I worked with salesman Jeff Gray who had my vehicle appraised while we test drove the 2024 Ford Maverick I was interested in. He was friendly and professional and I completed my purchase in just a few appraised while we test drove the 2024 Ford Maverick I was interested in. He was friendly and professional and I completed my purchase in just a few hours. After the sale, and unlike some dealerships, Stearns Ford quickly paid off the balance of my trade-in (a 2020 Ford Ranger) and Ford Motor Credit confirmed the payoff in less than a week. More
!st mistake was using the internet, I wouldn't have known a used Bronco in my price range, that wasn't one of 19 shades of gray, black or white, existed. Canden Green was my initial contact and was/is a fri a used Bronco in my price range, that wasn't one of 19 shades of gray, black or white, existed. Canden Green was my initial contact and was/is a friendly salesman to work with. It was hard to give up my 2.6% loan for the new almost 9% "great" rate (thanks Joe, you's an awe-sum prez). The finance guy, (Franklin, I think) was friendly, helpful as well, but I didn't go in with my hateful, haggling hat on either. I have no complaints so far... I got what I think I wanted, a little bit harder and expensive to find a front license plate bracket (being from VA) than I think it oughtta be. More
If I could leave a 0 star rating, I would, because the Sales Department at Stearns Ford does NOT deserve even 1 star. The shady, deceitful, and unprincipled way in which the Stearns Ford Sales Department Sales Department at Stearns Ford does NOT deserve even 1 star. The shady, deceitful, and unprincipled way in which the Stearns Ford Sales Department conducts business with potential customers is disgusting. I don't know how they sleep at night after the way they treat people during the day. I honestly thought the old way of Salesmen and their Sales Managers just blatantly lying and trying to manipulate customers had faded away with the rise of massive chain "no haggle" dealerships and social media. But no! The old way of selling cars using deceptive and unethical tactics is still being used today at Stearns Ford. I understand they need to make money, however, it is not necessary to treat customers with such disrespect to make money. There are plenty of dealerships who train their Salesmen and Sales Managers professional and ethical standards, and those dealerships are successful. Over the past 50+ years, I have purchased many cars from dealerships and worked with many different Salesmen. I could have possibly been lied to in the past, but not one Salesman I worked with tried to manipulate me and not one of them acted in an unethical manner like the Salesman and his Sales Manager that I met with at Stearns Ford. Everyone was very friendly. I expected that this would be the case since it was, in fact, a dealership. However, at this particular dealership, I got the feeling that it was gen I expected that this would be the case since it was, in fact, a dealership. However, at this particular dealership, I got the feeling that it was genuine. They all seemed to go above and beyond what I felt was necessary from a professional organization. This included the people that I had no dealings with whatsoever. I felt that I was helped more than was needed by everyone; even those not involved with the sale of the vehicle I purchased. Any frustrations I had were quickly put at ease when I talked to my salesman, Jeff. He used his years of dealership experience to assure me that all was well even though I was coming from out of town to buy a vehicle. Overall, a very good experience. I am glad I bought my vehicle from the folks at Stearns Ford in Burlington, NC. More
Where to start? Well, I'll begin by saying this - I wasn't going to leave any review... but I got 3 spam emails and finally said ok. From start to finish, Stearns Well, I'll begin by saying this - I wasn't going to leave any review... but I got 3 spam emails and finally said ok. From start to finish, Stearns reminded me why I never buy Ford. You ever get that icky, swindled used car dealer feel? Stearns has that in spades. The salesman, John, was kind throughout. But I was told several times they'd deliver for free (already knowing my location), only to be told by the manager Charles, that it would be $500 when we went to close. Not cool. During my test ride I noticed that the drivers mirror was broken. This is the only thing I even attempted to negotiate on price. I wanted him to at a minimum confirm that they'd noticed it on their inspection, which he said he'd look into, but didn't. When I pressed further, he basically said "take it or leave it." Fine. I accepted the broken mirror. Car gets delivered to my house, and immediately I get an oil change light and a fuel filter light. Seriously?? It's common practice to perform routine maintenance before selling (even from just a liability perspective), but they did none. Charles tried to play it off that his service guy just forgot to reset the counter... but I wasn't playing that game anymore. I drove it back, showed them, and demanded they change the oil and fuel filter or I was cancelling the purchase. After 20 minutes of stammering, he eventually agreed that I could take it to the Dodge dealer since I obviously couldn't trust them to be honest. I took it to the dealer and spoke with the tech that did it and he said the oil was fine, but that there was no way it had been changed in the last few hundred miles - which is all they'd had the car for. Overall, John was the only positive experience at this dealer. I left feeling like I'd been pickpocketed and swindled. I was lied to and misled for what I have no doubt was an even more nefarious reason. Stearns sucks. Charles is even worse. And Ford? Ha. NEVER. AGAIN. Worst experience in 30 years. 👎🏼 More
