My 2013 Mazdaspeed 3 has always been very reliable. A month ago, it sputtered and died, so I had it towed to Southern States Mazda. When I had filled it with gas the previous day, the gauge did not m month ago, it sputtered and died, so I had it towed to Southern States Mazda. When I had filled it with gas the previous day, the gauge did not move, leading me to think there was an issue with the sensor. When it stopped running, I assumed a more significant problem with the fuel system. I explained this situation in detail to the service advisor when I dropped off the car. Southern State's diagnosis was to replace the fuel pump, which cost roughly $800. The repair took almost two weeks. When I picked the car up, the gas gauge still read empty. I thought that was odd since I had delivered the vehicle with a nearly full tank. I asked to speak with the technician who had done the work. When he arrived, I asked if he had drained the tank to replace the pump. He replied that the car had an empty tank when he started working on it. Apparently, in a moment of distraction, I had not filled the car as I thought I had. Nonetheless, I had explained the situation carefully to the service advisor. They were fully aware that I thought there was an issue with the fuel system. Yet, I was not informed during diagnosis or repair that the vehicle had arrived with an empty tank. I only learned this by asking the technician directly. Unfortunately, there is more to the story. Upon receipt of the car, I noticed a strong gas odor. I again dropped the car off with Southern States. I was told the technician had damaged the gas tank during the previous unnecessary repair. The tank would have to be replaced, which took another week and a half. After the second repair, I instructed Southern States to deliver it to another mechanic. This mechanic checked their work and found system codes concerning the fuel evaporation canister. The car now stumbles under wide-open throttle and requires further repair, which I do not trust Southern States to perform. It's been over a month since I entrusted Southern States Mazda with my low-mileage, well-maintained, dead-reliable car. Rather than charge me for a simple diagnostic, Southern States took advantage of my confusion to advise an unnecessary repair. Their actions constitute fraud, Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices, and violate Article 15B, § 20-354.8 of the North Carolina Motor Vehicle Repair Act: "It shall be a violation of this Article for any motor vehicle repair shop or employee of a motor vehicle repair shop to do any of the following: (3) Misrepresent that certain parts and repairs are necessary to repair a vehicle." Disingenuous, dishonorable sales practices on staff at Southern States Mazda. Sales manager Patrick had emailed and texted me constantly during February, and finally accepted a number I offered for a n Southern States Mazda. Sales manager Patrick had emailed and texted me constantly during February, and finally accepted a number I offered for a new CX-5 GT AWD. Thought we had a done deal, and told him I'd be in this weekend for it. He waits SEVEN HOURS (10 minutes before they close) to reply back saying it wasn't soon enough and he just sold the car. We had never been talking about a specific vehicle and he was asking what colors I'd accept - so obviously we're not about one car in inventory here. I email him back a few times and finally he says he'll honor our deal for an in-stock vehicle. He knows what colors I'll accept, so the implication is it's in stock. Drive all the way there from Fuquay and surprise, surprise, they only have the car in white and they won't honor the deal to get a matching CX-5 in later. Absolute waste of time, and sales practices you'd expect from a sleazy used car lot and not an actual dealership. Buyer beware, and take your business elsewhere. More

Working with Rodney Williams was great. He did exactly what we asked him for and contacted me always by email instead of calling you several times a day. He answered all questions about the vehicle real q what we asked him for and contacted me always by email instead of calling you several times a day. He answered all questions about the vehicle real quick. The price was fair and the car was ready to go when we arrived. Paperwork was done without issues and everybody was friendly as well. Would work with Rodney again! More
Initial interaction on the phone and email great. Arrived at 2:45 for 3 pm appointment. Was directed to sit in lounge area ( chairs definitely not 6 feet apart) and they would be with us shortly. Left at 4:50 pm not having even started the purchase. Spoke with Patrick Gomes- some kind of manager, at 1 hour and 30 minutes after our appointment time and told him to either get our paperwork signed or return our deposit. He told his sales person " to return their deposit because he did not want to do business with us". This after I sat patiently for 90 minutes past the appointment time. Do not go here. Purchased the same vehicle at a better price the following day from Keffer Mazda in Huntersville. 5 STAR experience there!!!! More
While the salesman for the vehicle was nice and easy to work with for the purchase of our CX-30 on 8/22/2020, the finance manager was excessively pushy towards purchasing add-ons like extended warranties. work with for the purchase of our CX-30 on 8/22/2020, the finance manager was excessively pushy towards purchasing add-ons like extended warranties. His sales strategy was to intimidate a female purchaser playing on her age and her believed lack of understanding of the complexity of new automobiles. The constant high-pressure sales push saying just one repair would pay for the cost of the warranty has tainted any chance of us using Southern States dealerships ever again. More

Nate was amazing to work with when purchasing my new Mazda. Never felt pushy or pressured into buying. I made an appointment with him for a 2017 Mazda 3, then looked at a 2016 elsewhere that was $2000 less and put a deposit on it. Didn't expect much at Southern States but Nate asked what the final price was on the 2016, talked to his manager, and he was back less than a minute later with the same number for a model year newer car with more features. I was stunned. Topped it all off by beating my bank's APR and I was sold. These guys will forever have my business and I've already talked highly to a few coworkers too. More

On 5/22 Pat Gomes said he'd get back with me by 5/27 regarding a feature the dealership never included in my car but should have been per the sticker label. For over a month I called and reached out with I reached out with 4 emails and never heard back. Although I was being directly and repeatedly ignored by Pat, who promised prompt help, I remained hopeful and went on site to speak to Pat Gomes directly. When I did, Pat simply gave me the standard Mazda customer service phone number, stating that I would need to speak with them and they would then speak with him to get this issue resolved. I did question the validity of his statement since that information would have been an easy resolution to provide during the 5/22 on site conversation or in response to any of my emails, but I remained hopeful and trusted Pat. Unfortunately, that trust was misplaced. After 40 minutes on hold with Mazda customer service spoke to Pat Gomes and he told them that, despite seeing the feature listed in my MSRP sticker, that he would only help if I were to provide proof of having reached out about the feature shortly after the purchase date. The Mazda service rep informed me that honoring the goods purchased is entirely up to Pat / the dealership since the warranty would cover malfunction rather than warranty and that Mazda could recommend the Pat how to treat customers but cannot force them to do so. Not only did Pat mislead me by saying Mazda had final say, he also wasted another hour of my time rather than having an honest conversation with me while I was on site. Reaching resolution required a lot of time and effort and could have been avoided with some basic customer service training. I do not consider ignoring communication and misleading customers to be a quality and admirable customer experience. It's certainly one will opt out of in the future and will advise others to do the same. More

Deondra White was absolutely amazing, she wasn't pushy and was very helpful and easy to work with. She got us what we needed and her manager Pat (I dont know his last name) was very helpful as well. He got us the best deal, we had some issues with my credit but he worked with us and went above and beyond to get what we wanted our monthly payments to be. Super happy we stopped there....In comparison to Sport Durst of Mazda, Southern States Mazda team is just amazing to work with. I will definitely recommend Southern States to all my friends. Thank you, Deondra and your wonderful team for helping me get my first deal:) More
