I take my Dodge into South Oak for all vehicle maintenance and repairs. I am greeted promptly and everything has been taken care of the on the first visit. When Dave Heard sold us our Patriot in NOV 2011 & then our Compass in June 2011 he told us the CVT & FWD was plenty good enough for winters around Chicago. Well, both Jeeps were put to the test toda then our Compass in June 2011 he told us the CVT & FWD was plenty good enough for winters around Chicago. Well, both Jeeps were put to the test today, 1/20, the big snow storm...we both were over 30 miles from home & both were on 2-lane back roads & both Jeeps made it A-OK...yeah, 4WD would have been nice, I am sure, but these 2 FWD Jeeps performed admirably. So once again, Dave Heard has sold us good products & once again his integrity has been validated. We have never felt he was just there to sell us a car, but that he wanted us as repeat customers & he had already earned that as we've now bought 5 vehicles from Dave since 2000. Dave has further entrenched our trust in him. Thanks again, Dave, for being you. Additionally, the Service Dept at Denny Guest's South Oak Dodge Chrysler Jeep has been nothing but superb to deal with as well. Always courteous & friendly & they do not try to take advantage of us. I recently purchased a car from them. The sales girl did not know anything about the vehicle but I was pressured into purchasing the vehicle the same day that I looked at it. She only showed me one vehicle not know anything about the vehicle but I was pressured into purchasing the vehicle the same day that I looked at it. She only showed me one vehicle. Two days after I purchased the vehicle it malfunctioned and I had to return it for repairs. When I asked if I could return the vehicle for another one she said "no, this is something that our customers always ask but we don't allow that". This is a major problem. Most RELIABLE dealerships let you take the vehicle home for a few days to insure that you really want it. If your customers are always asking to return the a new car for another than perhaps you are selling them cars that they do not want to buy. Since then there have been constant problems with the service, and the sales girl doesn't get back to you in a timely fashion. Maybe if I had a sales person who was educated and qualified for the position the deal would have been completed to my satisfaction. I blame the dealership for hiring someone without sales experience, or customer service experience. This very young adult knows NOTHING about cars or how to treat customers with respect. I am truly upset that I've agreed to a long term relationship with these people as I have a car note and an "extended warranty". Now I have to get prepared for a relationship with the Better Business Bureau. Thanks South Oak Dodge for running my Christmas and New Year. More
