Disappointing customer service Took in for warranty work on an already diagnosed low compression in the cylinder head..This story is a continuation of our vehicle already being in t Took in for warranty work on an already diagnosed low compression in the cylinder head..This story is a continuation of our vehicle already being in the shop for a week...started with "oh yes, we have the parts! Will be done on Saturday, but more then likely Tuesday" called and found out the head had a nic in it, had to send back, no call...they said done tomorrow. Thursday morning rolls around I call and ask to see if still on target for today (now Thursday). Brian the service manager is with a customer he will call me back. Which he doesn't do. So I call back again, At which point they say "the tech who disassembled the engine called off due to something in his eye, it won't be done until tomorrow". At this point I have called them 3 times and not a single call or apology. I call a fourth time Friday morning around 11-11:30, not to early of course an they inform me that the same tech has called of sick and won't be done today (Friday). Did they call me? NOPE! Even after chewing anyone and everyone who answered the phones ear off they still acted dumbfounded as to my intense displeasure. They promised Saturday. Saturday around 11:30-noon the service supervisor Tony Baloney calls with a voicemail to say "we won't have it today, come by or call for a rental if you want". I think it's beyond crazy to even leave a voicemail like this to a customer who had been treated this way so far. I would have asked them to call back on their car status so I could do it in a personal considerate manner. Nope not South County Dodge "Home of the guys in the white hats" and anti-customer service skills. Ok, so now it's Tuesday following the Tuesday they promised at latest and we pick up the car. They woman at the pick up counter hands me the key and says "our Shuttle person just left on a run you can walk out back and get your car". I'm like oh xxxx no! I take the key over to an oil change check in dude and ask him to get down one to get our car. He gives it to another dude who brings the van around. I ask Maria and I myself look over the vehicle for dents, scratched and so forth. Because once you leave the lot it's hard to day your xxxx was effed up there. Well now we have another problem. There are greasy handprints on both fenders near the hood. Grease on the leather steering wheel, greasy boot marks on the kick plate getting in and on the mat as well as on the curved part under the steering wheel where fuse panel in older cars would be And on the carpet around the underside of the emergency brake pedal. I had to get someone to wipe the grease of the good and interior which he didn't even completely do after telling/showing and physically standing there watching him do a horrible incomplete job at. Finally out of sheer exhaustion we just take the van and leave. I'm pretty for sure most all the Employees there share the single brain of an inbred weasel and that's giving them credit for one nice fellow there named Mike who I thought was going to poop his pants at my rage. He was almost shaking and for a nano second I felt bad for him. I've never suffers such agony in dealing with as single moron in one place more or less an entire tribe. I may as well have taken the car to the layaway counter at Kmart for the service provided. If I even hear so much of anyone of you going there for anything I will disown you permanently. More

If the rest of the South County family are the same, I look forward to owning the Avenger a long time. If you have a problem or anything at all, that is when you find out what a company is like. Thank you again Bob for the very good job done. Thank you, Jim Spriggs More
Honest and Transparent I found South County Dodge through an internet search while looking for a new Dodge Grand Caravan. South County and another dealership about 50 miles I found South County Dodge through an internet search while looking for a new Dodge Grand Caravan. South County and another dealership about 50 miles away (Holzhauer Auto) had the lowest prices on the Grand Caravans in a 200 mile radius. The difference between the two dealerships was day and night. South County offered an estimate in my trade-in by filling out their Black Book form. The Black Book estimate had my trade-in between $12,000 - $14,000. This was right in line with other valuation sites I looked at -- Edmunds, KBB, and NADA. South County's internet manager emailed me the next day as follow up. He gathered even more information on my trade-in, and gave me a firm offer of $13,000, with the possibility of $14,000 should my trade-in be a clean trade. On the other hand, Holzhauer would not give even a ballpark estimate over the phone on my trade-in. They promised that if I didn't get a fair trade on my vehicle, they would fill up my gas tank. (I live in Central IL, so the trip was over 2 hours). I visited Holzhauer first, and everything seemed great on the price of the new Grand Caravan. Catch is, they try to severely screw you on your trade. I do all my homework up front, so I know before I go into the dealership what my trade-in is worth. They low-balled me by offering $10,000, and after a few rounds of counter offers, they came up to only $11,000. I told them forget it, I already have another dealership that has a firm offer in at $13,000 on my trade. Holzhauer said there is no way the dealership will offer me that amount, and they are probably just telling me that to get me to their dealership (the stupidity of those people, isn't that their tactic!). Long story short, we left their dealership and headed over to South County. South County had the same model we were looking for at the same price as Holzhauer. When I got there, I was met by Ken Duckworth, and he looked at the conversation I had with their Internet Sales manager. They took my trade-in for an inspection, and after about 20 minutes, they came back and said they would offer me $13,000 due to the struts needing some work. I acknowledged that the struts did sound bad, and countered for $13,300, since everything else on the car was in clean condition. Not even 2 minutes later, they said sure, and the deal was done. Ken gave me a run-down of my out the door price, and it was exactly what I figured it to be given the $13,300 trade-in value. South County was totally transparent with everything. It is a breath of fresh air to deal with honest and transparent people; I will definitely make the 2 hour drive to South County for my next car purchase. More
These Folks are FIRST CLASS I started a search for a new car almost one year ago. I wanted to make sure I knew everything I could about the car I would eventually buy. I starte I started a search for a new car almost one year ago. I wanted to make sure I knew everything I could about the car I would eventually buy. I started out with Mike Mattingly, who was a salesman at the time. Over the course of the next few months I called or emailed Mike MANY times from our winter home in Florida asking questions and opinions on a multitude of topics, e.g., wheels, engine size, interior options, prices, and many more. Mike always had time to get me the answers I wanted. More importantly, he always gave me accurate answers that he had researched to be sure they were correct. As spring came and we were ready to come back north and finalize our purchase, Mike was promoted to New Car Sales Manager. Even though direct customer sales contacts were now not a routine part of his new responsibilities, he still was always there when we needed him. At the time that we finalized the purchase Mike turned us over to Randy Brinckman who led us through the owner's manual and the introduction to the equipment on our new car. During that process we also dealt with Joe Julian who explained all the paperwork involved and also introduced us to the extended warranty, which we purchased. Everyone that we dealt with at South County Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram was very professional. We were treated like valued customers. Our total experience has been beyond our expectations and we would give them an A+ for customer service, pricing and professionalism. Don and Linda Buck More

Jose spent plenty of time with me to make sure I chose the correct vehicle for me. I love technology and toys, if I'm buying a new vehicle I want it exactly the way I want it. They ended up having it in stock with all toys I wanted so I could drive it home that night. I wanted to put the financing & the Jeep in my company's name which makes everything complicated, this was not a big deal for the finance department at all. They ended up getting me a fair rate that I was happy with. They gave me a fair price for my trade & the new Jeep I bought. I may have been able to squeeze another hundred or two out of them, but I don't mind paying for great service. I will be back More

I said that I I started communicating via e-mail to Bruce starting in late-March. I was just trying to get some additional information at that point. I said that I wasn't ready to make any sort of decision until May. He was totally cool with this, as the next communication I received was in early-May. I was a little worried I would be getting weekly (or, daily) phone calls from him. I did not, that's pretty rad. When I was ready to start test driving, I was handed off to Jose. At first, I wasn't sure what to make of this. Turns out nothing to worry about, Jose was great. I never felt any pressure in the situation. My only big concern at that point was making the payments work for my budget. They worked with me to make it possible. I was never made to feel like a burden and felt welcomed into their dealership. Point is, if you want a new Dodge in the St. Louis area, go here. When reviewing other dealers their prices were lower and I was treated like a human not a walking dollar sign (or, worse). More

Working with Ken Duckworth was a pleasure, his laid back low pressure approach was refreshing.
