody and he would meet us at 8am to look at vehicles. We came to our appointment, service department was nice; however, I was not aware of the 139.99 diagnostic fee as I was told 99.99 on the phone when I made my appointment. I told the service department I had spoken with a woman when I made the appointment and they said it’s always been 139.99. I was reluctant to leave my vehicle but I did anyway considering this issue with the vehicle has been ongoing for awhile and I wanted it fixed. My wife and I go inside and ask for Woody and we’re told that Woody doesn’t come in until 9 AM. I’m not sure why a dealership would mislead a customer looking to purchase a new vehicle, but we were irritated. Mike Skinner was able to help us though, we were able to test drive a new Ford Explorer and it was a good experience and he was knowledgeable. We started negotiations on our trade in and this is where some issues began to arise. In between going back and forth on negotiations, it was brought up that the issue with our vehicle was going to cost over $800 and it hadn’t even gone through service to see what the issue is. This raised a huge red flag with us that the dealership was already telling us the cost of our service was before it was even diagnosed. After some negotiations, we had to leave because of work and the sales manager stopped us on the way out to show why our vehicle was appraising much lower than KBB and other car appraisal websites, and we said we had to go and instead of saying thank you for your time, he said, in a very condescending tone that “We’ll make sure your vehicle in service is going to be taken care of“. The way the sales manager said that raised a red flag with us in combination that they were already saying the issue was going to cost over $800 (from Sales, not Service). At this point we didn’t trust anyone we were talking to there and decided to pull the vehicle from Service. We took the vehicle down the road to Express Auto where they diagnosed, fixed, and replaced the part for $100. We will never be returning to this dealership for any reason since we no longer trust them. We were ready to spend nearly $50K on a new vehicle. More
