Most recent experience with Sheehy Service Dept. Brought me truck into have the Cylinder Head Temp Sensor replaced on my 2014 F150. Easy to diagnose, hard to access which is why I brought it in. She Brought me truck into have the Cylinder Head Temp Sensor replaced on my 2014 F150. Easy to diagnose, hard to access which is why I brought it in. Sheehy quoted a price of $426. After dropping the truck off, Service Advisor Jon calls to tell me it's not the sensor, it is the wiring harness that was damaged by a critter that ate into the wires and the price jumped to $900. Completely plausible, but not likely given that the truck only experienced the issue after warming up whereas a broken circuit would have triggered the failure immediately upon starting the vehicle. When I asked him to send a pic of the chewed wires, he sends me a picture of the connector that connects to the sensor and it looks like it had some damage to one side of the clip. That said, there is a big difference between a wiring harness and the connector clip that is sold separately from Ford for $50, part number 3U2Z-14S411-BXAB. So when I asked why the price had jumped from $426 to $900, he had no justification knowing he had been caught in a lie referencing the wiring harness needed to be replaced. I told him don't do the work, I'll come get the truck. He tells me I should have them do it because they were going to charge me $235 for the "diagnostic" fee anyway. I hope the $235 was worth the bad review. I will attempt the repair myself or find another local shop with a good review. My advice to anyone getting your car serviced is to do as much research on the problem you're experiencing prior to bringing your vehicle to the dealership so you have a sense and scope of the problem. Otherwise they will continue to prey on folks who are not mechanically inclined. This is a common practice from most dealerships, I can't say all, but that doesn't make it acceptable. More
I bought my car here because various dealers in Stafford and Fredericksburg did not seem interested in waiting on an older woman ( or maybe because I was just a woman). I sat in one dealership for more than and Fredericksburg did not seem interested in waiting on an older woman ( or maybe because I was just a woman). I sat in one dealership for more than 30 minutes waiting for someone to talk to me while others were helped immediately. And i was wanting to see a vehicle I was really interested in. Nothing. Angry, I went home and car shopped online. I ended up calling Sheehy of Springfield and in three days had a car I had not thought of buying but became the best decision I ever made. I just had my first oil and overall check and massively pleased with the service and the people. I lucked out and found the best dealership I could hope for. Won't go anywhere else despite having to drive 35 miles on I95! More
Unfortunately the service department here is not friendly and has a lot to learn about customer service. Wait times are always much longer, service advisors are anything but nice, and they quality of work is and has a lot to learn about customer service. Wait times are always much longer, service advisors are anything but nice, and they quality of work is not up to par. Most recently they refused to honor our VIP membership saying it expired over two years ago. We’ve been going here twice a year for the past several years with no problem. They refused to honor the original VIP program which we purchased with our car (lifetime benefits) and insisted on their current program benefits. A shady operation and one that isn’t customer focused. Go somewhere else for your vehicle needs. More
Sales team is good. Service department is terrible. They overbook like crazy, upsell unnecessary maintenance, etc. They always go over estimated wait times. I have the Service department is terrible. They overbook like crazy, upsell unnecessary maintenance, etc. They always go over estimated wait times. I have the VIP membership which entitles me to certain free services (e.g., oil changes) and I still prefer to take my vehicle elsewhere. I’d rather pay than deal with them! That’s pretty bad. The thing is, I’ve complained (nicely) and they simply shrug. They know they’ll lose some customers, but they’re fine with taking that risk. Do yourself a favor - go to a local garage you trust! More
