Took my 21 Sonata in for its 30,000 mile service on the 14th of March. I had noted in the previous week or so the battery was getting weak.(I did not mention this to them until I was checking out) After tw 14th of March. I had noted in the previous week or so the battery was getting weak.(I did not mention this to them until I was checking out) After two hours at the service center they said it was ready. The issue for the extended time was the battery was dead and they had to jump the vehicle off. They had good news and bad news!! The good news was the battery was still under warranty!! The bad news, the battery TESTED in the 60% range so they could not replace it under warranty?? (Keep in mind this battery will not start the car). So I have filed a complaint with Hyundai Motor Company about the issue while in the mean time I carry a jump box with me to start my car the majority of the time now, even though I have a battery that tested it was good enough for me to leave the service center and that the vehicle was outside running and not to shut it off until I got home. (Note: I drove it 40 miles home and when I arrived I shut it off and it would not restart). Epic fail Hyundai!! I bet if it was NOT under warranty they would have wanted me to purchase a battery from them!! I gave three stars only because everything upon until now for both vehicles we have purchased there had been wonderful. More
Tech not able to find issue but still having major engine problems. Had to make another appt and wait to drop off. Now they are saying it's 2-3 weeks before they can even look at engine (which I was not told problems. Had to make another appt and wait to drop off. Now they are saying it's 2-3 weeks before they can even look at engine (which I was not told). Why did I have to make appt just for it to sit there for weeks? Plus I was told $180 diagnostic fee when I dropped off but now they are saying that is only for the first hour and it could be more. I received no paperwork at dropoff so I don't even have anything to verify against. More
