My car was leaking oil and I brought to dealership. Dealer fixed oil leak and performed other requested maintenance with multi point inspection. Total bill was $900.00. When picking car up, I noticed a Dealer fixed oil leak and performed other requested maintenance with multi point inspection. Total bill was $900.00. When picking car up, I noticed a slight hesitation in starting. Drove car to wife’s employment to drop off . Parked the car at wife’s work and then it wouldn’t start. Dealer came and jumped me off ( which was nice ) and back to dealership we go. Dealer then presented me a $4,000.00 estimate for new battery and positive cable harness. Part was supposed be $1200.00 , however I showed tech advisor that I could get aftermarket cable harness online for $200.00. Dealer was going to charge 11 hour of labor. I bought the battery for $245.00. I took car to Cecil’s automotive ( my normal mechanic who was too backed up to look at car originally) and told him the dealers diagnosis. He reviewed and said he could just cut off small corroded piece of cable harness and reattach battery connectors for no charge . Mechanic told me that in 20 years he has only had to fully replace battery harness 2 times. Really disappointed in dealer. Felt like I was being taken advantage. More
