I was in a difficult situation to quickly replace a work vehicle. I needed to replace it with the same year, make, model, and color it possible. I got lucky and found a 2020 Ram Big Horn 1500, silver in col vehicle. I needed to replace it with the same year, make, model, and color it possible. I bought my HYUNDAI PALISADE Calligraphy at the end of May 2023. Overall, I like the car. But, I am disappointed in the ability for Shottenkirk's service center to resolves some issues with the vehicle. May 2023. Overall, I like the car. But, I am disappointed in the ability for Shottenkirk's service center to resolves some issues with the vehicle. Worse yet, I question their ability to troubleshoot issues with the car in a competent manner. Right out of the gate, we had video documented an issue with the blind spot sensing system. I literally recorded cars in the adjacent lane on the highway passing us by without the blind spot sensor on the passenger side of the car ever indicating their presence. To be fair, while it was an intermittent hit or miss problem, the issues occurred every time I drove the car, especially on interstate level traffic and speed. Yet every time their techs would take the car on the road, they could not repeat the issue so they would not even attempt to try to troubleshoot the situation further, even though I showed them video after video of proof that the sensor were not always working properly. I brought the car to their shop multiple times over this issue alone and mostly they just dismissed my concerns. So, just a few days ago, I had my first maintenance appointment. I told Hyundai that one of the features that was not working was the lowering of the seat as part of the easy exit function. Again, they said there was nothing wrong so they did nothing. So, yesterday, I stopped by a different dealership and talked with a sales person. I showed him what my car was doing, or not doing in this case, and asked him if we could test this feature on a new 2024 model on the lot. The salesperson at this other dealership was very helpful and he proceeded to get a set of keys to a similar Palisade on the lot and test the up/down functionality of the easy exit feature. And, wouldn't you know it, the seat worked as I thought it was suppose to. When you turned off the car, the seat both moved back and lowered down all in one smooth motion. So, we went back to my car and double-tested the seat again but it would only move back but never down like it is suppose to. I have decided to no longer have my car serviced at Shottenkirk Hyundai and I suggest anyone else reading this to definitely go somewhere else. Not only are the service tech poorly trained and lacking in competency but they just don't really seem to care. Honestly, the experience with the service department has been so bad that I not only wish I had never purchased the car from Shottenkirk but, as much as I do like the car overall, I am not quite sure I am ever going to buy another Hyundai. I am certainly NEVER going back to Shottenkirk for service. More
