I live about 100 miles away, but I plan service visits around trips to the area. I don't trust any local dealerships and will only let them work on my car. It is a real family atmosphere and I would recommend this dealership to anyone in the area. More

We recently bought two vehicles at Shaull & Ullerich. We have had a few minor problems with them, as will often happen with older vehicles (a '99 and 2000, I believe). In fact, we've been so pleased that we're already planning to purchase a new vehicle there next year. More

My mother-in-law called Shaull & Ullerich Chevrolet Co in Victor Iowa on Friday, January 13 and ask them to look at her car because it would not start. The car was started by my mother-in-law then shut off. I asked her if there were warning lights on and she said "NO." When she tried to start the car a minute later it would not do anything. There mechanic came and started it and drove it to the shop. About three hours later he called to say her battery was shot as well as her alternator. I say xxxxxxxx! A battery does not go from having enough energy to crank the car one minute to having no energy the next minute. I asked her if there were any warning lights on last time she drove the car and she said “NO”. Most likely the battery cable had corrosion and contact was not being made. I told my mother-in-law that she was being ripped off by them (my opinion) and needed to request that her old parts be returned to her so she could have them tested herself. The shop knew her and had sold this car to her said that they could not give her the old parts because of the core charge. My thought is if they “the mechanic” had nothing to hid he could of gave her the parts and told her to bring them back in a few days. Now she will be charged between $560.00 for what I firmly believe is unneeded repair to the car. She is 73 years old and was taken adavantage of. She can not afford such a uncalled-for repair cost. They should be vestigated for charges of the mechanic selling unnecessary parts and labor. I am consider sending this letter to the attorney general’s consumer protection division.
