We went in for a specific vehicle from the website. The price was pretty good and the condition of the car was acceptable. There was a repair that needed to be made to the vehicle. They offered to go 50/ price was pretty good and the condition of the car was acceptable. There was a repair that needed to be made to the vehicle. They offered to go 50/50 on the repair (annoying already). However, the worst part of the whole thing was when the bill of sale came out, it was approximately 1500 MORE than it should have been. I questioned this. They told me that the bank "required" GAP coverage (not true. Gap insurance is an OPTION, not required.) There was also a $469 security charge. When I questioned this, the finance manager told me that they had problems with stolen vehicles and so they offer this coverage. I told them I wanted to opt out of it. He said he would talk to his sales manager. They quickly dropped the ridiculous security charge but did not drop the GAP coverage. I will have to do that myself. These guys are really slick. Had I not looked at the bottom line, I would have ended up paying $7000 for a $5000 car. My best advice is secure your own financing before dealing with these scammers. They are friendly, nice respectful...no complaints there. However, they really know how to tack on. BE CAREFUL. If anyone from Masano gets to read this....WHY? Up until the end, you guys would have gotten a 5 star review. Sure, I was ticked that I had to pay half of a repair for a car I didn't even own yet but I wasn't going to fuss too much about that. But to try to tack on almost $1500 in junk?? Completely unacceptable. THAT is the reason why car dealers get a bad name. You blew it with your unscrupulous business practices. You could have had a repeat customer. Not now. *****Update******* After they received this review, they absolutely worked hard to make things right. I was contacted by the dealership, who offered to reimburse me for my half of the repair and assist in canceling the gap insurance. I am impressed with the way they handled this situation and assuming everything works out the way they said it would, they definitely did what needed to be done to make this right. It is unfortunate that they waited to get a lousy review to do the right thing but definitely appreciate them contacting us and ultimately doing what needed to be done. More
I did research on Tom Masano Mitsubishi (Reading, PA) and found out most of their reviews were outstanding and decided to give them a try. I live in Northern Virginia and was able to make a deal over the phone for a new 2012 Lancer Evolution. I was happy with the deal that they gave me. They were also able to give me a better interest rate on financing. On Saturday 1/5/13, I made my way up to the dealership via bus and cab, took almost 5 hours. I arrived at the dealership at approx 9am and my vehicle was parked out front by the entrance, fully detailed, and ready for pick up. I only test drove the vehicle for a couple miles, because the car was new and it only had 35 miles on it. (During the test drive, I never had to put the car into reverse.) The paper work didn’t take long, and because they saved me money on a better interest rate, I decided to buy the extended 10 year 120,000 miles warranty. I worked with Chris and Mitch, everyone at the dealership was extremely professional and the customer service lived up to their reviews. As I left the dealership and made my 3 hour journey back home I was extremely excited and had no issues with the car. When I arrived back home in northern Virginia I was trying to get out of a parking space but couldn’t. I could put the car into reverse (5 speed manual) but when releasing the clutch, I hear a grinding noise and the gear is trying to pop back to neutral. I was devastated and called Chris (My sales Rep) to give him the news. He advised, as far as he knew, there were no issues with the car at the dealership. I find this hard to believe because this issue didn’t happen after the 10th or 20th time, but the very first time I put the car into reverse. I gave him the benefit out doubt… Chris advised not to worry and that the car is under full warranty and that Mitsubishi would take care of all the repairs. He found a dealership near my location and advised to drop off the car for repair. On Sunday 1/6/13, I dropped off the car at a local dealership. It's Tuesday 1/8/13, I’m still waiting for the diagnoses…. The entire point of me buying a new Evo was to avoid these kinds of issues. We all know transmission issues early in a car's life can be a nightmare. This is my 1st Mitsubishi and so far it hasn’t been a pleasant experience. I have owned two Hondas, a Kia, and a Lexus and NEVER had this happen to me. Mitch, sales manager at Tom Masano, advised he would be personally involved until this matter is fully resolved. He advised Mitsubishi will take care of me. … To be continued……. --jimmy-- More

I have purchased 3 cars from Tom Masano dealerships. The first purchase was a positive experience. The second purchase was for our middle son and we had problems with the car not being inspected when we wer first purchase was a positive experience. The second purchase was for our middle son and we had problems with the car not being inspected when we were to pick it up. He was from out of town and was advised that the schedule for the inspection was never made by the salesperson. He waited 4 hours for them to fit his car in. We decided to give this dealership another chance when our third son found the vehicle he wanted. Usually Mitsubishi is a solid car. He has had nothing but problems with the brake system in his Eclipse. The one item for the brakes in under a recall and had been replaced in September before he purchased the car. It has now gone bad again. His profession is a customer service rep and he is extremely upset over not having his calls returned. He called daily for three days and ask for a return phone call. Finally he refused to leave a message and held until someone answered the phone. He is driving 2 hours tonight to meet us and drop the car off to be checked. We will send him home in one of our cars. They think they can fit him in this week. We will never purchase another car from this dealership. They have not been responsive, do not return phone calls and it has been a very unpleasant experience all the way around. More
Chris was fantastic. He answered all of my questions, explained the warranty information, offered to show me the carfax, explained how he was NOT paid commission on price of vehicle but on the number of explained the warranty information, offered to show me the carfax, explained how he was NOT paid commission on price of vehicle but on the number of vehicles sold so I felt very comfortable with the price I was paying. I am 20 years old and have just purchased my 6th car, which is a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution with 6k miles on it. Yes i have owned 6 cars within 4 years of having my license and I have dealt with many dealerships. I was looking for this car for quite a long time but it was nearly impossible to find with this low of mileage and condition let alone the price. I visited this dealership a few times and unfortunately had some issues with and did not purchase a vehicle. About three months later my parents went in and both purchased brand new 2012 vehicles, one being a mitsubishi lancer and the other being a eclipse. My parents worked with Chris Civiello and had told me what an excellent salesman he was. I then decided to stop in the following day. While speaking to Mr. Civiello i noticed that not only did he know what he was talking about, he showed a genuine interest in my wants and needs. In addition Mr. Civiello was very interested in getting to know me in order to get the car that fit me the most. Unlike most sales personnel, i actually felt as if Mr. Civiello was focusing on my satisfaction and not just selling me the most expensive vehicle. While purchasing the vehicle and filling out the paper work, all of the staff was energetic, polite and held a very professional conversation. As stated before i have worked with many dealerships from Massachusetts, to Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania and I have never seen this teamwork and professionalism. I plan on keeping this vehicle for awhile, especially with the warranty that was available. *Not only was this dealership professional and polite, I had a full tank of gas and the entire car was detailed!!* I would highly recommend Chris Civiello from Tom Masano Mitsubishi located at 3814 Pottsville Pike Reading, PA 19605 to any and all individuals looking to purchase a vehicle! George brought out the trucks, gave us plenty of time and space to do our comparisons and decision-making, then welcomed us into the office to talk financing. We had severe credit limitations. George was not swayed by this, and made us feel at ease throughout the whole process. Truthfully, it was a rather embarrassing situation to work with our credit, but George was so "laid back" about the whole thing that it really took the pain out of it for us. THAT takes GREAT professionalism, George had it, and we were ever so grateful. Overall, he was very personable, very knowledgeable, and very helpful, even letting our restless children play games on his iphone! He worked diligently to find financing for us, right up until closing time, when he told us he would continue the search the next morning. This he did, and by noon my husband was able to call me with the good news that we had ourselves the vehicle we wanted! Going out of town, we had limited time to pick up the vehicle, but George and another man in financing actually allowed us to arrive right at closing time. They then spent around an hour closing the deal for us, were cheerful and courteous, never giving any hint of stress or strain, even though staying after-hours on a Friday night isn't something anyone wants to do! HIGHEST RAVING REVIEW FOR GEORGE MARCINCIN AND TOM MASANO--HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. More
