I had a scheduled service appointment at 8:30 AM to have a check engine light diagnosed. What followed was one of the most frustrating and disorganized service experiences I’ve ever had. When I dropped the vehicle off, I was told I would receive a call once the mechanic evaluated it. After hearing nothing all day, I called around 3:00 PM and was told the vehicle hadn’t really been looked at yet, but that the mechanic thought the motor might be bad. I was told I would receive a follow-up call shortly. By 5:00 PM—still no call—I reached out again. At that point, I was told the mechanic now believed the engine was “shot” due to internal oil burning, and that my vehicle was already being towed to another dealership in Cleveland for further inspection. This was done without my knowledge or consent, and I was not even told which dealership it was being sent to. The next day, I received no call. I contacted the original service department multiple times just to find out where my vehicle was, and each time I was told “someone will call you today.” No one ever did. After two days of no communication, I had to personally call around to multiple dealerships until I finally located my vehicle. When I did, the receiving dealership had no information about me, no work order, and no idea why the car had been sent there. My vehicle then sat untouched for nine days with no diagnosis, no updates, and no accountability from anyone involved. In the end, I had to pay out of pocket to have it towed home myself. To summarize: No communication unless I initiated it Major decisions made about my vehicle without my consent No transparency about where my car was being taken Complete breakdown in coordination between dealerships My vehicle effectively abandoned with no action taken I drove the vehicle in under its own power without any major drivability issues, yet within hours I was being told the engine was “shot” with no clear diagnostic explanation provided. This experience showed a serious lack of professionalism, communication, and basic customer care. I would strongly recommend others think carefully before trusting this service department with their vehicle. More
