I took my Highlander in for its first service and everything was great. The weight was minimal. I called ahead and got a schedule and got in and out on time. 1. I had asked that the backseat be repaired. I wasn’t told that it couldn’t be repaired in this visit and another technician would have to look at it but I didn’t learn this until I was at the counter to told that it couldn’t be repaired in this visit and another technician would have to look at it but I didn’t learn this until I was at the counter to pay the bill and had no other way to get home. I said, “If you had told me, I would have let you keep the car until it could be fixed because we have three cars and two drivers and the time to make another appointment is a major hassle.” 2. I had been called about what to do about a tire that couldn’t be repaired. The option I selected was to put on the spare bc the bad tire was under warranty with Discount Tire. AFTER I got down there to pick up the car, I was told, “We couldn’t get the spare tire out bc you didn’t have the right equipment but we pumped it up so you can drive down to Discount Tire right now.” To which I responded, “I DON’T HAVE TIME TO GO TO DISCOUNT TIRE ‘RIGHT NOW’ AND IF YOU HAD TOLD ME THAT, I WOULDN’T BE HERE PICKING UP THE CAR.” 3. The possibility of a free rental was offered and that person slipped away and I didn’t see them again. 4. When I got home and looked at your report, I saw that the cabin air filter was marked red and needed replacing but it wasn’t done and no one told me about it. 5. Nothing in the report I was given mentioned the bad tire and nothing identified which one needs to be replaced. 6. When I took the car to Discount Tire on Saturday, none of the tires were low on pressure so I called you to ask if you knows with tire was bad. The person on the phone asked, “how are you today?” I said, “I’m still unhappy about my service experience with you on Wednesday.” She said, “I understand that.” And went in like I had said nothing 7. When I told Discount which tire the problem was with, they came back to say, “We were able to repair the tire and I don’t know why Toyota said it wasn’t fixable bc the problem was right in the middle of the tread.” 8. A friend reinstalled the seat for me that your technician couldn’t. 9. Discount Tire showed me the tool needed to access my spare and told me I could buy one on Amazon. How could a Toyota garage not have a tool to access the spare tire on a Toyota vehicle? In over 25 years as a Sierra Toyota customer under three different owners, we have never experienced anything close to this. More
