Sleazy sales tactics, sleazy salespeople. .. Buyer beware if you plan to purchase a vehicle from Shottenkirk Desert Lexus. We found a used car online and were very interested in purchasing .. Buyer beware if you plan to purchase a vehicle from Shottenkirk Desert Lexus. We found a used car online and were very interested in purchasing it if it turned out as expected in person. On Sunday we stopped into the dealership and worked with Maggie who showed us the car and allowed us to take it for a test drive. We then went back inside and made an offer to purchase the car based on the Kelly Blue Book fair market value price. One of the managers, Sean, came over and began the negotiation process. When it looked like we weren’t going to be able to come to an agreement, the used car manager, Kyle, came over and instead of seeing what could be done to close the deal, proceeded to be rude and insulting. He was the definition of the sleazy used car salesman. We then left the dealership. The next morning I received a call from Maggie asking if we’d given any more thought to buying the car. We did like the car and said we would still be interested in the car for x amount of money. She said she would take the offer to the managers can call me back. Within a few minutes she called me back and said that “sounded fair”. I said great we’d be in this afternoon to sign the papers if the car would be ready. I also asked if I could put down a deposit to hold the car and was told “we don’t hold cars”. After another 45 minute drive to the dealership we met with Maggie. We saw the car detailed and were excited to sign the papers and drive it home. Instead, after about 30 minutes of filling out forms, Sean returned with a price that was more than what we presented the day before. I told him that we had an agreement based on our phone call and he replied he wouldn’t sell the car for that amount. I told him that was the amount we all agreed on over the phone and that was the whole reason we made the trip back. Realizing their deceptive business practices we stood up again prepared to leave. At that point Maggie asked if we would wait a minute and she would talk to another manager. Shortly afterwards Kyle retuned even more rude and unprofessional than before, and ultimately told us not only would he not sell the car to us at the price we agreed upon and furthermore we were no longer welcomed in the store. Not to worry as that will be the last time I will ever attempt to do business with them. As the old adage goes, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. More

I had a 7 o’clock appointment for servicing but decided it would be less hectic to drop the car off the day before. I dropped the car in the service entrance and was asked to go into the customer area and it would be less hectic to drop the car off the day before. I dropped the car in the service entrance and was asked to go into the customer area and wait for a service representative to write up the work invoice etc. after waiting for 30 minutes with other cars going in and out of the service bay area I began to pay attention to what was going on around me. After 50 minutes without anybody acknowledging my presence and being the last person in the customer service area I approach the service representatives. One service representative was packing up to leave when I approach them to complain about lack of service. He then left The area and the one remaining service representative stated the obvious that he was the only one there. No apologies for leaving me unattended for 50 minutes. I’ve never experienced such poor customer relations in decades of dealing with dozens of different dealers. One star rating reflects the courtesy that was shown by the girl I talked to on the phone setting up the appointment. Although she never told me that there was a $20 fee for a loaner car. I can’t comment on the quality of the actual repair work because I took my car and left. More

We should have read these reviews before purchasing a pre-owned vehicle from this dealership. Found a pre-owned car we were looking for. They tried to tack on a $2495 fee for free car washes for 3 years. pre-owned vehicle from this dealership. Found a pre-owned car we were looking for. They tried to tack on a $2495 fee for free car washes for 3 years. Had none of that. So we were happy with the deal until we found out that they purposely concealed a safety issue with the car that did not come up in the carfax. They did not go through any of the features of the car when we were buying it and now we know why. The blind spot indicators were not functioning and cost $1000-$1500 to repair. When we discovered this we called to see if they would look at the issue. They gave us a useless 6mo/6000 mile powertrain warranty which the original warranty already covers. They also failed to give us a complete copy of that warranty when we signed the papers. They were happy to look at the issue but we'd have to pay the full cost. We went to the sales manager to see what they'd do since they obviously deceived us at the time of purchase and he basically through us out of his office and told us to see the business manager. He's a dude from Texas that is all buddy buddy but don't turn around as he'll stab you in the back. We will be pursuing this further. Just beware that they lie and deceive as has been mentioned in other reviews. More
I purchased a car from their online inventory. I paid approximately 35% over blue book, which was ok w/ me based on the description of the car. Super low miles, a car I liked and assurance from the two approximately 35% over blue book, which was ok w/ me based on the description of the car. Super low miles, a car I liked and assurance from the two sales reps that the car had gone through their stringent inspection and was in great condition. I understand used cars are bought 'As-Is'. But the As-Is needs to be identified. When buying online, you have to TRUST the dealership personnel to be your eyes and ears. I trusted. I got deceived terribly. No one bothered to tell me the car had body damage. The online photos did not show the damage. When the truck transport arrived to pick up the car, he noted the driver side rear panel had body damage and recorded the damage on a diagram and the Lexus dealer person 'Robert' was well aware. I learned of the damage from the driver and then saw for myself when it was delivered to me in Idaho. The two people I worked with at the dealership, Tamara Aldana and Angel Gomez failed either intentionally or not, to be truthful and disclose a huge issue to be considered. Not one time did anyone hint of body damage. OK, what do I do? I contacted both Angel and Tamara (who no longer return communication) and said the fairest way to handle this was that I"d put through my insurance and the dealership could pick up my deductible of $500. I still lose when the frustration, time, inconvenience and ding on my insurance are considered. By the way, Angel admitted he was aware of pre-existing damage because he said his 'crew said they could buff it out and someone lied to him'. (everyone lied to me by ommission) To date, I've been offered $250 ($125 from each Tamara and Angel) towards the deductible, I was also told by Tamara to sell the car if I'm not happy, and bottom line, no one at the dealership is willing to make the deceit right with me. I feel so bad about this purchase. I love the car but I hate to be bullied, deceived and taken advantage of. I'm 67 years old and live in another state. Does anyone have ideas on how I can get the help and resolution I deserve? I have an estimate for repair in the amount of $1400. I'm asking for the $500 deductible so I'll be whole again. No one is helping me. More
Worked with Steve "The Italian". His patience through no less than three visits before I finally decided on the vehicle put me at ease and never put up pressure. and each time he held true to the deal. I less than three visits before I finally decided on the vehicle put me at ease and never put up pressure. and each time he held true to the deal. I never, and I have bought no less than 20 cars in my life, have never got such a thorough walk-threw of the car's features. He is an EXPERT in my own opinion. He offered me free car washes 2x every month for as long as I have the car which is going to be a LONG time!! More
I purchased a used 2019 Lexus GS F from Shottenkirk Lexus in March 2021 and the sale person I dealt with was Kyle. I was lied to on several matters about the car. I was told that a new exhaust that cost 13K in March 2021 and the sale person I dealt with was Kyle. I was lied to on several matters about the car. I was told that a new exhaust that cost 13K was put onto the car when in fact is was a used aftermarket exhaust . The biggest issue was that the car had the rear taillights replaced with non working rear taillights. State law requires that all lights be working when a car is sold. So obviously they did not check to see if the rear taillights were operational and sold it to me with non complaint taillights. I found out about this issue as I was pulled over because my taillights were not functioning properly. I took the car to my local Lexus dealership in San Diego and I was informed that the taillights that were on the car were the wrong models for the car. in fact the tail lights that were on the car needed a bulb to illuminate the taillights when I needed led taillights on the car. I reached out to Shottenkirk Lexus and I spoke with one of their managers, Sonny Frisenda, and he was very snarky and made it seem like it was my problem. Sonny told me he'd look up the sales information and get back to me the next day. Not to my surprise but I still haven't heard back from Sonny. I sent emails to 4 different managers and no one has called me back or sent me an email. I call Lexus Corp and open up a case in regards to my concerns and they said that after looking at the info that they can not intervein as this Lexus is a private Lexus dealership. Lexus Corp said if I wanted to pursue it further than I would have to go through the court system. Buyer beware!!! A very inauthentic dealership with their best interests at heart. To sell a car with inoperable rear taillights is wrong and they should've taken care of the problem because that is the right thing to do. I wouldn't buy a car from this dealership I would rather drive to a neighboring city instead. I would have given negative stars if that was an option. Let my experience bring light to your decision on visiting this dealership. More
Some sales manager in there named "Sonny" is the epitome of a slimy, sleazy, slithering lizard of a used car salesman. Unbelievable that Lexus allows this classless piece of crap on their lot. I am so dis of a slimy, sleazy, slithering lizard of a used car salesman. Unbelievable that Lexus allows this classless piece of crap on their lot. I am so disappointed in Lexus I had an expectation which is clearly my fault to expect Lexus to be honest ethical moral and truthful and reasonable and fair. This Sonny guy had the salesman bring me back to the lot after leaving, telling me I'm going to get a great deal..... This idiot tries to sell me the car for more than what was on the sticker price on the window when I left in the first place. This is unbelievable how unbelievable it is. Lexus you piece of cheesy crap!!!! More
