They sold us a car that had no working locks on the doors and a busted transmission that needed to be replaced - the states implied warrantly law covers things like this and says they should give us a full refund or at least repair the issues themselves but they wont even return our messages. So now we have to spend over $8000 repairing the car we just bought from them that they claimed had no issues. Beware this place and these scammers. More

Worst experience at any dealership I’ve ever had by far. To make things worse, the shmoozing continues by them calling you after you leave a bad review and wasting even more of your time. I purchased my BMW here and I purchased the extended warranty. At first things seem great, I had a couple of repairs done that went smooth. However I had an oil leak and they supposedly fixed it. I came back for the same issue a few months later and they said that I had metal shavings in my vehicle. They said that my car had almost no oil in it and that was why I had shavings in it. I told them the reason it does not have oil is because it leaked out in my drive way. I did not drive the car that way. I also had it towed to the dealer so I wouldn't have to drive it. They had my car inspected and the said that the inside of my engine had severe damage due to low oil. This ultimately voided my warranty. I paid $800 to have them look at and once they came back and said my warranty would not cover the cost they told me I would need a new engine. I told them to fill it up with oil and that I would come and pick it up. When I picked up my car the mechanic told me good luck getting home; basically insinuated that I wouldn't even make it. I then brought my car to a BMW specialist who found and fixed the oil leak. The specialist told me there were no metal shavings and the engine appeared to be running fine after the repair. This all happened about a year ago, my car continues to run just fine and I have had no oil shavings or problems with the engine. I believe that South Tacoma Auto was trying to cover themselves as they did not fix the oil leak correctly the first time and tried to blame it on me and the result was my warranty being voided. I will NEVER buy another car here or bring another car to their service center and I would recommend everyone to do the same!! More
Reputable Dealer - NOT HERE Staff is super friendly, of course they would be since they're about to con you out of your money. It's all downhill after you sign, so do your homewo Staff is super friendly, of course they would be since they're about to con you out of your money. It's all downhill after you sign, so do your homework and be prepared to walk away. I bought a car from them in September it was super clean, not too many miles, smelled good, the test drive went well (of course I couldn't get on the highway that would have pulled the covers off the problems), well by December I had to put in $4,000 worth of repairs, for a car that was supposed to be in excellent mechanical condition, inspected with a report and everything. Brakes and 3 major oil leaks. At one point the car was smoking so badly I thought it was on fire. One thing the salesperson was very clear about "this is an as is sale" he also said "we don't sell junk". So be it. I won't spend another rolling nickle in that place and will warn everyone I know and meet to stay far away from South Tacoma Auto. More
Worst Dealership Experience I would AVOID this dealership at all costs. My fiancé and I have never dealt with such rude and shady people with any of our previous vehicle purchase I would AVOID this dealership at all costs. My fiancé and I have never dealt with such rude and shady people with any of our previous vehicle purchases. They are extremely unprofessional. They will tell you they are willing to work with you, but once you sign the contract, all of the promises they made go out the window and you're suddenly the "liar" or "not understanding". You will be hopped around from person to person to person, because they don't know how to deal with you. It's a joke. They wasted so much of my time. Give your new salesman proper training! Their lack of training and misinformation, is clearly a reflection on how terribly your business is run. More

We live out of state and were in negotiations for purchasing a van from this company. After one half hour of speaking with this company and having a verbal agreement to put down a deposit for this vehicle, it was sold out from under us. We had kept trying to contact Matt - the individual who had been working with us to sell the van - with no return call. He never made an effort to call us and let us know the van had been sold, no effort to communicate whatsoever. Our multiple calls were ignored. We are now stuck with a 27,000 loan, and no vehicle. If we had been contacted and TOLD that this vehicle had been sold, maybe this would have been a different story. That didn't happen. What a HORRIBLE way to run a business. More
Horrible experience I would never recommend South Tacoma Auto to anybody looking for a car. Based off of my experience and reading other reviews of people who had similar I would never recommend South Tacoma Auto to anybody looking for a car. Based off of my experience and reading other reviews of people who had similar experiences. We bought a jeep in September 2017. We Told them our job was traveling across country and we wanted a fuel effecient safe car. On an 8500 dollar car they said we needed to have a down payment of $3000. We put down 3000 and everything was good. Paperwork was signed. We drove off. They call us in later that week to tell us that we needed to come back in and put another 1500 down and rewrite the contract or they will take the car back. We had no choice and agreed to put the remained 1500 down after our work trip to Nebraska in our jeep. We take off and as soon as we get to Spokane, WA our transmission temperature gauge goes off, so we pull off to the side of the freeway with semis passing us and the car will no longer drive hwy speeds. It went into a limp mode and the max speed in that mode is 40mph. Driving from seattle to nebraska the speed limit on most highways was 70. We followed what it said about pulling over for the transmission to cool down and the Jeeps transmission temp gauge goes off after about an hour, and so we take off on our trip again. We get another 300 miles and it goes off again. We have to pull over for the fluid to cool down again. Well it did not stop, and was happening every 200 miles now, and was going off and telling us to pull over and let it cool down. We kept following the protocol in the owners manual as to avoid any damage to the tranny. The rest of our trip to Nebraska was filled with us pulling over waiitng an hour and driving again for maybe 40 minutes before we had to pull over again and wait. This jeep almost cost us our job. I am glad south tacoma listened to us about needing a reliable safe traveling vehicle. In nebraska the check engine light went off and we had it checked by a reputable dealer and he said it would cost 2500 to fix the tranny and it will take a week to get the parts. We were stuck for a week now in our jeep patriot from south tacoma auto. We called them and they offered to cover part of the cost of the transmission and put the rest of the cost on the loan we had with them. (1250.00 total added to our loan) We were stuck for 7 days while the repairs were done. South tacoma had the audacity to call us asking if we had the remaining 1500 to put down as we were in another state stuck becuase of their xxxxty vehicle. Tom told us if at anytime we get back and want to trade the jeep in we can and it was no problem, but that the transmission had been fixed so the jeep prob will be a good vehicle to stay in. We get back and a month or so passes and we try to sign up with lyft. They tell us we failed the inspection becuase the alignment was off and the front tires were worn bald on the inside of the tire. I had an appointment with south tacoma auto for an oil change that day as well so after lyft i took it to south tacoma auto. After their oil change I asked them to inspect the vehicle. They came back to me and said it was 100% safe and good to go. I said actually lyft just failed us on bald tires and alignment issues and you guys failed to see that in your inspection. So they went back and found out the tires were junk. Tom again offfers us a deal. two tires and an alignment all we have to pay is 275.00. They acknowledged it was their fault for selling us a vehicle with bad tires and alignment issues and a tranny issue so we get it fixed. A month later our jeep keeps smelling like gas and a gas cap light goes off. We have a check engine light on too. We get it checked and the vehicle throws off 13 codes relating to the tranny, exhaust leak and a whole host of other issues when the tranny was just fixed 3months prior and we know for a fact the codes had been cleared. We talk to tom again and he says you know what bring it in, if there is a problem we will fix it. If you want to keep it you can, if you want a vehicle with better gas milage or whatever the reason you can trade it in. We brought it in they replaced the gas cap and said nothing was wrong past that. I said that is fine but we still want to take you up on that offer you made in sepetmeber and also the offer you made the day prior about trading it in and getting into a nissan altima that we are looking at. At this point we no longer felt safe in the vehicle and just wanted a nice reliable nissan or car. The orginal cost of the jeep patriot was 8900 about, at 29% interest for 24 months with 4500 down. The altima was 10,500 and since we had already put down 4500 at this point on the jeep it seemed like Tom should have no problem getting us into the altima. We even offered to put another 1500 or so down. We sit there for 4 hours waiting for them to get the paperwork and waiting to get an answer. At this point it becomes clear to me and my fiance that we are just an issue to them and they are purposely ignoring us hopeing we just leave and change our minds. Tom comes up to us and says You know what, now that I am looking at your payment history looks like we might not be able to get you into a different vehicle. He said that since we delayed paying the 1500 down in september(which they offered us to do in the first place, and only happened because we were stranded in a faulty vehicle) and that since it was paid over the course of 3 months that it did not look good but he needed to talk to finance so there is still a chance. They also said your first payment is due this week so we need that paid first before we can do anything. Finance is the one who told us we can pay it over the course of 3 months and so we did. We left that day hopefull and came back that thursday and paid our first official payment on our jeep. Friday rolls around we call multiple times and we keep getting sent to toms voicemail or he says we need to speak to finance. We call finance and we get their voicemail and leave a message to call us back about the Nissan we test drove and wanted to get into. This goes on for the next week. We called everyday and they just said they will give us a call back. Finally a week later we get ahold of the finance manager who says we need to speak to tom instead. Tom tells us that at this time they cant get us into a different vehicle and that we need better payment history and that he never said he could get us into a different vehicle. Also the nissan had been sold i checked on their website and they never told us this. He lied to our faces twice, raked 5g out of us, endangered our lives, talked down to my fiance whenever i was not there, and we are paying a 29% interest. When all is said and done this 6k dollar jeep patriot will cost us 15,000 dollars. This is what you get when you are in need of a vehicle and are desperate to get into something. You go into a dealership like South Tacoma auto and they rake you over the coals and tell you your not good enough to get into a car you acutally want, and a car that they said they could get you into, make you feel less than, and lie to your face, and send you and your family down the road in a unsafe unreliable vehicle. Personally I will never buy a used or new car from South Tacoma Auto Ever again, neither will any of my friends or family and I will make it my mission to make sure everybody who even thinks of buying a vehicle there knows that they might get screwed like me and my fiance did after being referred to them by a bankruptcy lawyer. If you have good credit, bad credit, or just filed bankruptcy look elsewhere. They don't care about your situation and the poorer you are, the more they will make you put down, ignore you for weeks, make false promises, and chances are they never did the inspections or proper maintenance on the vehicle in the first place. Have a good day and thank you for reading my review. Good Luck and for the love of god go someplace else. p.s. Oh one more thing when our tranny went out the first week of owning the jeep and Tom said he would help us, he had one condition, Make sure to go online and leave us a really good review and we will help you out. You see all he ever cared about was a good review, not actually about helping us out or getting us a good deal. Don't trust his fake attitude or their response to this. They are slime bags. Here is your good review Tom you earned it this time ya liar. Hope it was worth it. More
