Took my Mini Convertible in for regular service on 2/2/23. Called the earlier the same week to schedule and specifically requested a loaner car, and asked when the first available apt was. When I showed up for my 7:30am apt there were no loaners available, even though one was being dropped off in front of me (so they exist). Unexpected +90 min delay while I waited for an uber, had to be shuttled to Enterprise for a rental (which South Bay Mini only partially covered since the car offered was more basic than a Mini or BMW). Enterprise was fine btw. Also +30 mins on the return to drop off the rental and take the shuttle back to South Bay Mini. I dgaf about the cost but I can't get more time back. Super pissed there. And being misled by the person scheduling the apt on the phone left a really bad taste in my mouth. I would not come back to South Bay Mini in the future, and would not recommend going here. There are other Mini dealership around LA, I will try them next time. FWIW it was a leased car w/ service included, so this post really demonstrates the poor service and aloof disinterest in putting their customers first or even being straightforward and honest with them, I wasn't overcharged b/c there was no charge, besides the upgrade I paid at the rental which ended up being $12 (so minor). I wish I could give zero stars to this car dealership. I bought my 2016 mini clubman a few months ago at 22K miles. I was assured by the sales rep, Harlen, that the car was fully inspected and had undergon bought my 2016 mini clubman a few months ago at 22K miles. I was assured by the sales rep, Harlen, that the car was fully inspected and had undergone the strictest of inspection to be deemed " certified preowned w warranty" along with a check list stating everything including brakes were in good condition, within 3 months at 27K the car made horrible sounds and it was discovered that the brake pads needed to be changed and the timing belt had a leak! I emailed Harlen to inquire and receive at least a refund for the work needed; but absolutely no reply. What's worse within another 1.5month at 28K the car made another horrible noise and had to REMOVE AND REPLACE LOWER CONTROL ARMS ALONG WITH NEW BUSHINGS. I emailed Harlen again, and this time a Mohammed Ali called and left a cryptic message, I called back but no one answered, left a message and yet no call back or email reply. Besides horrible customer service this place sells lemons so be warned before you go; be sure to have your own mechanic check the car before purchasing a any car here! More
I have tried to call and have the service manger call me and never got a return call. So I made an appointment to have car service today. The service has always been great and the staff very friendly. Vee was very helpful and very nice.
