This is my second time purchasing a vehicle in my life and after my first vehicle purchase, I was terrified and stressed out about having to buy another car. My first experience buying a car made me feel cheated and taken advantage of and bullied as a young professional and as a woman. I hadn't intended to buy a car in Raleigh and had been talking to Lee Hyundai in Fayetteville for months about purchasing an elantra from them, even though I live in Raleigh. I was all set to go to Fayetteville after work to buy the car and had agreed on a price in writing (through texts) because after my first experience buying a car, I didn't want to go to any dealer until I knew exactly how much I was going to pay and so I could spend the least amount of time at a dealership. My coworker told me to call Southern States at lunch to see if they could match the Fayetteville price and I wouldn't have to drive the 1.5 hours after work to get the car and could drive down the street to buy the car. I called Southern States and was immediately connected with Kay. From our phone conversation, she put me at ease, was so easy to talk to and very professional. She and I spoke over the course of the afternoon to get the price down and when I called to confirm the price with Fayetteville because she was shocked at the low price they gave me, it came to my attention that the low price they had agreed on was false and was actually going to be 4k more. I thought about not getting a Hyundai at all because of the dishonesty and misinformation from the Fayetteville dealer. After speaking with Kay throughout the afternoon and getting feedback and cost negotiations with her, I decided to come in and test drive with Kay. After meeting with Kay and test driving the car, she was so knowledgeable about the car and what I was looking for in my car driving experience, that I knew I wanted to buy a car from Kay. The whole team in the buying process was so helpful and I am so grateful. She has changed my perspective on my car buying experience and know I will be back in the future to buy cars from Kay at Southern States. More
