Southland Dodge was opened in July 1968 by Joe Teuton Jr., Jeff Teuton, and Dennis Oncale. Joe and Dennis were experienced auto technicians at Downtown Auto Service on Lafayette St, and Jeff was a college graduate in Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University. They were also avid drag racers, and they were all under 30 years of age. The first location at 505 Sunset Ave featured a one-car showroom and a 10 car parking lot. Their racing background helped them to sell lots of Dodge Superbees, Chargers, and Challengers in the early years.

Worst experience of my life took my truck in to get fixed for wiring problem they charged me $600 in the issue still not fixed plus I get in my truck to take it home get home horrible noise inside the motor More

2nd time you guys messed me over had a ould leak on a dodge truck brought it in y'all charged me over 1000$ and didn't fix the leak I ended up fixing It myself for a100$ it's really unheard of this time you guys went beyond crazy you ruined my truck charged me 560$ for nothing then broke my radiator crazy
