Everything about the process of buying a new vehicle here was easier than at any other dealership I have ever used. Recently purchased a used 2024 model vehicle from Southpoint Honda. Had a good purchase experience with the salesperson, their manager and the finance manager. BUT, after bringing the vehicle home we Southpoint Honda. Had a good purchase experience with the salesperson, their manager and the finance manager. BUT, after bringing the vehicle home we discovered an issue that the dealership failed to address which led to a violation of our privacy and created a security and safety risk. The dealer did not reset the settings on the vehicle we purchased and still had the previous owners connected to the car and through the app. Within a few hours of bringing the vehicle home and parking it in our garage, the vehicle was started remotely and ran inside our closed garage that also had our dog in it for an unknown amount of time. Luckily we found it running soon enough to open the garage doors and avoid any serious safety issues from carbon monoxide. After deleting the settings and taking control over the app, we found that the previous owners would have also been able to see our address through the app. This was a serious risk that could have been easily avoided with one action by the dealership to delete the vehicle settings. We have tried to communicate this to the dealership multiple times but to date have not received a formal response from their management so it seems they do not want to take responsibility for their mistake. Sadly their actions, or lack thereof, have turned a positive purchasing experience in to a negative response and for this reason we not recommend them. More
