I had several questions about the Volvo XC60-T8. They could not or would not answer them. For example - why did a car with less than 6K miles need one new tire? This all was on-line. We just bought a CPO XC40 from Smothers European Volvo, and the experience was very pleasant. Brandon was really responsive with all my questions, and Mauricio was trying to make our visit as comfortable a and the experience was very pleasant. Just like others have mentioned, we didn't feel any pressure to make a purchase. We saw some additions items that needs to be addressed before delivery, and Pedro didn't push back on any of them. The Finance person also didn't try to push us in buying any of the extended warranty/ package either. We probably went thru 4 car purchases in the last 8 years, and this experience was the best. Even after the purchase, they are still very eager to help when I have some small issue we want to address, and reached out to make sure we are 100% happy with the purchase. More

I live about 3.5 hours away from Santa Rosa so everything we did was over the phone and via text. Honestly I was a little nervous about buying a car in the middle of a pandemic, and also since we don't live nearby; that we might get taken advantage of. That was not the case! I told John exactly what I wanted and he got it for me, in under our budget! I couldn't be happier with every aspect of our purchase. They took care of everything, and all I had to do was show up and get the keys! They even offered to deliver the car to my driveway, but I really wanted to drive it home myself! If you are in the market for a new or used Volvo, Smothers is the place to go!!! Thanks again John!!! Oh and btw I friggin love this car!! (2020 XC 60) More

Very happy with my hi quality preowned vehicle from Smothers From the moment I walked into this dealership looking at their pre-owned cars I was impressed by their laid back attitude. Ron Cope their salesman was attentive but he was not all over me like in other dealerships. Ron was available anytime I had questions and he gave me answers to all of my queries. The reason I stopped by Smother’s European was that I was up north and stopped by this dealership on my way back to the SF Peninsula because of seeing an add for a car I wanted. (On Car Gurus) It turns out it was a great car. Being a pre-owned vehicle, I wanted to take it to a trusted mechanic to check it out before buying the vehicle. I didn’t know any in Santa Rosa and John White the sales manager was very understanding and accommodated me by letting me take it back to the SF Peninsula Sunday evening to have my mechanic check it out Monday morning. Ron, Mark Smith and I worked out a price that I thought was very fair before I took it to my mechanic. The car checked out perfectly with my mechanic. I came back Monday afternoon to the dealership and we signed the papers on the deal we had agreed to. I had a pre-approved loan from my local credit union and they were able to honor that loan even though my credit union was more than 70 miles away. I was very impressed and happy as I rode my new high quality pre-owned car out of the Smothers European Dealership. I was even more impressed 2 weeks later. I had a small problem with the Sunroof, so I called John White the Sales Manager. Even though the sunroof wasn’t a part of the 30 day limited warranty, he totally took care of the issue after I brought it in and got it taken care of locally. I received a check in the mail covering the entire cost 2 days after getting it fixed. After Smothers European took care of my small sunroof issue I was even more impressed with their integrity. If I lived closer, I would definitely get my vehicle serviced there. If you are looking for a vehicle new or used, I highly recommend Smothers European. FYI, they do have high quality pre-owned cars other than Volvos and Mercedes. Smothers European cares about the customer. They are honest, and have integrity. They are the opposite of what many have in mind when it comes to buying pre-owned vehicles which is why you should check them out! I know I will next time I am in the market for a new or high quality pre-owned car! mahalo, JC More
I called on Friday 1/27/2017 my low beam light was out, I spoke with a very nice young women, who said After speaking to the service department that I would need to make an appointment to replace my low bea I spoke with a very nice young women, who said After speaking to the service department that I would need to make an appointment to replace my low beam bulb, I agreed and scheduled an appointment on Wednesday 2/1/2017 @ 0730. I asked how long it would take and she said she would ask, put me on hold. When she returned to the phone she to,d me the technitians would not be in until 0800 and it would take 1.5 to 2 hours to replace a low beam bulb! Really 2 hours to sit in a waiting room to replace a bulb, it took less time to service my car! So, disappointed! I am a single working women and do not have 2 hours to sit with an appointment to have a bulb changed, shame on you! More
I normally don't write reviews, but I had such a great experience with Smothers that I felt compelled to do so. My wife and I purchased a 2012 S60 last Saturday and could not be more pleased! Everything began about a week prior to the purchase as I was doing research online (I don't enjoy the typical pressure associated with purchasing a vehicle, so I'd been shopping all across the country online for a number of months rather than going into dealerships. I knew the market well and I was solid on what I was willing to pay). I saw a few vehicles that interested me and opted to use the online chat function on Smothers' website to request more information. John White was on the other end of the chat and he provided all the information I needed. The vehicle he initially suggested was a little above my price range, and he was completely respectful of that. He gave me an honest assessment of what I could expect in my price range (which aligned with my own research) and I provided my email address so he could contact me if he came across anything. A few days later, I inquired via email about a different vehicle on Smothers site that had previously escaped my notice. It was well priced online, but I wanted to see if there was any additional room for negotiation. John responded quickly with his best offer and I told him I’d get back to him. I took the offer to a number of other dealers in the area, and none of them could come within $3000 of his price for vehicles with the same options and mileage. After discussing everything we my wife, we both agreed this was a great deal and decided to move forward. Again, John was very responsive via email and did all the legwork to give me the exact out-the-door price prior to coming in to the dealership. Smothers was the only dealership (out of roughly 20 that I contacted) willing to discuss specifics regarding price online. I greatly appreciated this aspect of their service because it assured me there would not be any bait-and-switch or pressure when I actually went to the dealership. My wife and I traveled to Santa Rosa as soon as our work schedules would permit in order to test drive and take possession of the vehicle. John was off that day, but we had the pleasure of working with Jeff and Mark. Jeff immediately greeted us and took us out to see the car and get behind the wheel. He was extremely knowledgeable about the vehicle and provided great explanations and demonstrations of many of the features (including the City Safe auto stop). My wife and I both felt completely comfortable in the vehicle by the conclusion of the test drive. Upon return to the dealership, Mark took over and walked us through the payment process. My wife and I paid cash, so we figured the process would be fairly simply. However, there are still quite a few forms that need to be filled out. Mark patiently explained each form and ensured we were comfortable prior to signing anything. Needless to say, my wife and I are now the proud owners of a 2012 S60! Our experience with Smothers was outstanding from beginning to end. It was such a relief to interact with people who were upfront and honest about what they could offer. We got a great deal, and were always treated with respect. I highly recommend this dealership and will gladly do business with them again. More
