Tried to buy a used car from them and couldn't get a price over text. The sales manager kept telling me I needed to come in a see the car. When I spoke to him on the phone, the out the door number wa price over text. The sales manager kept telling me I needed to come in a see the car. When I spoke to him on the phone, the out the door number was almost 6k more than the list price of the vehicle. This place has TRUE USED CAR SALESMAN tactics.. More

Do not think that the advertised price is what they are selling you the car for. We found a car that we really liked.... excellent condition, low miles, great price. We drove over an hour to get to the dealership. After test driving the car, we started to talk numbers..... that's where it went sideways.....the price advertised was listed.... however the dealership started throwing fees on top.... let's talk about the fees..... first is their warranty.... they allege that they do them on all the cars. Welp.... this car still had a power train warranty. And frankly.... if I wanted an extended warranty.... I'ld buy one. Then there is the "reconditioning fee".... as explained to us.... it is an 'average' of shop bills to get a car ready. Averaged. This car did not have new tires and only needed an oil change. I would have gladly paid for the oil change but should not have to bear the 'average' cost for a car that's not average. Not to mention it was missing the xxxx floor mats. Then they charge an additional dealer docs fees which was taxed as well. The advertised price of 28,499 now was 34,000. Plus tax title etc.... Their website claims to have transparent upfront pricing. This is false advertising because apparently the upfront pricing does not include the additional fees. More

I walked in with an expected price (the one on the car as well as their own website. I don't appreciate a $6000+ "market adjustment"....which I believe is crossing the legal lines since loan to value can't b well as their own website. I don't appreciate a $6000+ "market adjustment"....which I believe is crossing the legal lines since loan to value can't be higher for a bank to approve of it but they try to get you to make a large down payment to make it legal... this was shown on the paperwork and not disclosed prior to 2 hours of giving info, listening to the salesman poorly joke around and tell us how great Hyundai was even though we were trading in a Hyundai, taking a test drive... going to the gas station with the salesman and waiting for him at the gas station to do whatever he was doing inside there....and I do not appreciate the lowball offer on my trade ($3k less than their own website stated as well as what I was offered elsewhere) . I also dont appreciate being told what my payments would be ($700+ with a $9k value after payoff trade on a Kona is absolutely absurd) without even looking at my credit. I had to ask several times to get my key back for my car so I could leave. He just didn't seem to want to give it back and wanted to keep talking about making a deal after I told them flat out no. Then they called me after I left still trying to make a deal and extend payments to 8 years which is completely absurd. I went to Carl Black and not only paid what I actually expected (price advertised with no markup... actually slightly less), but received excellent customer service, a higher price car for hundreds less per month at a term less than what was offered by these guys. I scheduled an appointment with a salesman to drive in and look car for my son. I had a particular car in mind that was listed as avail on their site.... I called, emailed and texted to confirm the car w and look car for my son. I had a particular car in mind that was listed as avail on their site.... I called, emailed and texted to confirm the car was avail. I was advised by the salesman the car was there. When in route to meet the salesman, I let him know I was bringing my son in to test drive the car and I let him know we were 15 minutes away. His response, "Awesome, see you when you arrive". Once I arrived we went in to the dealership, they received our information, about 5 minutes later his 'supervisor' comes out and gives us the line of "oh, we are sorry the car sold 30 prior to you arriving, but we have other cars for you to see"....... The car didn't sell 30 minutes prior to us arriving, the car had sold 2-3 days PRIOR to us arriving if not more..... they didn't realize I had sent an email from another email account asking about the same car. Figures.... they 'lure' you in thinking the car is avail for you to still see and when it's not, they want to show you something different. Which of course the salesman did. We went looking at the cars on the lot..... that's when I was really surprised. Now, I know there is currently a mark up on the cars due to the chip shortage, etc (cheaper to buy a new car for 3K more when used cars are just as high priced) .... but this was absolutely outrageous..... 15% mark up. When he showed me another car with the markup, I left. The salesman stated to let him know if I find something somewhere else... . That is when Hyundai of Kennesaw immediately received my business. I called Hyundai of Kennesaw and they advised they didn't have the car I was looking for but with their honesty, I decided to drive in, talk with them and I ended up putting a deposit down (car is in transit) on a new car for my son with less than a 12% markup. Ultimately, the car was cheaper at the Kennesaw location.... AND they were honest! Hyundai of Kennesaw received my business. Honesty pays off. On my way of leaving Hyundai of Kennesaw, I texted the salesman (per his request) letting him know that I found a car at Hyundai of Kennesaw (it was a model up from what I was going to purchase at Schottenkirk) and stated that I was a "disappointed" that he knew I was driving in to test drive a particular car and that they didn't advise me that the car had been sold and that I found and purchased a car from Hyundai of Kennesaw.... his response, "Awesome, thank you!"...... We recently purchased a 2022 Hyundai Elantra from Michael Gregg and he was great to work with. We drove over 2 hours to get there since they are the only dealership to have inventory. The car was a Beware of Shottenkirk Hyundai used cars...... My wife and daughter went to Shottenkirk to look at, and hopefully buy, a used Hyundai. The car was a fair price, and we were willing to pay the asking price. What we were not willing to pay for was the un-advertised, and non-negotiable, $2,000 in 'extras': $1395 for their 'care package', $399 for window tinting, and $179 for nitrogen and a road hazard warranty. This is in addition to $699 doc fee. Do they only treat their woman customers like this? Or everyone? We'll never know. My wife walked away. I feel it's sneaky, and it's the reason why used car dealers have a bad name. More
Beware of this dealership. I spoke on the phone and through text with salespeople about a specific Sonata color/trim combination that I was interested in. I drove an hour to come see it from Atlanta an through text with salespeople about a specific Sonata color/trim combination that I was interested in. I drove an hour to come see it from Atlanta and it "was sold earlier that day." Classic bait and switch and I should have left right then and there but they had my second choice so I figured I'd still talk to the salesman on the lot. I will say the salesman I worked with in person (not the same from the phone call or text) was very helpful and we were able to get to the price I was looking for. The real problem came in with the finance manager. They play a lot of shady games and will change the numbers you agreed on with the salesman when you walk into the finance office. They changed the price and tried to add on $3000 in warranties that I did not want. I would avoid this dealership completely if you can. More
This was by far the worst car buying experience we have ever had. Five and half hours. Negotiating for an agreed price went ok with Tyler, our sales rep. It wasn't until we met with the finance rep that ever had. Five and half hours. Negotiating for an agreed price went ok with Tyler, our sales rep. It wasn't until we met with the finance rep that the experience went really really bad. First he attempted to raise the original negotiated price up by adding in $4000. Then he said we couldn't get the low interest rate we were promised. After threatening to walk he lowered the price to $2000 over the negotiated price. At that point we moved our items back out of the intended purchasing vehicle into our own vehicle, The Finance rep finally came back out with the correct negotiated price and the promised interest rate. The finance manager was deceptive and wrong to attempt manipulating our original negotiated price. Be Aware this guy plays the car dealership rip off artists. Watch him carefully. Personally I would never go to this dealership, unless you are looking for a nightmare experience. More
