After 2 months we cannot drive our car. We purchased a Mazda CX-9 on August 20. First we had to fill out papers 3 times, because the "regular person" was not there, and left with our car at We purchased a Mazda CX-9 on August 20. First we had to fill out papers 3 times, because the "regular person" was not there, and left with our car at approximately 9:00 PM. We called our insurance company the following morning, so they of course provided information for August 21. The date inconsistency was finally figured out the final week in September. The car was registered to the state in early October, but the dealership did not pay the registration fee, even though we paid $680 for doc fees. So now our car is registered, but we cannot get the appropriate documentation for the car until we pay $506 to register it. The office person, Judy, did not do the correct work and is now on an extended absense and no one in the office has information. Our salesman has not returned our call. Germain White, whom we were told was the manager, told us today that he doesn't know what to do and we should call the corporate offices, which we did and have not had our call returned. No one has said "I will fix this"; no one will help. Meanwhile, our car sits in the garage because we cannot drive it. Cannot think of what to do, other than to find legal help. More

Let me begin by saying that I absolutely hate leaving negative reviews, but my experience has gotten out of hand. Long experience short, my vehicle has been in and out of service since February, and all due to one of many things, such as new damages on vehicle, improper installation of equipment, failure to perform requested services, etc. We are 4 days from July and I still do not have my vehicle, nor have I recieved an update in over a month. I've called several times, left voicemails, and struggle to reach anyone. I finally made contact with a gentleman who claimed he was glad that I called because he was just about to call me- at the request of his manager- to ask if I would share with him auto body shop contact information so that they could obtain paint match information. My vehicle did not require any paintwork, nor have I authorized any such repair. When I inquired what his inquiry was in regards to, expressing concerns for the lack of knowledge in the actual status of my vehicle, he responded that he was unsure but assumed that the techs damaged my vehicle and are trying to fix it... No one has said anything to me about any of this... When I inquired further, he informed me that he really didn't know much and that my service advisor would contact me 1st thing the next morning. That was 2 weeks ago. I still have not recieved a call. This truly is absurd. While I cannot speak to the sales department, I can say that if I were making a purchase of a new or used vehicle here at Southern States and knew of the poor quality service it would come with, I would venture elsewhere. There is absolutely no way that I would invest in any sales purchase only to ruin it next door in the service department. Yes, this is the short version of my experience... I am presently seeking out the General Manager, but haven't heard from him yet. More

Southern States internet sales rep called me within 5 minutes of searching their site. With a positive online experience I decided it was time to get my family's second Mazda from Southern States. The sales staff were welcoming, friendly and professional. The manager, Derrick introduced me to my sales associate John. John was knowledgeable and able to demonstrate all the safety features and use of the Infotainment system. Final sale price was lower than I expected and considerably lower than other dealers advertised prices. Since my car was fresh off the truck it had to be inspected before we could test drive it so we waited in the comfortable well designed waiting area. It was a rainy day so I was going to tell John not to bother having the exterior detailed except I noticed there were a few spots where the wax had not been buffed off so I let John have the entire car detailed. I was a little disappointed to see the wax had still not been buffed off. Aside from the wax the car was immaculate. I will be back for my next vehicle. More

Ran by liars. We bought a 2016.5 Mazda CX-5 about 2 years ago. When looking for a vehicle to purchase, one thing that was important to us was the "infotainment" sys We bought a 2016.5 Mazda CX-5 about 2 years ago. When looking for a vehicle to purchase, one thing that was important to us was the "infotainment" system. We really liked the CX-5 for the most part other than the software used to run the vehicles infotainment system. We were promised by the sales associate AND the manager at the time that even though the CX-5 we were looking at did have the option for Android Auto or Carplay that it would be an update that could be applied FREE OF CHARGE when the software was ready. Well 2 years of patient waiting and we finally get notified that our car can be updated to Android Auto and Car play. I make the service appointment to get this done but come to find out they want almost $600 to update the cars software! After making a phone call to confirm and explain that this is something we were promised when we purchased the vehicle we were told to come in for the service appointment anyway and we could get the details hammered out in person. After driving across town to the service center we get there only to be told that there is nothing that the dealer can do, and it is on Mazda Corporate to resolve this because the fact that it was a free upgrade was what the dealer was being told at the time we purchased the vehicle. So all they did was give us a number to call Mazda and open a complaint with them about this and offered us no sort of deal to make up for their mistake even after we spent $30k+ on this new vehicle from them. I call the # provided , politely describe to the individual on the phone what the situation is and the response I received is that all this is again back on the DEALER and nothing can be done about it and it needs to be resolved with the dealer from which we purchased the vehicle. Needless to say we will never be giving any business to this dealer again for any future car purchases and will no longer be a Mazda car driving family. I would get -1 stars if I could. More

My wife and I bought a 2018 CX 5 and were told by Chris (Finance Manager) that all 2018's would be receiving a free Apple Car Play upgrade at the end of the summer or early fall and that's NOT the case they still want almost $500.00 for what we were told was going to be free. I contact Mazda and they spoke with the service manager who said he would reduce the labor rate to $275.00 since in his words it was a 2.5 hour job. Well I decided to have corporate Mazda contact Mazda of Cary and their service manager said they have done 100's of the Apple Car Play upgrades and it takes right at 1.5 hours. Sure enough on Friday I took my CX5 to Mazda of Cary and the upgrade was done in 1.5 hours and only cost me $170.00 in labor not the "DISCOUNTED" rate of $275.00. Of course I have been told Southern States will say anything (even if not true) to close a deal. More
