I purchased a car on 6/22/24. it is currently 9/7/24 and I am now unable to drive my car legally due to delays in getting the title/registration. Do not purchase from this dealership if you are out of state. The dealership is refusing to reissue temporary tags to allow me to drive my car until I get the title/registration despite the delay being due to a software problem they were experiencing at the time of sale, and delays with the finance company not realizing that titles and leinholders are handled differently in Illinois versus Ohio. Don't believe them when they say buying from out of state won't be an issue. Perhaps a bigger issue is that I was lied to about the condition of the car. I was told it had "one or two dings", which i was OK with. I drove 500 miles to get the car but arrived to find it had undisclosed hail damage. As a concession, they discounted the car $500 despite several thousand dollars worth of hail damage. I should have walked away then, but we already had the financing lined up, drove 8 hours to the dealership and needed the car for a new driver. I regret doing business with Spitzer Chevrolet Amherst and definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone else, especially if you are not local. More
I found the car I wanted at a dealership an hour from me. I put a deposit on it and they sold it the next morning to someone else, despite the fact that I had a deposit on it. Promises were made to try to make it right by their general manager, and then I never heard from them again. Fast forward to a few days later, when an online search showed a better deal on the car I was looking for, even the color I preferred…but it was 3 hours away. After discussing it with my husband, I called the dealership to ask about the car and explain my situation. That dealership was Spitzer Chevrolet. I spoke with Dee, a salesperson there. She took the time to look the car over for me, and we set an appointment for later that afternoon for me to see the car. We drove the 3 hours there, looked at the car, filled out paperwork and I drove it home that night. There was a small hiccup in communication after the sale but a call to their General Manager, Jason, set everything right, and Jason took care of a couple small details personally. I am a totally satisfied customer, as a result. It was totally worth the 3 hour trip to Ohio from Michigan to purchase my car from Spitzer Chevrolet in Amherst! More

I was already wary being a female and making this purchase independently. I worked many overtime shifts in order to afford my first truck ever. Amherst advertises with pride how they treat their customers like family and their vehicles go through this thorough inspection. I purchased a 2020 Dodge Ram from Chase. I also purchased a Warranty as an added layer of protection. Week one with my truck and it randomly wouldn't start. Sometimes for five minutes sometimes for thirty. I had documentation of my communication with everyone at this place from Chase to the head mechanic Ed to finally the GM Paul who not only is rude but is also a liar. I absolutely did everything but beg them to please help me out. They kept my truck for three weeks and gave it back stating they replaced the back window which somehow was going to fix the truck randomly not starting. Within 24 hours the SAME problem was happening. I spent a year going back and forth and when it finally STOPPED starting all together I was instructed BY PAUL to take it to the RAM mechanics in Barberton. That was an entire other joke. I know little about auto repair but being an intelligent person suggested maybe they might want to check the STARTER. This is after they charged me over six hundred dollars out of pocket for a new battery and fuse. Well DUH! OF COURSE THE BATTERY IS DEAD AFTER I PUSHED THE REMOTE START OVER AND OVER BECAUSE THE TRUCK WOULD NOT START!! Then I had to pay for a rental because Spitzer had my truck three weeks using up my rental car allowance through my warranty yet fixed NOTHING! As if that wasn't bad enough I was told by the tow truck driver both my front tires were dangersouly dry rotted. I also had two cracked exhaust manifolds. Mind you I drove this truck 4 minutes back and forth to work and no where else because I was TERRIFIED of being stuck!! As it turned out after I had to tell the mechanic how to do his job IT WAS THE STARTER!!! I paid a $100 deductible and it has ran like a champion since. These people treated me like a dumb woman, ignored me, and to add insult to injury refused to make anything right when I reported them to the BBB and the Ohio Attorney General. I will NEVER go back to this place. If you want honesty and not to be treated like royalty until those papers are signed then completely disregarded and ignored DO NOT GO HERE TO PURCHASE A VEHICLE ! If I could rate them ZERO STARS I WOULD!!! More
I have a 2005 Corvette and putting new tail lights with the center reverse light in it. (Aftermarket lights) I had to remove the harness to install the plug-and-play for the new lights. I did not want to b the center reverse light in it. (Aftermarket lights) I had to remove the harness to install the plug-and-play for the new lights. I did not want to break the harness, it was basically like pulling a plug out of the socket with some force. I was afraid to put too much force and break the plug. They called the mechanic, who is an excellent corvette mechanic. (I have lots of respect for this young man, good attitude and personality). The dealership wanted to charge me $200 to do this job. Crazy expensive for what the job requires. The service manager needs additional training in customer management because his attitude was up there. The young mechanic makes me want to have my car service there but the service manager does not. P.S. Treat your customers well and they will come back for more. More
