Crooks-Don't trust anything they say or sell Purchased a used 2007 Ford Explorer Sportrax pickup on February 20th, 2017. When taking the final test drive, a noise was noticed and pointed out. Purchased a used 2007 Ford Explorer Sportrax pickup on February 20th, 2017. When taking the final test drive, a noise was noticed and pointed out. We were assured that nothing was wrong, the truck had been checked out and if there was something wrong it would be taken care of. We also pointed out some detailing issues that we asked to be taken care of (and weren't). We drove home (1-1/2 Hrs away) and the next say began having problems with the truck. It was over heating and making the noise even louder. We contacted South Point and they told us to take to a local dealership to be checked out. After having the vehicle was inspected by our local dealer, we were informed that the radiator had a hole that someone had attempted to patch but the patch wouldn't hold. The radiator had to be replaced, which cost $1000 and the truck could not be driven until fixed or possible damage would occur and they could not check out the strange noise we had heard until the truck radiator was fixed. The Sales manager at South Point was contacted and we were informed that the truck of that age does not get inspected, that they sold as is and that they would not cover anything. We had the radiator fixed at our expense. The local dealer then checked out the noise we had discussed with the dealer on the test drive and found it was a bad wheel bearing and it would have to be replaced at a cost of $400. We tried to contact South Point to discuss and could not even get a return call. We went with a Dealership assuming that they would check out their vehicles and stand behind them. This was not the case with South Point Chevrolet. Stay away at all cost or at least get anything promised in writing and make sure you have all items corrected before you pay or you'll be out of luck as they do not stand behind what they sell. More

Be wary of service get a second opinion if in doubt First time I took my truck there it went ok. My truck wouldn't start and they found out it was a wire that was chewed on by a rodent. Last time I took my truck there I was having a service brake light come on my truck. They said I needed a new brake booster in a brake master cylinder. I did have a small leak coming from my brake line and they recommended I didn't take the truck with me. When I got a second opinion from an honest mechanic he told me that nothing was wrong with my brake booster or my master cylinder. Course they also said I had some problems with my PS1 and trans cooler and some other things. This is a Chevy dealer I'm talking about they were wanting to charge me over $2,200 for all this stuff that needed fixed. I got the second opinion from the honest mechanic he said that I didn't have any leaks from anything else other than the brake line which was very minor. All he did was fill up my master cylinder up with brake fluid in my truck was ok to drive. I will do whatever I can to never bring my truck back to South Pointe Chevrolet nor would I recommend anybody do so if they didn't have to. More

We signed paperwork with con number price and everything except the finance contract because they said their rating would be hurt if they waited five days until we took possession of the truck on the 20. The day came and never heard from any of the team at south pointe. I called several time and nobody could give me information about our truck. I just received an email that they couldn't get the truck after all! 5 days later. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL!! Buyer beware even their finance guy named Cody and sales manager John flat out lied to us!!! I'm going to let as many people know how south pointe does business. My cousin turned down a great deal at Jim Norton that day because south pointe promised something they could not deliver. Buyer BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!!! More

I waited about ten mins while they had a meeting to come out and tell me they couldn't show me this car. Supposedly on a Saturday afternoon in the 15 mins it took me to get to the dealer after jays call they sent it to service and found a bad transmission......yeah right. They did however have a different car available for 1000.00 more. Bait and Switch, misleading, and downright dishonest. This happened on a 3000.00 car I was buying for my daughter. I feel sorry for anyone purchasing a vehicle here. You can't get the proper deal or feel good about dealing with people like this. More

Took it back to them & they "fixed" it. Started ticking again a few days later so I took it to another dealer & they informed that it had a cracked flywheel, a salvaged transmission & a leak in the rear oil seal. The truck won't even start now & they aren't willing to do anything about it so I've had to get my attorney involved. I will never have any dealings with South Pointe again. Terrible experience & service. They took full advantage. Very hard lesson learned! More

My friend had recently purchased from him so I went straight to him. He made everything quite easy and was a lot of fun. He understood what I wanted and wasn't pushy. Would totally recommend going to him! Finance was a little different. My husband and I know that our credit is not great right now, but they got us a fairly decent rate. Joe, however, was a little misleading about "throwing something in". We thought he was "throwing in" the ResistAll at no charge, but he wasn't. He just figured since they got us a better rate that we should take it. Unfortunately we didn't review what we were signing carefully...so can't totally blame him. I love my car though and would definitely go back again! Just pay more attention to what I'm signing!! More

Bad Car Sold me a lemon, the car didn't even make it a week. I am getting this confirmed from a mechanic, and maybe a cracked head gasket. what makes me mad is i have left several messages and they haven't called me back. I know the car was "as is" but it should at least be checked out before sold. I WILL NEVER MAKE THIS MISTAKE AGAIN !! I will not buy from South Point, or buy a car without taking it to a mechanic first !! A hard lesson learned. More

We were looking to trade in a vehicle and told them what we wanted for the trade in before we would even consider a purchase. We told them we were interested only, and would get back with them. Over the weekend, the listed sale price was reduced. On Monday, we were told that they would give us what we wanted for our trade in but the price of the vehicle was going to be what it was before they reduced it over the weekend. Their reasoning was because it was that price "when we started talking"! SHADY!!! If you're going to lower the sales price then honor it, even if you were just "talking" to a customer before you dropped the price! SMH. More

Nick was also very helpful the one time Matt wasn't at the dealership when we were. Both of them were personable, professional, and made the experience an excellent one. I found the sales manager and finance manager were also great. Overall, this dealership team did a fantastic job for us, and I would highly recommend them to others. I look forward to working with them again soon. More
