Our technicians read oil capacity sheets for each vehicle, however the parts department made the accounting error. I have carefully studied your review and spoken with my service department. When filing a warranty claim, there are certain steps that we have to follow to ensure that a warranty claim is accepted by Toyota. One of those is determining if the part failed due to manufacture error or has the vehicle been damaged and repaired. When our technician diagnosed the vehicle he noted that there had been signs of repair. If parts are returned to Toyota on a warranty claim that show sign of damage the customer will become responsible for the bill. We wanted to ensure that we exhausted all opportunities to have this resolved as a warranty claim, which included contacting the dealer from where the vehicle was purchased from to see if they had any records of repaired damage. Mr. Davies: Your vehicle arrived at our dealership with a brake pulsation. Upon inspection it was determined that the pulsation was caused by wear and tear, not a defect in material or workmanship that would be covered under warranty. Your call to the Toyota Brand Experience Center yielded a goodwill concession of a no charge brake rotor turn. To help lessen the burden of being with out a vehicle we arranged for a complimentary loaner vehicle for the entire duration your vehicle was in our service department. Additionally, as part of the regularly scheduled maintenance, your Tundra received a tire rotation. It is important to note that tires occasionally do not perform as well on the front of the vehicle, as the rear of the vehicle. To ensure proper handling and a safe ride we recommend a tire balance to all our customers who drive our heavier Toyota vehicles, such as a Tundra. If they have additional concerns, such as alignment, that would also be an item that is normal maintenance that is not covered by any warranty. You have declined paying for these maintenance items. Vehicles need maintenance to ensure they are safe and are performing at their best. Maintenance needs vary depending on vehicle, where, how and who is driving the vehicle.
