They said go to Enterprise to test drive a car and then come back... Unfortunately my car was totaled at no fault of my own and I have NO idea what kind of car I want. I stopped by Star Auto on 191 to walk around and check out their inventory a few days ago. I went back there yesterday to test drive a Honda CRV but it took less than 5 minutes for me to realize I didn't like it. I then tested a Kia Sorento and REALLY liked it a lot. However, as soon as I stepped out of the car I was instantly asked if I was paying cash or financing. I said I'm not ready to buy today because it was only the second car I test drove at all and I didn't want to rush into buying a car without looking more and thinking it over. I probably would have went back and possibly would have bought that Sorento but I will absolutely NOT give them my money! As soon as I said I didn't want to make a decision yet the salesman, Wei Lin gave me his card and told me they don't usually let people just take joy rides in the cars and I should go to Enterprise and pay $30 to test drive different cars until I figure out what I want then come back. Really?! I thought people test drive cars before they buy them! I want to make sure it's a good car that will work for my family and it's exactly what I want to spend several thousands of dollars on. I took both cars for a 5 minute drive up the road to the gas station and back while my husband waited in the car with our crying infant and toddler. How is that a joy ride?? Not only that, but it's not like the guy actually helped me!! He stayed inside while I looked around and while I test drove both cars. He spent a total of maybe 10 minutes on us. I've made sure to spread the word on my experience so no one else wastes their time or money at this dealership. More
Christian was awesome and extremely attentive and friendly to work with. The car buying process was a bit lengthy and took about 4 hours, which seemed to be related to understaffing. The 3-star review has nothing to do with the buying process and everything to do with what happened after we bought the car. We were requested to bring the car back the next day for a complimentary detail. The "detailer" ended up damaging multiple interior components and did some damage to the clear coat on the hood of the car. I then needed to drive back the following day to show the manager and again the following day to drop off the car for repair. The repair job was adequate, but there is now a gouge in our dash and we can still see the clear coat damage. Not fully satisfied, but after driving back and forth 4 days in a row, we decided to cut our losses. The manager, Paulie, who helped us rectify this issue was great and made us feel comfortable, it was just an unfortunate circumstance that I hope no one else has to deal with. I will recommend Star to a friend when buying a car, but I will advise them to skip the complimentary detailing. More
