I visited the parts shop of your dealership today on Wake Foirest Road and can't express how impressed I was with his customer relations skills. He deserves a raise. If only other people who work with the public had his skills and expertise. In a time when customers are all too often ready to express their disservice with interactions...I want to tell you what an excellent employee you have in Chris. Happy Holidays! Love My New Mazda 3 My wife and I had been thinking about buying a commuter car for some time and had eyed the Mazda 3 before walking into Southern States. We worked with My wife and I had been thinking about buying a commuter car for some time and had eyed the Mazda 3 before walking into Southern States. We worked with Michael Campbell and had a great experience. Michael is engaging, knowledgeable and was not overbearing or pushy during our deliberations and test drive. Ultimately, we decided to purchase the Mazda 3 and, while it was a very busy Labor Day weekend at the dealership, my loan application, detailing, and other paperwork was handled quickly. The first drive home in the new car was wonderful...and doubly so because Michael made the process pleasant and smooth. More

I sent an email to the dealership and received an almost immediate repsonse from one of the sales men, Al Daugherty. He was very accommodating as far as setting up a time for test drive. Al had the car ready for me when I arrived all cleaned up, pulled up front and cooled off on a very hot day. I fell in love with the car and the rest is history. That dealership was very clean, all employees were very nice. Al offered coffe or water and even threw in a bonus. He has since followed up with me to see how I am enjoying my car. An all around excellent experience! More

Two days later, I show up and the person I spoke to on the phone is not there and the person available does not know of any Mazda 6's on the lot with that great price (he said they must have sold all of them), but he has a bunch of great other Mazda 6's that just happen to cost a lot more. Not surprisingly I took my business elsewhere. Sadly, I think this stupid nonsense must work on some people or else they wouldn't keep doing it. More

When taking delivery, I found 3 large dents along with scratches on the roof, I didn't understand how the dealer missed this much damage during the detailing but they did. My wife was planning to leave on a trip the next day, and since another identical model was not available, and upon their promise to fix the car when she returned to town, we took the car. This was our first mistake. Actually our first mistake was coming to Southern States originally, but you get my point. After returning to Raleigh, we took the car to the dealer, with a promise of getting the car back in 2-3 days later. This was the next mistake, believing that we would have our car back in 2-3 days, our car was there for 2 full weeks before getting it back. When I went to pick it up, I found additional damage to a door that was not there when we dropped off the car, along with a run in the paint in an area that was just repaired. Again we had to leave the car, with a promise from the new service manager that he would personally check the repairs before we got it back. I do need to point out that before I left the car the second time, the service manager and I went over the care from end to end, to find any flaws that were missed before, so we could have the car fixed once and for all. After the dealer keeping the car for another week, I got a phone call on Friday afternoon telling me that I could get the car on Saturday morning, with a promise form the service manager that he would personally check over the car before I got there, to be sure that the repairs were truly completed. After getting to the dealership the next day, when I went to look at the car, I should say that I was surprised to find another flaw in the area that was just repainted, but it honestly didn't surprise me. And to add insult to injury, there were new scratches around the front door handle, not to mention scuffs on the inside door panels. And as you know, part of a new car excitement is the new car smell, but after 3 weeks in a body shop, and still not repaired correctly, the car reeks of paint. As you are probably wondering, why I haven't contacted Mazda about this issue.? Well I have, numerous times, and their response is the issue is between me and the dealer. So much for Mazda stepping up. During all of this time, I have only heard form the General Manager of the dealership once, and that was after I called him, never from the sales manager or the salesman. The service manager has contacted me, telling me to bring the car back, so they can try once again, but I have absolutely no faith in their ability to make this car right. My plan now to to trade this car in, and certainly not on another Mazda, take my loss and learn my lesson to never so to this dealer again or buy another Mazda. It's really a shame because the CX5 is a nice car, but because of our experience with this dealer, we both hate this car. If I could have could given zero stars, I would have. Save yourself the headache and deal with a reputable dealership and car manufacturer., you won't find either at this dealership or with Mazda. More

Bad First Experience with Service Department! I just bought a 2012 Mazda6 from an individual who had only 1 key. Concerned about accidentally locking myself out with the key in the car, I went to Southern States Mazda in Raleigh, NC to get a key with which I could open the door. I told the person on duty that I wanted an access only key to get into the car. He told me that I needed to get a programmed key which costs about $250 (ridiculous) to not set off the auto theft alarm. After explaining to him that I did not have the alarm feature set on the key and that I just wanted a "dummy" key to get inside, he sent me back to a secondary service desk. The girl there went through the same procedure and I had to explain to her again that I wanted a basic access only key. She called another rep to the desk and explained my need to him. He seemed to understand my need and returned to tell me that they did not have the basic blank in stock but had a key for about $175 which could be programmed later for about another $75. Thankfully in the meantime, a man who worked in the shop came up and asked me what I needed. After explaining my need to this gentleman, he told be that he did have a non-programmable blank. The rep then told me that this key would be $75 and I responded "ridiculous" and then he punched in a few keys on the computer and told me "I can give you a break and let you have it for about $48". I told him it was a ridiculous price for a "dumb" key, however, I bought it anyway because I was afraid of getting locked out of my car with the key inside. After getting the key in a few minutes, I left there feeling that the people were trying to scam me or take advantage of my situation! I have some more work that I would like to get done; however, I will be damned if I go back to Southern States in Raleigh. Instead, I will drive a few more miles to Medlin Mazda in Wilson, NC and give them a try! More

I took to my local shop, they said that there appears to be a recall that may fix my problem. I brought to Southern States Mazda. They quoted me more than $5000 to repair all the "problems". And there was no active recall. I told them to just get the car running smoothly again. They said they would just have to change a "sensor" and that was going to cost $550 bucks. A week later I picked up the car after they completed the sensor repair, and drove it home. The check engine light came back on since i didnt get all of the suggested repairs done by Southern States Mazda. So, I hooked up a code reader and saw 3 codes. I investigated myself (YOUTUBE ROCKS) and found out that there was just a crack in an air hose, and that i needed my mass airflow sensor cleaned. Apparently none of the mechanics at Southern States Mazda are astute enough to find a crack in an air hose. I spent about $100 bucks on hose and the mass airflow sensor cleaner. It took me about 15 minutes to do the repair MYSELF. And, ding ding ding - All the codes went away and my mazda is running great. More
