It is terribly upsetting to receive a review like this. Our thoughts and prayers are with your mother and your family as she battles such an ugly disease. Southtowne Motors has been, and will always be, a community leader in the battle against cancer by supporting the local cancer center as well various other endeavors such as volunteering and financial support. Cancer patients are near and dear to our heart. To imply that we sought to take advantage of your mother's condition is quite disturbing. In hopes of helping you understand, an explanation is warranted and certainly deserved. When a new car dealer sells a vehicle, they are required to pay their bank in full within a four day period for the unit that has been delivered to a customer. As you mentioned in your review, you had the vehicle in your possession for five days. We fulfilled our obligation to our bank by paying off the vehicle and removed it from our floor planned inventory. In addition, the contract between you and Southtowne motors had already been sent to the financial institution and finalized. When both of those transactions occur, as they had in this case, the vehicle no longer belongs to the dealer, but to the customer. The only way to "switch out" vehicles is to trade it in. Tag registration can take up to six weeks and those records are not a viable source to determine the finality of a vehicle transaction. Again, our thoughts and prayers are with your mom and your family and we hope that this information helps you understand that you were not being misled. Thank you for your response! The banks were not open on Sunday because I reached out to Ally which was not available on Sunday so therefore I did return on the 4th day. I really like the vehicle but I dont have the down payment for another vehicle it is very costly to do a trade with no down payment and a higher rate. I liked the dealership other than bring able to switch out the vehicle. I really would like to return to do business with Southtowne but because of this unfortunate incident I'm very reluctant to give you a second chance.
