Southland Dodge was opened in July 1968 by Joe Teuton Jr., Jeff Teuton, and Dennis Oncale. Joe and Dennis were experienced auto technicians at Downtown Auto Service on Lafayette St, and Jeff was a college graduate in Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University. They were also avid drag racers, and they were all under 30 years of age. The first location at 505 Sunset Ave featured a one-car showroom and a 10 car parking lot. Their racing background helped them to sell lots of Dodge Superbees, Chargers, and Challengers in the early years.

DEALERSHIP REPLACED 4 TIRES ON 2/15/2023. ON 2/20/2023 ON THE WAY OUT OF TOWN THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR TIRE WENT FLAT. I CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD ROAD SERVICE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. I COULD ON 2/20/2023 ON THE WAY OUT OF TOWN THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR TIRE WENT FLAT. I CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD ROAD SERVICE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. I COULD NOT DROP THE SPARE AND LATER FOUND OUT THE DEALER HAD LEFT AN EXTENSION IN THE SPARE TIME ASSEMBLY. SOUTHERN TIRE SENT SOMEONE OUT AND FOUND A DEFECTIVE TIRE STEM. I CALLED THE DEALER AND REPORTED THAT AND WAS TOLD THAT STEMS WERE NOT REPLACED UNLESS THEY WERE DEFECTIVE. I WENT TO A DIFFERENT TIRE LATER THAT WEEK AND THE OTHER 3 STEMS WERE REPLACED. I HAVE THE STEMS IF YOU CHOOSE TO SEE THEM. TO SAY THE LEAST I AM NOT SATISFIED. I WENT TO THE DEALER BECUASE I WANTED QUAILITY SERVICE AND WAS WILLING TO PAY A LITTLE MORE. TODAY THE DEALER SENT ME AN ADVERTISEMENT ON TIRES, BUY 3 GET 1 ON A DOLLAR. GO FIGURE. More
