Unprofessional group On November 12, 2015, my wife purchased a 2014 Ford Flex, a Certified Used Car from Sheehy Ford of Springfield, VA. As it came close for the temporary On November 12, 2015, my wife purchased a 2014 Ford Flex, a Certified Used Car from Sheehy Ford of Springfield, VA. As it came close for the temporary tags to expire, my wife started calling the dealership inquiring about the permanent tags & title, and to express her concerns about the condition of the windshield, to see if it should be replaced because it had a sandblast appearance when in direct sunlight. Her inquires were never directly addressed. She was referred to the business office for the tags & title and was told that, “the paperwork was not on my desk”, so she could not do anything. This same inquiry was answered the same way two or three times. Not once did the women at this office offer to provide any help or say that she would look for the paperwork. Other phone calls were made to the Business Manager who did not answer her messages. My wife did finally get in touch with the salesman who had no answers, but did send out a second set of temporary tags. As time passed we did not hear from the dealership or the salesman (Robert Jacobs) with any answers to this problem. Finally my wife asked me to intervene with this situation. I started by talking to Mr. Jacobs, the salesman on 11-12-2015. He did not have any answers and had to be refreshed about the problem. Mr. Jacobs said he would look into it and call me back. He called and repeated to me the same answers he had told my wife which were, the paperwork was missing or that it was never sent over from Sheehy of Marlow Heights where the MD inspection was done, he did not know if the windshield was covered under warranty and that he would look in to it and call me back. On December 26, 2015 I called Mr. Jacobs, as I had not received a return call again. This phone call quickly became heated because there were still no answers to be had. I informed Mr. Jacobs that I was leaving town on the 28th of December and would not be back until the end of January. I needed a better answer. Mr. Jacobs insinuated that the paperwork was being held up because my insurance was no good or that the financing was a problem. I informed him that I knew for a fact that my insurance was covering the vehicle and that the vehicle was paid for in cash. I then told Mr. Jacobs that I wanted to know who his boss was and he said “what did I need that for.” I told him that I thought he was incompetent and wanted his boss’s name. He continued to refuse me the name and eventually asked someone else what his bosses name was. At this point Jacobs became very ignorant and defiant, refusing to answer any more questions. He even told me if I wanted other names of authority, I would have to call and talk to the switchboard. I said I did not want the switchboard and he hung up on me. I called Sheehy of Springfield and asked for the General Manager and was forwarded to a Mr. Dave Parin. Mr. Parin, of course, did not know of this situation. I brought him up to date. He asked for additional information and resolved that the windshield was not covered in the warranty and that he would look into the tag problem first thing Monday morning and that he would express deliver the tags to my out of town destination. Mr. Parin also said he would contact me on 11-28-15 to inform me of the status. As for Mr. Jacobs, I wish no man any harm and definitely not to lose their job, but he needs to learn how to deal with the public with some degree of integrity. His handling of this sale and follow up are what give salesmen a bad name. He just wants to make a sale and forget you once you drive off the lot. Yea, he made a sale, but his lack of professionalism has led me to never want to do business with Sheehy again as well as telling and retelling this story to everyone I know and to never do business at Sheehy in the future. Of course Mr. Jacobs could care less because he made a sale. More
