Service work I just needed an oil change and tire rotation. Terrific customer service especially if you buy a used car and the 6 month/6,000 really does not cover the use car you purchase. When you have a initial problem with the car and bring it back they will lo car and the 6 month/6,000 really does not cover the use car you purchase. When you have a initial problem with the car and bring it back they will look at you like you are the problem and the GM Richard is really no help states he will call you back but never will and I even spoken to the sales manager who attempted to talk me into bringing the car back to trade out of if when I begin having problem with my used car just 2 weeks after purchase. I will never return there and I will also advise my friends to never shop there for a new or used vehicle because they are in the business of selling a car it does not matter what car it is. More
Long Road to Replacing a Touch Screen Radio/Computer Device The Shottenkirk Honda/Cartersville, GA Service Dept. has always been great to deal with. When the Touch Screen Radio/Computer Device on the dashboard The Shottenkirk Honda/Cartersville, GA Service Dept. has always been great to deal with. When the Touch Screen Radio/Computer Device on the dashboard of our 2018 CR-V Touring SUV suddenly died, we took the vehicle in. Following a diagnostic evaluation of the device and consultation with Honda America by the Service Dept., we were told the unit had to be replaced. Because it was going to take "a couple of days", we were given a loaner vehicle to drive which was very much appreciated. Several days later, we received a call that a "new" unit had been received from Honda, was installed and our vehicle was ready for pick-up. Back at the dealership, we discovered many of the functions controlled by the device were not operable; that Honda had shipped the wrong unit! We were asked to leave our vehicle again. When the next call to pick-up our vehicle was received, we returned to the dealership for the third time having been assured all functions were operable; Honda had apparently not initially programmed the device completely. Again working through the functions controlled by the device, all were operable EXCEPT the SiriusXM Radio. Sirius was contacted by Service Dept. management; however, the issue could not be resolved perhaps because it was late in the day. We left with instructions to contact Sirius the next morning which we did. After a more-than-two-hour process on the phone with Sirius, we learned (1) Honda had NOT shipped a New device, but a "rebuilt" one; (2) the device installed in our vehicle was still registered to another (previous) owner and (3) Sirius had to go through a lengthy and involved process, while we were on the phone with them, to transfer registration from the prior "owner" to us. In order to accomplish this transfer, we, not surprisingly, had to answer countless questions, many of them more than once as we were transferred from one party to another to another. Replacing the Touch Screen device in our vehicle took one week, three trips to/from the dealership (35 miles round trip each time) and navigating a time consuming, frustrating hassle with SiriusXM! To their credit, the Service Dept. personnel handled the process about as well as one could expect. The only thing they should/could have done better would have been to thoroughly check out each function controlled by the Touch Screen BEFORE calling and asking us to come in and pick up our vehicle which would have eliminated one of the three trips to the dealership. Our main issue is with Honda. While we appreciate the fact that our vehicle is still under warranty thus the device and service expense was covered, we are apprehensive about a used Touch Screen having been installed in our vehicle. Moreover, Honda very obviously DID NOT "clean" the device properly before shipping it to the dealership for installation in our vehicle as it was still registered to another "owner" with the result our SiriusXM account could not be easily transferred to the device. Given what we paid for this top-of-the-line CR-V Touring SUV, Honda should have shipped a NEW Touch Screen device not a used one that is probably older than our vehicle! Honda's handling of their part of this process resulted in an additional trip to/from the dealership, time wasted as we sat and sat in the dealership waiting room and our having to navigate a frustrating, time consuming process with SiriusXM. Honda's handling of the process also resulted in extra work and time wasted for the Service Dept., the personnel of which somehow managed to keep their professional composure nonetheless. Our rating of HONDA, for this experience, would be ONE STAR. More
