The salespeople are very unprofessional and don’t take the wellbeing and safety of their customers or the surrounding public seriously. My husband and I went to Stark to test drive a couple of their cars. The first car that we test drove should have been properly repaired first before ever being placed on the lot. To even get the parking brake lowered, my husband had to disassemble the plastic manifold, second the car was lowered to the point where it scraped the road whenever we were turning on an incline, finally there was some mechanical issue with the gear shift where we weren’t able to reverse. When we got back from the test drive the salesperson explained to us that they knew of this issue and that there’s a trick to it. This trick wasn’t mentioned to us at the start of the test drive, nor did the salesperson go with us to explain it to us on the road. This is very dangerous, what if there was an emergency and we needed to reverse. Not knowing this trick not only puts our lives in danger but also all the other drivers in the area. I’m not a car person, but even I know that a car should be able to go forwards and backwards. Another issue was that the salesperson was so enthusiastic about selling that car that he offered to fix those issues that we brought up if we bought the car the same day. To me that sounded like a bait and switch tactic because as soon as we bought the car Stark had no obligation to fix anything. Since they already proved to be untrustworthy by not telling us of the issues in the first place. We politely declined the offer to buy the problematic car and went on to test drive another car that we were interested in. When we returned, the staff demeanor completely changed. As soon as we were pulling in, another salesperson named Gavin was yelling at my husband to get out of the car like an unhinged psychotic. My husband was so shocked that he forgot to put the parking brake on and almost ran over my foot with the car as I was rushing to get out. Gavin and another salesperson were yelling at us at how we were damaging their cars by going 90 mph on the road. That is actually physically impossible as Seybold is a very curvy road and with all the prior turns we would have to make, going 90 mph would be going against the laws of physics. It’s our belief that the salespeople took the fact that we refused to buy the problematic car as a personal affront and chose to intimidate us by other means. That, coupled with their intimidating selling tactics is a horrible way to treat customers. People working at Stark are giving small family-owned car dealers a bad name. Stark exemplifies everything that is wrong with the used car industry. Save yourselves from the stress and hassle of buying anything from these shady dealers and go elsewhere. More
Stark has a vague and dishonest deposit policy. I put a $500 deposit down to hold a car (I made no agreement to purchase the vehicle) with the promise that it would be refunded if a third party mec I put a $500 deposit down to hold a car (I made no agreement to purchase the vehicle) with the promise that it would be refunded if a third party mechanic’s inspection discovered “major issues.” I took it to an uninterested mechanic who discovered evidence of multiple oil leaks in the engine, overdue maintenance to the tune of $1100 with likely additional costs incurred in the diagnosis and repair of the oil leaks and the cause of several warning lights on the dash. I chose not to purchase the vehicle, citing the findings of the pre-purchase mechanics inspection. Stark refused to refund my deposit and tried to bully me into purchasing that or another vehicle despite the third-party mechanic’s advice. tldr 1. Do not give Stark any money before committing to purchase a vehicle. 2. Have all vehicles you consider purchasing inspected by an uninterested, third-party mechanic with a good reputation before purchasing (don’t let Stark make you an appointment with one of “their guys” or a friendly shop). 3. Don’t sign anything before you’ve decided to buy. More
Purchased a vehicle (sedan) here in February 2023, turns out I needed something bigger, so traded it in to a different dealer in June of 2023 for an SUV. My purchase at Stark included a multi year after out I needed something bigger, so traded it in to a different dealer in June of 2023 for an SUV. My purchase at Stark included a multi year after market warranty for a few thousand dollars. Since I traded that vehicle in, I’m contractually to be refunded for the unused portion of the warranty, totaling a little over $4,000. The contract cancellation and refund have to come from the dealership I purchased the warranty contract from (Stark), I’m unable to get this refund from Allstate directly. It’s now been a few weeks of trying to get someone at Stark to handle this, and plenty of phone calls to Allstate Car Care to try to bypass needing Stark to be involved in this refund as it’s obvious they aren’t going to happily part with this money. The last person I spoke to said “I’ll be sure to leave a post it note on their desk” and laughed. That was 6 days ago. Based on the reviews I’m not the only person they’ve pulled this “warranty” xx on. Enjoy the $4,000. More

Worst dealership, Shawn lied and said, nothing wrong with vehicle. Told him I was coming from 1 1/2 hours away. I expected some imperfections being it was used. But not all that. Supposed to have 104k on it vehicle. Told him I was coming from 1 1/2 hours away. I expected some imperfections being it was used. But not all that. Supposed to have 104k on it 😜. Back seat stitching all let go.But they tried to hide that by having back seat down. Middle seats wouldn't move or flip up for access to back seat. Salesman says he has ASE mechanics that check it out thoroughly and that back seat is just for kids, they can just jump over.lol. Take it out and it shudders and rpms keep jumping up and down. And dashboard is not working so you don't know how many miles or anything in middle section. STAY AWAY, STAY FAR AWAY!! More

I helped my son find a used truck and Stark OTB had a nice option for a competitive price. Salesman Jared Orth was great to work with...good communication and we got the deal done.
