I took my 2004 Honda Civic to Sons Honda on Monday, May 6, for diagnosis of "Check Engine Light". I had purchased a new OEM fuel cap from Sons Honda in March, 2018 for $49, hoping a new cap would resolve t 6, for diagnosis of "Check Engine Light". I had purchased a new OEM fuel cap from Sons Honda in March, 2018 for $49, hoping a new cap would resolve the check engine light coming on back then. I have always clicked it 3 times upon closing it, as the directions on the cap state. The new cap did not resolve the problem so I took my car to a local respected (JR's in Jenkinsburg, GA) shop in July, 2020, where it was diagnosed and a "CAM SHAFT xxx SENSOR" and valve cover gasket were replaced. The check engine light came on again in March of this year so I went to Sons Honda again and bought another new fuel cap thinking the one purchased in 2018 may have been defective or was damaged. I was surprised to learn the price had increased from $49 to $70. After driving my Civic for a couple of weeks, the light came on again. I finally decided it was time to take my car in to Sons Honda Service Shop. When I dropped it off with the service rep., Mike (on Monday, June 6, at 9:15 AM), to have this problem diagnosed and finally resolved I told him how gas vapors escaped after removing the cap and how I could hear fuel "gurgling" back down into the tank. I asked Mike to make sure, as all Honda Service Shops do, to have the mechanic also perform a free MMPI (Multi Point Inspection) along with the repairs. Mike called me around 3 PM that day and told me the engine wiring harness had been taken apart and "scrambled up by whatever mechanic I'd taken it to before bringing it here." He said it would take 3 or 4 hours to "trace and rewire" so diagnostics could be run. I asked if he told the mechanic about pressure buildup in the tank and he said the wiring was the main problem. NOTE: I was able to drive the car with no problems for about a year after JR's repairs even with this wiring issue - I just needed the cause of the light coming on to be resolved. Mike called late Tuesday, June 7, and told me the car was ready. I could not go then so I asked if Wed. morning would be OK and he said fine. I picked my car up on Wed, May 8, and was told I owed $489 to repair the wiring. NO NUMBER OF HOURS OF LABOR WAS PRINTED ON THE INVOICE. Why??? No MMPI was done. Why??? I wrote Mike an email but he never replied. Here is the worst part: The check engine light came on the very next day!!! I am disgusted that I had to pay almost $500 and I still have the same problem as I did when I took the car in to be repaired. More

Sons Honda service is back to excellent again. Until Sons I never had a dealer do routine maintenance, like oil changes, because they were too expensive with limited hours.
